FUEL feature

OP you're an idiot... Plain and simple...

I've noticed, most of everyone who wants fuel in GTA are people/children who've never owned or driven a vehicle IRL, so they want to simulate every aspect of being an actual vehicle owner, even down to the tedious and boring aspects like emissions and fueling... Like are you serious? And what does them having a supercar over you not having one make things unbalanced? Or is it you want people to use a broader variety of cars more often? Or is it you'd like people to appreciate R* hard work and detail? Or is it you're just typing to type? You sound young and jelly....

We already do enough of the trash parts of being a vehicle owner: Maintenance, washing, insurance claims and storage costs... I hate doing those things IRL so what makes you think I want to do it in my leisure time... Look at features that were desired during the beloved 3D era: the Car Wash. It popped up in GTA IV and though the demand was years in practice the result was a couple hours of fun and never to be used again... The car wash in V is an actual famous locale/landmark and yet nobody gives a f*ck about it like fuel...

And where do you get off thinking this tedious and gameplay drag would balance things out? If anything, it would make things worse. Players agitated frequently at being stranded waiting on "help" not only leaving them vulnerable but as well as slowing down the gameplay action. Boo. GTA is fast paced and fueling, wel, isn't. And who cares if everyone has a supercar? Not me sir, and I sure as hell don't care about VIRTUAL environmental issues.... To me it sounds like you're broke, can't afford the toys everyone else has and wishes we all stoop down to your broke lifestyle. If all you can afford is a Dilettante, grind harder. If not kesh kerds....

Honestly, is this your first GTA because the way you ranted about fuel seemed like you've never been around other GTA fans/forums because that is the most frequently requested feature to date and equally the worst. Even R* themselves added fuel to San Andreas Beta and removed it due to being a [garbage] feature... So no. Hell to the naw, no. Be honest, you don't care about others taking time to "admire R* hard work", you just don't want to get rektd and outshined by people who have better items than you... Your excuse for adding fuel, sir, was the worst of them yet. Please leave.

Real GTA players will ignore this idea where as kids and lames who enjoy sh*t will enjoy this feature...trust me its gona be the worst :)

If this feature sucks soo much then tell me why there are thousands of downloads of this mods on 5mods.com , and that majority of the community rated it greatly?

Hell, if I'm not mistaken, the V section of theses forums used to support this feature.

I'm just assuming that the people who like this, are the people who also want to roleplay reallife in a videogame.
No, what you and everybody else here is doing is bash on OP with your "hilarious" ironies.

Seroiusly, I remember seeing this feature being requested all the way back in GTA: San Andreas, by these forums aswell.

Well maybe they did request this back in the days, but that was back in the days, Now is the present and people have realized how stupid fuel would be in an open world game like GTAO.

Care to explain why?

Had this been an option for GTAV SP, I wouldn't have given a sh*t about this.

If I want to go driving offroad on my mountain bike, I don't want to have to go back in town once in awhile to refuel it or if it runs out in the middle of the mountain, walk 400-500 meters just so I can call the mechanic for the bike again but with fuel.

Jerry can

In my opinion this would just be tedious and boring, having to stop once in awhile just to refuel the car.

it could be done in a way so you don't waste more than a couple of seconds at every refill

Imagine doing Pac Standard with this feature and then suddently having the bikes die on you about halfway up mount chilliad because there wasn't enough fuel in them, and now you have to walk rest of the path whille being shot on by cops and your 1mil you stole ends up being the minimum instead for each person.

Do you really think they would give us bikes without fuel??? Plus it's not like you can't jack any other car around

Or maybe you are being the VIP in this new freeroam thingy, and you are being chased by people out in the desert just for you car to run out and they getting a cheap kill on you because "You wasn't driving economic".

Refer to my replies above

I'm gonna be a bit dark here, but if I wanted GTAO to be more like reallife, I would just get a gun in reallife and pretend reallife is GTAO.

Well...we're talking about ONE feature, not the whole game, but if you're going to shoot people on your vicinity, then don't go blaming videogames, that's on you(also this joke was not of good taste)

Just need to add respawn to reallife and it all would be perfect, right?

Dude, really?

Although, I guess this all could depend on how much fuel you have in each car and what the rate it drains at is.

If I could drive around the map in a T20 10 times without having to fuel the car, then maybe ....

I wouldn't say 10 times because it would take over 100 minutes to empty the tank, making the feature meaningless, but maybe two laps(20 minutes, of full acceleration mind you)

How about this then?

Races.

Especially endurance races on tracks that don't pass by any gas station.

So fun right?

Being in the lead, or having a battle for the lead and suddently you run out of gas losing your lead, because you wasn't driving economic enough.

But I guess you could make a prop work like a gas station, but still what if you are battling for the lead and then you suddently have to stop and refuel the car.

But this won't have any point, because you are probably thinking about relpying with "They have to refuel in F1"

...

...

But I guess what I'm trying to say is that I want GTAO to be as far as possible away from Real Life mechanics as possible.

Because I don't want to play RL after coming home from RL.

It's like you would go to the movies to watch some pay thier bills, cook food, workout, etc and work at a work for 8 hours with absoulutly no action, comedy, romance or anything.

Just an 24 hour movie of someone doing what you already do in real life.

and with this, I have to go to work sadly.

Just insert a option if you want to have fuel consumption in the race, leave it off as default, that is all.

And dude, I said it already, it's just ONE f*ckING FEATURE, NOT the whole game to be realistic, stop exagerating with this BS of not wanting to play reality TV in your game blah blah blah, you're making yourself look stupid here.

HELL NO. Not in GTA.

What Rockstar really needs to do is use GTA assets to create a more serious series, in which they can include things like fuel consumption or the more weighty, consequence heavy driving of GTA IV.

It might be one feature, But if this gets in, there is going to be one more after that, and one more and one more.

In the end, Having to train to stay thin will be back.

Eating food like in SA? to have higher max health and if you eat to much you get fat so you have to train will be back. (and yes, I hated this)

There will probably be people who will push for more realistic crashes that you can't drive around after doing a head on collison with a tree.

One thing will lead to another thing.

It will be a endless chain of people wanting more and more realistic things.

This topic might be about one feature, But I'm thinking far ahead in to the future. That's just who I am, I think ahead not about now.

And that is why I hate this.

If R* adds this, They will eventually have to add more realism.

ANYONE who owns a car and has actually has to refuel IRL will quickly tell you how stupid, tedious and boring this is.. Watch, if it ever is implemented in GTA, those same people will hate it in 5 mins (Car Wash, Submerine, Animals, Underwater, Friends/Calls,...etc)

I know gas stations are logical, but imagine how f*cking annoying that would be.

Besides, I just imagine that's what the mechanic does: Refills your gas.

I tested this a wee while ago. I set my phone timer to alarm every 24 minutes (representing, two hours in game)

I turned the phone over and played as normal. I got caught out three times in a row and every time I was nowhere near a petrol station. Twice I was in the mountains. I would have to abandon my car or phone the mechanic.

Granted I would have a fuel gauge. But do you realise how restrictive that would be?

Here are times running low on fuel would ruin a game.

During a chase

Chasing a bounty

During a live event

During a mission

Being too far from a fuel station

Exploring or mucking around with players

During a race

During a daily challenge

It might be a novelty but after the tenth time of running out of juice in your top of the range car and having to abandon it? It'd get really tired, really fast.

Imo, instead of adding fuel to cars, we should instead replace all GTA$ Currency with FUEL UNITS. Then, maybe we'll have a chance of buying the new Lamborghini that's rumored to come in the "Film Lambos in your Garage" DLC.

HERE IN MY GARAGE, JUST BOUGHT THIS NEW LAMBORGHINI HERE.

I always thought there should be a fuel feature, so like the impound you can use it and not pay and get a 2 star wanted level and escape with free fuel, or pay for what you use.

Though knowing Rockstar expect a 3000% markup...

It would rather suck in this game if you have to like refilling every 30 or so minutes.

would be cool if they add some animations for that, but other than that, please no, no filling the gas in gta please.

... because gas stations won't attract trolls like they do at Eclipse Towers, Benny's/LSC and yachts.

Super cool suggestion.

Let me argue by comparing your idea with games that do strive for realism. There was this cop (or FBI) game that, for some reason, has a working fuel system. There's the bullsh*t of stopping in a gas station to prevent getting stuck out on foot (since there arent't any phones and you need to have flares to signal for help).

Let me get to the point, it's a dumb idea that will turn GTA into a chore. Why do we play games? To have fun, not refueling our gas tanks and putting up with those rising fuel rates. Next they'll suggest we sit down and do virtual taxes. Fun.

Imagine if you were in the gas station and a random pops nearby and blows up the entire thing while you were re-fuelling your car, wouldn't that be f*cking wonderful?

As said above by others users, video games are not supposed to be a chore.

I just had the best f*ckin idea on how to solve this so everyone can be happy, put an option in the menu that let's you turn on/off unlimited fuel.

But, put it with a 7 day timer. 7 real days. Or maybe a 1 time choice.

That way people who want to play with fuel can, while people who don't can as well.

And if someone later complains that playing with unlimited is unfair, we who play with unlimited can tell them to "shut the f*ck up and be happy you got your fuel in"

What do you think about the effect of this feature on gameplay?

Gas stations full of proximity mines. Would work quite well considering how the pumps explode.

No no thrice no. This isn't Gran Turismo for the nth time. We don't need fuel tanks, tire wear or pressure differentials, manual gear selection or brake balancing. Just keep it as it is R* cheers.

You know, I wouldn't mind all that if cars would run at their advertised speeds instead of being artificially locked in the 100~125mph range.

The call for realism in one insignificant aspect while blatantly disregarding the obviously unrealistic and more importantly, unfun aspect of vehicle mechanics in this game is laughable at best.

I would love a T20 to reach it's true top speed but I find that the map is already small as we can get anywhere by car within a couple of minutes. It would make races more intense relying on more skill so I give advertised speeds a thumbs up!

Lol I get that you want a more realistic game but all this would provide is a nuisance. No one wants to be interrupted while in the midst of a police chase by their goddam fuel tank being emptied. All of a sudden it would turn into Mad Max because no one would actually aim for the player, just for the fuel tank.

Honestly that wouldn't change much, noone aims for the player anyway they just try and lob a sticky on the car. even if your driving with the roof down and basically a sitting duck but people will still lob a dozen stickies trying to kill you,

Ms.AirSuperiority

The only "realism" update the cars need is a crash damage upgrade.

A supercar or sports car is, by definition, light and moderately fragile. If I'm being chased by one and I run it into a concrete median, off a bridge, into a truck, etc.. it should be significantly fu**ed.

Not saying it should be completely busted, but definitely make it unable to just up and chase me again.

Essentially a way to end a chase without sticky bombs and insurance.

This would help with "immersion" much more than a nagging fuel feature, and actually make people drive like they need to get somewhere in one piece.

Also, if you die in the game, your account should be deleted because in real life there is no such thing as respawn... This is a game, no one wants to be worried about fuel while they are doing other important things...

If you die in the game, you should die in real life

I'd rather have turn signals and voice GPS.

The turn signals are automatic and based on your GPS route. All I want.

Fuel is a good idea... In SP. Online, not so much. Fuel or not, nobody's going to risk their asses getting killed in a sh*tty Prius. Nothing would change in car preferences, besides probably how rich the community is, and I doubt fuel can make a serious dent. Plus, mining gas stations.

Even if you made the Prius have infinite gas and all supercars only last 12 seconds, people will still take supercars. Even giants doesn't drive a Prius. I own a Voltic and even I think it's sh*t.
