Buffalo S and Sultan

Is this The Guy?

How many of you still own and frequently use a Buffalo S and/or Sultan?

I noticed that with all the discussions of the armored cars and the newer vehicles these two don't get discussed much anymore.

I for one haven't owned a Sultan since early 2014 but many others have and I remember people saying that the Buffalo lost a lot of its popularity once it was made available to purchase online.

I still own a Buffalo S and have owned it for a lot longer than I can remember. I am not planning on selling it but I don't remember the last time I actually drove it so I went into my main garage and decided to take it out for a spin.

Since I have been using the quicker cars so much I really had to get used to taking turns with this beast again lol. I still love the sound though.

I use the unarmored Kuruma instead. Sure it's not as good as the Sultan, but man does it look like that car from Dirt Rally.

I remember people saying that the Buffalo lost a lot of its popularity once it was made available to purchase online.

I figure that only applied to people who keep cars like that because they are (were) rare.

People who actually liked the car for what it was held onto them. :)

I guarantee you if they added the Romero Hearse and Roosevelt to be permanently for sale on SSA Super Autos and Legendary Motorsport, at least 75% of people wouldn't give a sh*t about them anymore.

Remember when everybody wanted a hardtop Stallion because you couldn't get them anymore? Don't hear about those much, these days...

I've held onto all of these because I like Chargers (in the case of the Buffalo) and old cars in general. (Roosevelt, Stallion)

I might consider getting rid of the Romero if you could just buy it normally, but that'd be the only one.

Sultan for me. The Buffalo S is "too good" and I don't like how it's "the best". I know it's weird.

I really really like the backside of the Sultan since it has thosebeautiful BMW backlights. Reminds me of the good old Sentinel from GTA III

sultan :

remained as one of best 4 door car in the game . all good around car , above average speed , acceleration , traction and handling due to AWD , the sultan can easily surpass most offroads ( especially when upgraded ) . Unlike the Kuruma, the Sultan has ABS, allowing it to tackle corners with relative ease with little risk of a spin-out. Its durability is average. Braking, however, is this vehicle's weakness, taking a long time to slow or fully stop the vehicle. Additionally, the car does not handle particularly well when braking through a corner. sultan's competitor are kuruma ( both were manufactered by karin , both has good performance and finally four door ) , but kuruma is far more durable than sultan ( while sultan are durable than futo )

at this case , sultan is cheap , good performance and can be stolen from traffic , in addition good choice for newbies

note : the name " sultan " means " king " in arabic , perhaps referencing " king of sedans "

buffalo S :

being a " Sportier " version of original buffalo , the speed and acceleration are slightly better than normal variant . it's half-decent car as lack both acceleration and speed compared other sports , boatish handling . however , S variant hardly spin out but when it does , its easy to correct it , the braking is great and crash deformation is acceptable

i have both and in the case of the Karin Sultan I have one for both characters.

I am really looking forward to driving it again over the festive holidays when I can get online again properly as it's my main car

I use when cruising.

I still have Franklin's Buffalo with his license plate, brought over from PS3 SP to MP and transferred to PS4. And I still have a Sultan also.

I just got a Sultan a week ago thanks to the extra garage allowance. I've had one before but this one's for keeps.

I got it for my desert garage because I wanted an uncomplicated fast car for hooning around in, most cars that I own I wince a little bit when I crash but there's a few cars that suit the battered look and the Sultan's one of them.

As for the Buffalo, I've never liked it.

Every car in this game has ABS.

None of them have it,even if the first person interior lights might make you think they have it,you can still lock up the brakes on pretty much all the cars, the spongy brake cars have lock-up (brawler,slamvan,rat-loader and those kind of cars) and the cars with some of the strongest brakes (zentorno and others) can lock up their brakes,if you dont see brakes locking up in this game, its because they're not strong, nor spongy enough to lock up.

Yes they have, go play any racing sim, or IV or even in real life: brakes hard enough to lock up the wheels, the tires will squeal and there will be skid marks throughout the whole distance your vehicle drove with the wheels locked, also during the lockup you can't steer at all.

Seriously, in v, just position the camera to one of the wheels and brake and see for yourself, its even more notice able in the rain.

Sultan is still one of my favourite cars in game. I use it so many times on heists when an armoured car isn't required, and to cruise around. I also have my Buffalo S, although now I almost never use it, still, I'm not considering to ever sell them. Both are great looking imo, plus they are based on real life cars I really like.

Keep in mind my opinion is based only on the looks, I'm not considering here how they perform (although for heists and cruising my fully upgraded Sultan stands just fine), even because the so talked Shafter V12 doesn't please me at all (again just my personal opinion on the looks, don't throw at me how much you love it and how I suck for disliking that car).

Back on topic:

I don't like any of them, bit if I were to choose I'd pick the Buffalo, better engine sound, cooler mods and better crash resistance compared to the Sultan, I don't really care about speed or handling of these two because I wouldn'f use them on races anyway.

You need to install R*'s smartphone app iFruit, it's avaliable for Android and iOS, not sure about Windows Phone. It lets you create custom plates from the Los Santos Customs feature.
