Pacific standard - Highway to boat problem

Hey. I got a question for you.

When ive played the pacific standard heist with others, they bring the kuruma out as escape car instead of the bikes. Then they proceed to take the highway route to the boat after picking up the guy with the cash at the bank. This works perfectly.

When i do it though, the mission fails when i approach the area around Eclipse Towers. Out of area!

What am i doing wrong? Is it something i need to do before heading for the highway?

You need to take the bikes. Once you have the bikes, then you can go to your garage and grab your Kuruma. You have to have all four players on a bike to hit the checkpoint.

I believe if the heist fails due to "out of area", you haven't got on the bikes yet. Even if you don't plan on using them, all players need to be on a bike at once to progress the heist & bring up the next objective.

EDIT: Beaten to it...

Getting the kuruma is not a problem, i just blow up the bikes and get it from the garage right nearby. Its after ive picked up the guy with the money at the bank the problem occours, when im driving from the bank towards Eclipse Towers.

In sessions where this works we havent all gotten on the bikes. First to approach the bikes usually blow them up before anyone can sit on them. But ill try this next time im doing the finale. Thanks

If you have not got ON a bike before blowing it up you will get out of area, you need to get on bike, then get kuruma and got to the bank

then it will allow you to carry on past Eclipse Towers.

What kind of strategy is this? I've never heard of that. The strategy I know is bank > bikes > take bikes to Kuruma > drive Kuruma to Raton Canyon.

I see your problem.

Each player needs to go through the yellow checkpoints. So when you pick up the guy at the bank, you need to drive him through the alley route to the bikes, and then proceed to the canyon

You won't see the checkpoints but the guy in the bank will.

The easiest way is to have the money guy stay in the bank and have him run out and in so that mission doesn't fail. One or two run to the bikes. The guys at the bikes just blow them up then commit suicide. Everyone spawns by the bikes, short run into the apartment and you're home free.

You don't need to get on the bikes, just make sure they all explode and fail on purpose to get everyone to the bike location.

another way that i've noticed that work's (if you can get everyone else to join you), once you get the bikes is once you leave the area where the bikes are hidden, go right then take the first left and go to you encounter a cop car and a ramp, take the cop car and get as many as your fellow players into the car and take the great ocean highway and go all the way until you come upon the really long bridge take a right onto the first dirt road before the bridge and your pretty much at the boat.

The easiest and quick way is for 1 player to go straight to bikes, don't worry about killing a bunch of cops just the cops in your way. Blow up bikes then commit suicide when it says head to the canyon. If done right you will see yourself on a bike while loading to restart screen. You will have no cops on you for a limited time so preferably 1 of the crowd control run straight to garage and you will see a blue spot by garage ( to get to garage quicker the guy getting kuruma should not be wearing heavy combat ) because you are not wanted by cops you will be able to get right into your garage. At the same time the player with the money should run straight towards the bikes but take a left before you get to bikes and hide in the corner by the stairs so you don't lose any money. Other players can shoot down helicopter if they want. 1 player puts sticky bombs on motorcycle and blows them up when everyone is in kuruma and ready to go. Make sure all bikes get destroyed before leaving. I drive off road since I have plenty of time on timer and I don't get shot at or worry about crashing as much. Follow yellow checkpoints so there is no police on you when you get into dinghy. I usually get to dinghy with more than 2 minutes to spare and usually get perfect money or very close to perfect money.

Why dont you guys just get on the bikes and drive... it's not that hard. You might lose like... $25,000 max... hardly worth the trouble of going all over the place just to get an armored car.

Actually you don't. Just blow them up head to your garage.

Don't go up the highway to the boat. If you miss the checkpoints, the game will error out (on PS4, CE-34878-0) for one of the 4 players and fail the heist. Drive the checkpoints.

This. I can't believe it took so many responses before someone finally had the right answer.

Is there any chance that you actually take a boat to the dinghy's at the docks. Has anyone ever thought of this? Instead of taking the road to the waypoint everyone goes to the beach and hauls ass on the jet skis lol!

How I do it:

After getting the money, one or two members with heavy vests go outside and kill the cops. Unarmored member and the one member carrying money waits inside.

After all cops outside are dead, the two members inside run out to the sidewalk, then three members go back in. The fourth, wearing a heavy vest, makes the run to the bikes and blows them up, then kills himself.

The entire team respawns at the bikes. One member BOLTS for the garage. It's possible to beat the wanted level and get directly into the garage even with a heavy vest slowing you down. Once the driver is inside the garage and get the Kuruma, another members blows up the bikes. Then everybody loads up and away they go.

You don't have to get on the bikes, you just have to get them out of the equation.

My post is pretty much the same as this post. Yes a player can make it to the garage with heavy combat clothing but they have no time to waste. This method I believe is the easiest method of doing pacific standard finale. Not everyone is good on a motorcycle, it may be ridiculously easy for me but difficult for someone else.

Ha ha. Cock Star patched this with a misleading message "so and so has left the Heist." You must hit all the check points, and going to the highway means you don't get any of the check points in Mt. Chillead. Went round and round with Cock Star on the phone about this deception but didn't get anywhere.

Very difficult if you aren't in one of the first two positions in heavy armor. My group plans it out so that the guy who runs for the car isn't wearing heavy armor (and isn't carrying the cash since he will be the driver). You also don't want to blow up the bikes before getting into the garage. Out of an abundance of caution, the other players dont even move until the driver gets into the garage (though I'm not sure this is necessary. However, when I do ALL of this, we always get in the first time).

Blowing up the bikes makes the game skip the part where it checks whether all players are on a Lectro, and spawns the Dinghy straight away.

The downsides of this method are that a) You can't make sure everyone has a parachute since it comes with the Lectro, so you'll have to use alternative routes and b) The cops start to spawn as soon as the Lectros are blown up (as opposed to waiting until everyone is on a Lectro), so if the guy fetching the Kuruma needs to be fast.

This is just flat wrong. The only thing you ever need to do with the bikes is blow them up. Once to spawn the guy with the money over, and once after (so you can then use your Karuma that you have stored in the garage next door). Use the bikes only if you intentionally want to make this more difficult.

Why dont you guys just get on the bikes and drive... it's not that hard. You might lose like... $25,000 max... hardly worth the trouble of going all over the place just to get an armored car.

Buy the property at 0604 Las Lagunas. No need to go "all over the place." SImply jump the wall and go into your apartment. Not only are the bikes somewhat harder, but you will lose cash, often more than $25k. God help you if you get knocked off. You want to do this for fun, no problem. But it is decidedly the worst way to do it.

either that or blow up the bikes. its so much simpler if everybody just sits on a bike until the next check point appears, get off the bikes and then just go to their appartments but they'd rather blow up the bikes go figure.

Just did this on Sunday:

One member ran through the checkpoints while the other three waited in the bank. He got to the bikes and blew them and himself up. We all spawn by the bikes, blow those up while one gets his Kuruma, we all drive (through the intended route) to the boat.

Personally, I like grabbing a random police car and taking the coastal highway, but that's just my preference.

I've used the bikes on the intended route, the over-the-hill route for the Elite Challenge; police car/Riot Van/random PV; both with variations of the intended route and the coastal route. I've even taken the old-gen under-the-map method. The only method I never tried was the helicopter-spawn method before it was patched.

I can handle the bikes, but I hate when the 1200-horsepower police SUVs can make sudden road-blocking moves and brush you (or any of your team mates) and you lose all that time (and likely health & money)
