It's ironic how much Treyarch carries the series nowadays. Next year is going to be pretty interesting, Advanced Warfare found its niche sub-fanbase, but who the hell is going to buy Ghosts 2?

They're doing Ghosts 2? Isn't that the one people hated the most and that didn't even sell very well. Seems like a bad idea to me. Advanced Warfare was probably why Black Ops 3 sold this well though(as well as Black Ops 2 being considered one of the best in the franchise).

He was getting at the trends that the games are coming out. BO3 has like, just been released, how the hell would anyone know what title is next, seriously? For me, I lost all interest in the CoD franchise with Ghosts. The campaign was actually somewhat decent in that in all fairness, but the MP was frikking terrible, and Advanced Warfare looked like an absolute joke to me, never even touched that game at all yet. Might pick BO3 up somewhere in the future when it's in a bargain bin sale, but for now I've lost all interest in the franchise...

I haven't bought a cod game since BO1. AW looked somewhat interesting to me, because it tried something new at least, though I feel like they were somewhat inspired by Titanfall(isn't that game pretty much dead now btw?).

"The authors of GTAMP, another popular mod for Grand Theft Auto V, said they also received a visit from private investigators working on behalf of Take-Two...

 

"Soon afterwards, the modders shut down their website and released a statement explaining what had happened in greater detail...

 

"The GTAMP team urged gamers not to blame Take-Two or Rockstar Games for what had transpired in their farewell statment...

 

"FiveM modders previously had their accounts banned from the Rockstar Social Club, an online network maintained by the studio behind Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar Games, which prevented them from playing GTAV. That's somewhat old news already and you probably should have posted it somewhere in the GTA section(though technically it fits here as well since it's gaming related). The thing is, R* didn't like FiveM and GTAMP, because they would take players away from GTA Online which would mean less sales of shark cards. Singleplayer mods should still be okay.

Who would buy AW2, I don't think I found anyone who can legitimately say that they enjoyed that game. When you're not getting sh*t on by OP variants you're being killed by someone who's glitched into a wall or out of the map (this is assuming you've actually managed to get into a lobby). It would have been better if SHG listened to the fans but no instead they just kept adding monotous rehashes of previously released gear instead of fixing the broken game.

 

AW = Full of great ideas but a f*cking terrible execution.

I never even played the game, but to me it seemed too much like they were trying to incorporate elements of Titanfall in to a CoD game, even carrying some ideas in to BO3 by the looks of things. The "no one would buy it" statement is BS. Simply by carrying the CoD ID, the game will always sell, no matter what, sadly. Happens every year. If MW4 got announced then yeah, my interest would probably be regained in the franchise, since that seems to still have the grass-roots feel to it.

 

BO1 and MW2 are the only CoD titles I tend to touch these days...till I get fed up of hacked lobbies.

I feel like exo movement and supply drops could have been done alot better ( Black Ops III has done them right) but overall it was pretty f*cked and a majority of people I know hated it. Comes to something when YouTubers made videos celebrating the end of AW.

 

I was discussing MW4 the other day and is there any real way it could continue on? I mean Zakhaev died MW, Shepherd died MW2 and Makarov died MW3 so all the main antagonists are gone so unless they do a Fast and Furious style cop out and introduce some random brother/relation then I can't see any way they could do MW4 (aside from a new story but I think people would be disappointed storyline wise with a new set of characters although another multiplayer MW would be great).

So how do people here feel about those "walking simulator" type of narrative-driven games? I do quite enjoy some of them. I don't mind the lack of proper gameplay if it can immerse me into its story and overall atmosphere. Video games can be very powerful storytelling tools, because the interactivity often makes things feel so much more personal and compelling.

 

Examples: Gone Home, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Dear Esther, Stanley Parable etc.

I'm trying to think of what game i should play next it's really frustrating, I've given up on vice city, so i could give the glitchy xbox 360 version of san andreas a chance, but the musics f*cked and honestly that's 30% of the game for me, driving around listening to cool music.... plus the controls are glitchey and broken... and i have beat it a bunch of times........

 

don't feel like playing a sports game,

 

saints row ect '' gta clones'' im not in the mood for them,

 

far cry 3/4 on the other seems more appealing but still no.....

 

i'm in a gta mood but i can't play gta i'm not interested in playing any of the current gen gta's, i've played them all to death apart from v which does next to nothing for me, if anything it'll just remind me of how disappointing modern gaming is and why i'm so bitter in the first place.....

 

so i dunno guys i could always keep watching survivor but i'm limited in terms of what i enjoy watching on t.v so i don't want to over do it.... i need a game to carry some of the load, during my downtime, but what game ?

One of the worst gaming purchases I've ever made. I tolerated it, till a few missions on San Fierro, and I just completely gave up on it. One of the missions was so bugged that I could walk up to an enemy who was supposed to be shooting at me, but wasn't...made it easier for me, but it was just so unbearable.

I suck at RTS games.

 

I grew up playing Warcraft, Starcraft, and Age of Empires, but I'm horrible at them. I'm never able to build up a base or army as fast or efficiently as my opponents.

I'd say yeah, especially if you are a fan of the series already. For me, Halo is the only exclusive game I care about, so it made the deciding between PS4 and Xbone rather easy. I have my problems with Halo 5, but those are mainly based on personal preference, rather than some real flaws with the game itself and MCC is a fantastic deal, though I don't know how lively is the multiplayer now that 5 is out.

I have already played Halo's CE, and 2 on the original Xbox. I never bought an X360 to continue the Series. However, thanks to TVTropes Ruining My Life and the Halo Topics in it, and hearing about the MC Collection, it has rekindled my liking of the Series.

right, so i have just platinumed RDR and am at that spot in deciding what to play next. i've been thinking about the uncharted series for awhile because ofthe reviews and i like games that has substance as well as fun.

my previous games i have played are the gta games (3 series, 4 series, 5 and online) and RDR. in all those games though i used auto-aiming because it was convenient for me.

however i noticed in the uncharted games and in nearly all other similar games, to acheive trophies and passing stories normal and harder modes, there is no auto-aim, only free-aim. in RDR one of the trophies required me to use free-aim, and i wasn't that great at it - using a rifle, i was so much worse. i was so slow in getting my aim right, by which time i get shot down and killed.

i remember practising on TLOU earlier in the year and found it hard controlling both sticks while fighting at the same time. my view goes all over the place - instead of simply turning sides i am also going up and down and it seems more work for me as opposed to the rockstar games above.

most of you are probably pro's, so i'll ask, how can i get better or do well in free-aim third person games, given my severely limited experience with free-aiming? i personally hate it and would always go for auto-aim just because of preference and convenience for me, but if free-aiming isn't daunting as i am making it i wouldn;t mind trying it - i'm just worried that when fighting or shooting i'll be all over the place and ultimately getting killed over and over again.

I just picked up Dark Souls on Steam and I don't know what to think about it.
It's very intriguing, but as I never played extremely challenging / punishing games, it's pretty tough. Any Dark Souls fans here?
