I'm so proud of myself not spoiling any RDR2 by looking at reviews or speculation articles/threads so far bar a few details. I didn't even watch the most recent trailer and I haven't watched the other trailers much.

Should trailers and reviews even include spoilers? I mean, they are meant to be watched/read before the thing they're promoting/reviewing.

For sure, no - I don't consider trailers spoilers. However, any more information is considered spoilers for me because every detail that gets revealed in a review is a detail that you can't get ever get the surprise of experiencing first hand. That's the purpose of me avoiding all previews/reviews etc. When I play all the details will be new. Everything will be a nice surprise. It's the closest thing I can get to playing RDR for the first time ever. The payoff should hopefully be great because I don't have many expectations.

I've always known you could connect an Xbox one controller to a tablet, I've just been too lazy to try.

I just tried.  Very cool.  Time to play Vice City again.

I think Just Cause 4 will be released too early and could suck. If it was developed for at least 2 more years it could be better than GTAV

I seen this today  above at my local  drug store Shoppers drugmart  for sale, are they trying to  bring back apple's commodore 64 from the early 80's?

Does that mean Atari well be next to come back from the 80's

Retro gaming is usually best left to the good memories.  Well kinda... a lot of retro gaming can be fun to visit in short doses but should not require much of an investment.

Any of those packaged and sold "revisit" systems make me sad.

Has anybody here signed up/bought the new Origin Premier? kind of like EA Access but instead of EA only games you get around 187 games from different companies hosted on Origin.

I was wary at first so I just bought the $14.95 monthly as more or less a "Trial" so I could see what games they're offering and if it would be worth the whole $99.95 a year deal and I think it is and it is cheaper to buy a full year rather than the $14.95 a month as that comes out to $179 a year while one time payment of $99.95.

There are a bunch of games offered that I've wanted to play but couldn't bring myself to buy them such as the Battlefield Hardline, 1, V, Madden 19' ect but with this I can play them as much as I want as if I owned them and it'd still be cheaper as I'm one of those who usually after beating a game I don't usually go back to it unless it's super good like Bully.

In case you were wondering here is a little gif showing all the games in the Full/$99.95/yr Libaray

Yeah, you can do a hell of a better job by emulating these systems on PC. The PS1 mini is especially trash with its cheap emulation.

Zoomers gonna zoom,

Happily surprised at the high ranking of Bloodlines though, it is a great one. Very surprised at Arcanum too, I did not enjoy that game at all.

So For Honor is going to be free for PS+ members next month. Does anybody here who played it think it's worth my time for the Single Player?

That RPG article above is surprising to see. My favorite JRPGs are in there too, but that's not the reason why I'm surprised.

I'm surprised that RPG as a term is still in their dictionary after gamers nowadays pretty much consider every f*cking single thing related to randomized loot/reward/crafting/item-stats as 'lootbox-system-from-[insert evil company name]' - and that's still outside the people who also call system of leveling, strategy, build as 'MMO-wannabe'.

I started to play other games of mine the other night and played Tom Clancy's the division ,  but most of that game is coop and has way to much grinding to get better gear and training, it only had 5 base game missions and the odd back alley gun shoot out with a couple of bad guys for 20 exp

I bought Tom Clancy's  ghost recon wildlands earlier on this year and well either play it or one of the horror survival  or zombie games I bought from steam during sales last year!..

I have 24 of my 114 steam games installed even they'll my gaming drive is a terabyte

Yeah, it's good. Been meaning to have another go. Haven't played Ventrue or Toreador yet.

A while ago I found this old thread via google: https://gtaforums.com/topic/822265-cyberpunk-games/

And I just remembered that in there (at the bottom of your 2nd post) you said Arcanum is "pretty sweet". I also remember that thread simply because you brought up Arcanum in there, but it's not cyberpunk at all.

?

But I can easily see how someone would dislike it, mainly because: 1) the combat is poor, 2) the UI is clunky, 3) it's buggy and unbalanced (but both of those can be 99% fixed with the Unofficial Patch and a few other mods), and 4) it's partly unfinished (tho it's not as unfinished as Bloodlines IIRC). Buuut, I look past the combat etc., and what I mainly like is the storytelling in general, good lore, and some nice C&C. Its often humorous, subversive writing is similar to Fallout 2's but better IMO; and I think its lore is slightly better and way more original than Baldur's Gate 2's. I'd rank its main story above FO2's but generally below BG2's, altho Arcanum's villain (not Arronax) is better than Irenicus, who only has better voice acting. And a handful of its quests are among the richest/most complex I've ever played, better than any quests in BG2 and FO2. Also, I'd say Arcanum's low-intelligence dialogue is a bit better overall than FO2's. BG2 and FO2 have their own flaws(e.g. FO2 is unfinished, etc.) and generally I'd rank Arcanum on the same tier. Just sayin' :p

Yeah I changed my opinion of Arcanum after playing it again :P It's steampunk, I know, but if you enjoy cyberpunk it's likely you'll enjoy steampunk aesthetics as well, which is why I just gave it as suggestion.

Just like PS:T I'm sure Arcanum is a great RPG, but I just couldn't enjoy the game the same way as I could Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale (even though IWD obviously lacked good story). Then again PS:T is still above Arcanum in my opinion, but I guess that could be because I haven't played that much of Arcanum.

I suppose there are better places to ask this, but I thought I could also give a try to the folks around here - I've wanted a Nintendo 3DS for years now, but now, with both the eminent end of its life cycle, the prices dropping thanks to the Switch, and the fact I spend more and more time out of home, I've felt it was a good time to pick up a cheap unit and some of the titles I've been curious for so long second-hand.

Thing is, I'm definitely not throwing away over 100 euros on a new unit, and so I either wait forever for a possible deal opportunity or pick up a console in good condition off a thrift shop that does deals every now and then and offers two years of warranty. My choices are between one of the old 2DS (they have several Pokémon Moon editions in great condition - sadly without the SD card, and so without the game), and for the same price one of the old 3DS models, also in really good shape.

I'm not particularly fond of the 3D effect, plus I have a feeling either by the end of this year or by the next one, the remaining new consoles will be sold for clearance prices, so I just want something reliable to enjoy some games and later on pick up a newer one with larger screens if I stick to it, perhaps. Both those options offer basically the same specs minus the 3D effect - though for the same cash I'd prefer the full experience, these old 3DS models usually seem to have gone through more years of wear and tear (not only the battery, that I can pick up a replacement one for under 10 bucks around, but most importantly the hinge mechanism and a ribbon cable that seems to be a common failure with these).

In short, I wonder if a newer-ish old 2DS would be a more reliable option for some subway and in-between classes gameplay, not to speak I quite like the simpler and more rugged design reminiscent of a GameBoy and quite enjoy having these more unique special editions - and possibly pick up a new 2DS to enjoy the larger screens at some point in the future. Any experiences the NDS enthusiasts around here may share with me?

What is it with older games from the last few years and having to  run them in Windows mode and in admin before they'll run and work on Windows ten??

On my tom clancy's splinter cell conviction game it wouldn't work until I changed it to run in Windows 7 and for the game controller admin for the joystick to work right, and one of my other older games BioShock 2 needed this permission or setting's too

One of my childhood's favorite game doesn't want to run on Win10 too. Windows compatibility modes seems not to be working aswell. The pain is real.

That is not the case with any of the old games that I have. Always check this site for fixes and stuff for any old game that you have: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Home

So in mid 2000-es, i've had what appeared to be a pirated copy of Spyro Year of The Dragon. I was smol back then and didn't really understand how the pirate copies work and what consequences that could cause. So i totally ignored Zoe's warning at the end of the first homeworld. The game detected it's illegal ownership and enabled anti-piracy mechanics. There was plenty of those.
When they smoothly started to appear, i didn't really notice them. At the start they were sort of harmless - missing gems, temporary green Sparx etc. Bunch of bugs, i thought. But later on the game were messing up with the save datas and removing my eggs' progress. This prevented me to finally realise that there's something up with the game.

Years passed and i forgot about my bad experience with the game. But recently i've stumpled upon a whole articles about the piracy protection mechanics. Needles to say that i have even more PTSD now.

I'm trying to get the Steam Spring Cleaning Event 2019 badge and so far  I have 7 tasks completed, one was to play your first steam game purchase, which was Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, which I played for a few seconds and finished the task, I have to play the original skyrim from my library and Dishonored for other task in the  badge i think
