Does the Armored Kuruma only protect you on heists/contact missions?

Usually when I run heist setups and use the armoed Kuruma, I can run right into the middle of gunfire, kill everyone, and walk out untouched.

 

Today I tried using the Kuruma on the VIP work Hostile Takeover at the airport. I drove into the hangar in my armored Kuruma but I nearly died because the gunfire from the gunmen slaughtered me.

Here's something interesting: When you do any contact mission where the enemy has snipers, the snipers aim at your doors and shoot them in the spot where they can fall off. Had this happen to me a few times.

OT: It could've been that the game spawned your car with the windows down, which happens more times than you can think. Other than that there shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

pretty much, unless youre going for criminal mastermind, just sell the piece of sh*t. aint a contact mission where you need anything but a gun.

Players are smart (well, some), A.I is not.

it's not bullet proof, you can still die in a Kuruma. I love them, I have 7 of them on my main character, different colours etc .. just don't get too close.
