So we're getting Darksiders 3 on PS Plus in September. Pretty crazy honestly. That's one of those games I've always considered buying, and it's really recent. Can't complain.

At this point I'm wondering how Bethesda will ruin Doom as well.

So me and me boys attempted to do an Overdrill 145+ in Payday: The Heist.

It's a challenge, which requires you to pass every original heist on maximal difficulity and earn golden masks. After that you had to do First World Bank on 145+ again, wearing golden masks and drilling secret vault for 2 hours straight. You also had to record your progress to show it to a moderation staff in order to obtain secret masks.

Here we go. Just in time to do challenges in 2011 game.

I don't know how many people care but Microsoft's streaming platform Mixer has Shroud now. Arguably the biggest streamer on Twitch currently and a former CSGO pro. Microsoft must be paying out some crazy money to these guys to just drop everything, their channel history, their subscribers/community and move to a new platform.

I may keep a account at Microsoft Xbox site after the one month $1 trail,  to try out  games  there that are also in my steam wishlist, games I'm not to sure about!..

I wasted a lot of money on games at steam over the years and have over a dozen games hidden in my steam library now that I'll never play again

here are the games I found at Microsoft Xbox site so far that are on my steam wishlist

Hellblade- Senua's Sacrifice   <-- downloaded it last night

Gears 5 Ultimate Edition

Metro Exodus (Windows)

Middle-earth™- Shadow of War™

Prey

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus  Standard Edition

Wasteland 2: Director's Cut for Windows 10

Forza car racing game <---any of them that's there

Being on the losing platform (in terms of sales) makes for an underdog with mighty teeth and a huge network infrastructure and budget. I'm really happy for be with on Xbox now but more excited for what's in store next gen.

I don't know that guy but yeah, it's pretty crazy to leap platform like that. They must have made him an offer he couldn't refuse and I don't mean that as some sort of euphemism.

Does it ever bother anyone that stuff marketed towards gamers looks like tacky thrash!? I'm not sure who it is that goes for it, maybe teenage, introverted, basement-dwelling edgelords.. I don't know. Some of the designs remind me of awful tribal tatooos that you often see worn by jacked up Eastern European doormen.  :D

I was nearly going to get an Asus ROG but got put off by the tack design. No offence to anyone here that likes that sh*t. I just can't stand it.

I just want some simple, sleek design that fits in with the subtle colours and black of my other hardware. I know, I'm sporting silly pink avatars and sigs but mostly my pink Schick is just a running joke with myself.

BTW, if anyone has any recommendations for a headset, around $100, I would be very grateful. Looking at the Sennheiser GSP 300's.

There's been a few that have jumped ship now. They are all FPS players as well. It makes me think Microsoft is making big moves before Halo: Infinite. There's going to be some exclusivity there, and I wouldn't be surprised if streamers on Twitch don't get early access. Their platform could blow up if the new Halo is a success. I really hope it is honestly, Twitch has been needing some competition for a while in the streaming game. It's not really rivalled by anything.

Halo could be the thing that gets me going to Xbox in the next generation. Although, I am surprised with how little of the game we've seen so far.

What's everyone's thoughts on next gen VR? I haven't played VR games. In fact, VR games don't really appeal that much to me. However, I experienced live-action VR and  it was amazing!  I'm hoping Xbox next gen supports it. I mean, it will have the hardware capabilities but I think Microsoft and fans alike are still thinking it's a gimmick like Kinect.

I'm hoping MS will hit the AR route and leave VR to the main players to battle out.  I'm not a massive fan of VR myself due to motion sickness.  Some games are ok for 20-30mins but the vast majority like RE are no go.  Hopefully next gen VR will have built in air conditioning and 0 motion sickness.

My little experience with VR has left me with little chance to experience motion sickness. However, I don't think I would anyway, but who knows? I grew up spending a lot of time at sea and never got sea-sick. I presume they're not too far from each other. Although I imagine VR might be a little more extreme, given you might be playing a game with action, explosions, flashes etc - aside from this thing on your head.

I'm just looking for live-action VR. The one I tried was Samsung VR. It was just a showcase medley. One moment, I'm in between Bono and The Edge on stage, next minute I'm in an African church with a choir around me and the church attendees dancing. Then it stopped. And all of a sudden I'm in an empty cinema. It was then it felt really profound. Because I was sitting in chair that felt like a chair in a movie theatre. I look around behind me and see empty seats. There was something on screen. I can't remember. But I genuinely felt that silence of an empty cinema. I got a chill, like I'm in this big empty room. It blew my mind.

I don't know what they could do to make that experience longer or if the novelty will wear off. I do think it would be interesting use a headset and join a party online and maybe watch a film in a virtual cinema with friends abroad, or watch a VR concert together. When games get a bit better, I'm sure I'll dip my toe in to them.

VR for gaming really lends itself well for racing titles, especially if you have a wheel and gear stick setup.

Will someone explain to me how Earth Defence Force 2025, a backwards compatible Xbox 360 game, has a more active multiplayer than ps4's 4.1 version? I know Games with Gold is part of the reason, but I only find 3-4 rooms on when I check the ps4 version. 100mil ps4's for fecks sake. I've got a full screen of rooms right now on Xbox One. Can't all be playing *fortnite on ps4

*I don't play it, just that you don't need Plus for free games unlike Xbox where you need Gold to play free-to-play games.

I have a couple questions.  I just got a PS4, are PlayStation Plus and Now worth it?  What are their pros/cons?

PS+ - Do you plan to play online? If so, it's mandatory. Beyond that I think you get cloud saves, better deals sometimes on the store and two free games every month. The monthly games aren't really worth the fee alone. If you don't play online I wouldn't be that bothered about it.

PS Now - Download the app and browse the game library, it's not Xbox Game Pass good but it's got some good games on there (God of War, Uncharted 4 are two of the most notable). All the PS4 games can be streamed or downloaded to the console and the BC library are all streamed. If there's games in the PS Now library that you fancy giving a go it's definitely worth at least a month subscription, it's good value as long as there is stuff on it that interests you.

I tried PSNow out, but I don’t think my internet can handle the streaming.

I might give it a go for the downloadable games.

The steam winter sale is on but there having trouble with there Winter sale main page there may be only one or two games in my wishlist I'd be tempted  to buy, but with the steam flashing on  and off like it is, I wouldn't trust my purchase to go through properly

I'm finding it hard to be motivated to play games lately. It's been a downward trend for a while. Got the recent Star Wars game but haven't bothered to install it. Have Battlefront II installed and ready to play. I'm just not feeling it. Other, more productive hobbies and interests have my attention right now. Having said that, I was watching all the hype for the new Xbox. I think I'll just take a break from gaming for a month or two and miss it again before I try to start playing some games. It's a pity because I have some spare time over Christmas.

Take a break, for sure.

I can guarantee in a month or two that the urge to play games will come back. It happened to me as well, there was one point where I hated games seemingly and didn't want anything to do with them, and now I'm finding myself much more interested in them again and watching a lot of streamers and let's plays and enjoying the whole scene once again.

There are a lot of games coming soon that many of us are very excited for. Games such as Final Fantasy VII Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Avengers, Dying Light 2, Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI, Ghost of Tsushima, etc. But my three most anticipated games coming soon are Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, and The Last of Us Part II. What about you guys?

Cyberpunk 2077, The Elder Scrolls VI and the unannounced but inevitable The Witcher 4 or whatever it will be called are definitely my top three. The Witcher 4 may not come even in the next 5 years, but I say that it's inevitable because CDPR signed a new deal with Sapkowski, who's the author of the books. I'm also looking forward to the remake of Destroy All Humans. That should be out this year.

Other than the ones above, some I'd love to see how they turn out are the future are Watch_Dogs: Legion, the rumored Test Drive Unlimited sequel being developed by Kylotonn, and Hytale. There's also EVERYWHERE, but I have doubts that game will ever come out that I already expressed in its own thread.

I never owned a Sega Saturn and I don't remember these ads but if I was more cognizant of console adverts when I was kid, I would definitely been intrigued by strangeness of these...
