ACA
I was watching tv and noticed an ad for the news, the mentioned somthing about violent videogames, i turned my head form the computer just in time to see a clip of tommy vercetti chainsawing someone to death. Right away I dived into my room, looked for a tape and recorded the news. I watched it later and they are talking about making these new retarded warning labels. Instead of being the standard: --------- | | | | |Mature | | There changing it to a HUGE label that says: "WARNING!!!! MATURE RATED GAME 18+ VIOLENCE BLOOD GORE MATURE THEMES" in big bold letters. (wich, by the way takes up a good 2 1/2x2 1/2 inches of the cover covering the top right corner of the name and art. I figure, if parents arent wise enough to go in the store with there kid and look at the game rating wich is there for them and then get angry because "they didnt know", they shouldnt be parents. IMO of course. Now, what do you think of this? Should they increase the size of the labels, or should parents be a little more responsible? (BTW, my dad knows this game is bad, he also knows I know the difference between games and real life) EDIT: spelling mistakes

Purple9
With good intentions, an' all, I don't think it'll make much difference.. Basically everyone already knows what GTA brings..so what's the point in employing this 'bigger warning' sticker? I don't think it'll deter Parents from allowing kids to have GTA-style games..they would've made that decision before any sort of 'warning sticker' came into action. On the point of it not being real-life; yeah, for certain - it's only a video game. However, some people may say it could influence kids to carry out or copy the actions or such things in the game. I see this has being highely rare. It's just an excuse for the Parents to not letting their kids have some fun with video games. Most of the stuff of GTA-style games is hardly ever seen in real-life ... do you see people walking round town with an M4 Machine Gun all day killing every person in sight? No.. The Precinct - We're upping our standards, so up yours!

Ballistic Jello
I don't understand why so many people complain about this when all they have to do is look on the box for the rating. If you know your kid can't handle this material, DON'T BUY THE GAME. CNN is awesome Edit: No offense to d8cam19, CNN is usually okay
just another thug
I think it's fine. Why complain about it? You all say that it's not going to make a difference so let them. Who cares? It helps parents to understand what's involved and make a better decision, if they don't already know what's involved.
