GTA 2015 RECAP

Well this year has been a very exciting year. ALOT of stuff people have wanted finally came. We did have way less updates than 2014. And most of the new items that came in those updates are very (Read: VERY) expensive. To recap Updates:

FESTIVE SURPRISE 2014:

It was actually in 2014 but continued in 2015 anyway. This introduced a Pickup version of Slamvan from GTA The Lost and Damned, a clean version of the Rat-Loader and two Stock Car versions of the Jester and the Massacro. It also added new weapons such as (finally) introducing Mines in the GTA Series and bringing the Heat-Seeking Rocket Launcher from GTA: San Andreas, now dubbed the Homing Launcher and brought back Clothing from Holiday Gifts, as well as adding more. Snow fell in Christmas and New Year's Eve to many player's delight and a Exclusive Stocking Mask was given to players who logged in on Christmas. Christmas trees were included in all apartments as well as a gigantic one in Legion Square.

SAINT VALENTINE'S MASSACRE SPECIAL 2015:

Sadly, there was no Valentine's DLC.

HEISTS UPDATE:

The long awaited Heists Update introduced Heists to GTA Online. It added 5 new exciting heists, 11 new vehicles, a new weapon: the Flare Gun (originally from San Andreas Flight School Update), Daily Objectives, Adversary Modes and much more. Was it worth the wait? H*LL YES. This Update also introduced 3 of the game's most infamous cars: The Insurgent, Kuruma O' Death (as I call it) and the Hydra. This update is what basically put the final nail into the Tank's coffin as now You can find literally no one using that anymore.

ILL GOTTEN GAINS PARTS 1 & 2:

The most infamous updates to ever come to GTA Online. These updates added a ton of new vehicles that are over-the-top expensive ($10,000,000 for a Gold Jet. A jacket will set you back $20,000). Let's not discus this, please. These updates were also the last ones for Xbox 360 and PS3. Expect more Beefy and Bigger updates for Current Gen!

FREEMODE UPDATE:

This update added new events to tackle in free roam, such as Hunt the Beast, Kill List, Moving Target and more. It also added Time Trials which change on a weekly basis. This is the first update in which no new cars or weapons were added. Not sure if that's good or bad. Possibly the former.

LOWRIDER UPDATE:

This Update added 8 new Lamar missions which have him trying (Keyword: trying) to become king of the lowrider scene in Los Santos, in the style of Heist setups. It brought the Faction and Moonbeam from GTA 4, and made them and 4 other cars, the Buccaneer, Primo, Chino and Voodoo, able to be turned into a Lowrider, complete with Hydraulics, Stereo Systems, Custom Interiors and more. It also added gangster themed clothing and 2 new weapons: the TEC-9, now dubbed the Machine Pistol, and the Machete.

HALLOWEEN SURPRISE:

Actually less of a surprise and more of a "I knew this was gonna happen" update. This "update" added two new cars, the Franken Stange, a Hot Rod version of the Roosevelt, and the Lurcher, a Hearse version of the Buccaneer. A new weapon, the Flashlight. And a new adversary mode, Slasher, which will remind players of Rockstar's most brutal game: Manhunt.

EXECUTIVES AND OTHER CRIMINALS:

There's so much stuff to list. This Update added Yachts (finally) to GTA Online, as well as the ability to start and organization. It also finally added Mansions as well (NOTE: They are mansions. Franklin's second safehouse is a Mansion according to dialogue. And why no one has noticed one of the mansions included in the update is a few houses north of Franklin's?) and added 2 new weapons, the Long-Awaited Revolver and a Switchblade. This update also added clothing such as Smoking Jackets, Silk Pajamas, Bath Robes and new Swimwear. It also added a Hot Tub and the ability to go barefoot (I'm not joking).

FESTIVE SURPRISE: 2015 EDITION

This last update of the year re-added everything from last and 2013's Christmas updates, as well as adding Christmas-themed Silk Pajamas. It ain't Christmas in GTA until you put on Pajamas and sit down in front of the fireplace while it's snowing. It also added even more masks, like a Pudding Mask, a Turkey Mask, a Mrs Claus mask for the ladies, Tree masks and more. It also added new variations of Gingerbread masks (He's angry. He's out for your blood after all those years eating HIM. Now he's gonna eat YOU. You can't run. Nor Hide. He's gonna catch as fast as he can) and Santa suits. The Tampa was also added, being brought back from GTA 4.

Well, that ends this year of GTA. Now let's see what will happen as GTA 5 hits it's third year. What new surprises lay ahead.

FESTIVE SURPRISE 2014:

This re-introduced a butchered, ugly-as-hell mockery of the Slamvan from GTA The Lost and Damned,

Fixed. The actual Slamvan wasn't re-introduced until Heists and is still unavailable to players.

Many of Rockstar's decisions are very objectionable, but overall it's been a good year, especially the part where last gen got left behind so that current gen can get bigger, more substantial updates.

I agree that it has been an exciting year with all those updates but sadly most of those updates were only for GTA online, not story mode. I guess not having PS plus takes its toll :(

Not A Nice Person

FESTIVE SURPRISE 2014:

Great update, It was fun to play with crew in the snow. Truly a wonderful time.

HEISTS UPDATE:

Long awaited, disappointing glorified missions.

ILL GOTTEN GAINS PARTS 1 & 2:

A generic update(s) that added nothing to the game, except suck up our funds so R* could get cash card sales. The gold jet screams "We need money".

FREEMODE UPDATE:

A set of mini missions no one wanted

LOWRIDER UPDATE:

Actually a cool update, sweet cars bringing us to 92', killer clothing, and a cute hairstyle. Players were actually peaceful. (until a jackass ended the period of calm)

HALLOWEEN SURPRISE:

The cars were... nice I guess. The gamemode Slasher needs improvement, no costumes. Flashlight is pretty useless?

EXECUTIVES AND OTHER CRIMINALS:

Oh man, the same yacht still rehashed from Max Payne, a penthouse in one location without customization (and no balcony access), so much effort R*. Stilt houses which have no balcony access and the same 3 interiors with only minor changes. Clothing was the best part esp. barefoot.

FESTIVE SURPRISE: 2015 EDITION

Same thing from last year but with pajamas added, Im in my feelings rn so this was nice.

I was hoping this would be less fact listing and more of a tale of how the introduction of the Karuma changed the landscape of free roam and missions

And the death of the tank, which I think was this year....

REALLY looking forward to 2016, now that support for 360/PS3 has been dropped.

Let's see what an unshackled GTA on current consoles can do!

Well I've been keeping track of the updates but actually surprised as there was more updates than my brain remembers.

Overall it has been a good year in GTA Online and although I've had some time out I think the holidays will get me back to regular play, for me the actual

best update was Free Mode as it actually got me back to playing public lobbies and realizing they are not as bad as they used to be on PS3/Xbox360 (sorry!)

Also this festive surprise the horns make me chuckle when I try to drive around playing the horn constantly to annoy everyone and end up crashing. :santa:

I loved all the updates. They were all free and no one asked for them. Just imagine if Rockstar gave us nothing at all year. How many people would still be playing GTAO right now? I dare anyone to re-install GTA and just play it as vanilla to see how much they've actually added since GTAO was born. (I know you can't do this, but i think you'll understand what i'm getting at) :)

All these updates were pretty trash. Only thing 'cool' that has came tot he game was the revolver. Lookin forward to that new shotgun that's comin' but until we get some more TLAD bikes (which will probably never happen) I won't be satisfied.

Well that is your opinion. Play something that satisfies you.

Also b & m.

Heists were cool, everything else was a glorified cash grab to get players to buy shark cards though. Thanks for making lowriders cost half a million dollars, Rockstar. No really.

I would replace all these updates for a single piece of story DLC though. I've never actually grinded long enough to buy any of the new vehicles we've received online this year.

GTA O's best year by far. Here's to hoping that next year is just as good, if not better!

True, but that's not saying much. The game's barely two years old.

Nah mate. I did see someone else with a hideous shiny gold jumper once, so I know at least one other person liked it :p

I do love how people whine about how little Rockstar give us. That tiny, tiny list up there really reflects that, yeah?
