What is up with GTA server today?

I have good internet, nat type open. I forwarded the port for Xbox Live.

 

Usually have a good connection, but today everything seems off.

When I tried to quick join races with my phone earlier, nothing was happening and suddenly I would just fall under the map and I had to reset my game cause nothing was happening. Now I'm trying to quick join contact mission and it keep putting me in Underpass. Its a 30 players activity, I don't know what it is.

 

Am I the only one experiencing these problems?

100mb up 100mb down fiber cable connection here, and I haven't seen any connection problems like ever, and any lag issues I experience are not from my end.

 

Except when servers are down obviously, but besides that I don't think I ever got disconnected or had any type of problems with connection in the game.

Loading times are ok and I don't spend as much time in the clouds as it seems like others do.

 

Perk of having fiber connection I suppose.

I'm glad you said this. I'm having the same issues. I can't even join/host missions through the menu. When I try to I get a blurry screen but I can hear everything going on in the lobby like I never left. Only way I can get out of the screen is to leave the session. I can only play missions if I join through the phone.

The only major issue I've had is that I no longer have access to "returning player items". Furthermore my Dukes and Stallion were removed from my garage. The game claimed I was missing downloadable content... -_-

Yeah, I've been having trouble aswell. Then again, it's been like that for me for a couple days now.

 

Maybe this has something to do with servers being crowded or Christmas-related? Something? I dunno.

High speed fibre here and I got dropped, fell into the eternal drop, had an endless loading screen.

 

Restarting the game and all was fine again.

GTA Online Status has upgraded to UP for all consoles....and PC I guess.

It's probably Rockstar's servers getting hammered by everyone trying to play at once because of the incoming snow, etc. Also, even if you had the best connection in the world, if at least one other player in the session/lobby has a sh*t connection, you will lag too(hovering cars, AI being more retarded than usual, disappearing things, etc). Blame Rockstar for using P2P instead of dedicated servers....

 

I have a 50/25 connection with usually 10 ping. If I play with my friends in the US, we get no lag at all. As soon as my cousin from Brazil joins the lobby with 250+ ping, everyone starts to lag lol

After i went back to freemode from a mission, the screen got gray and weird and the game made the loudest beeping sound ever then i changed sessions and it got fixed. Has this happened to anyone else? the LOUD beeping got me like

I was disconnected a lot too, although I'm using PS3 and my wifi is only 15MBPS Upload and Download speed. People claim "get the new gen that's why", but ha, f*ck 'em! It wasn't doing this before.

 

But, I did run into a lot of invisible bodies, floating people, modders and glitchers.

I've seen some weird sh*t tonight. First off, every time I turn the game on/off it changes my settings, which I have to go off-line to change. Also, I saw a cop car hanging in the air for 20 seconds, then everyone else disappeared from my lobby. My button press responses are slow too. They should really fix it.

Yes, I was also having the same issue. I was trying to pass some time by queueing up for random jobs and I'd fall through the world and get DC to SP every time.

Is anybody else experiencing problems on PC? Free roam lobbies seem to be working fine for me, but I tried multiple times to join setups and I always get disconnected (message of everybody else had left).

Servers are way worst today.

Currently doing that mission where you have to crack a safe and steal the boat at the docks. Teammates are useless and I get overrun while hacking the safe. One teammate left so I spectace but I see 3 players I can look at, not 1...so I see a guy in a Hydra covering a guy hacking the laptop during Los Santos Connection. Yeah, I can see people doing another mission while I'm waiting for my own mission to finish. Also, jobs are f*cking broken. I can never get into a job on the first try (asks me to host or find a job, always putting me into a heist instead). This update brought some very annoying bugs.

It's getting worse the longer I'm on. Earlier it was just the main menu that I couldn't host missions. I would be dropped through the map.

 

Now when I try to join a contact mission on my phone I'm sent to a race called underpass everytime.

I have experienced more lag and disconnections than usual, but there has been more players too. What has annoyed to me the most is that yesterday and again today I needed to adjust the screen and agree to terms of services. And this means also I need to re-adjust the settings which is the annoying part.

It's been an hour,i managed to complete one single mission with huge lag spikes.Usually what happens is;everything disappears and i just stand in the middle of the road,then have to ALT+F4.Today is the worst.
