aVisitingSalmon
Hello everyone, I'm posting today to share my ideas for Grand Theft Auto VI. My proposed setting for the game is St. Louis, Missouri. Before I get started allow me to assure you that St. Louis is not a small town because I'm sure many are already thinking that as they read this, I'll make this quick for you all. Here's the description of an independent city, "In the United States, an independent city is a city that does not belong to any particular county. Of the forty-one independent U.S. cities, thirty-eight are in Virginia, whose state constitution makes them a special case. The three exceptions are Baltimore, Maryland; St. Louis, Missouri; and Carson City, Nevada. The U.S. Census Bureau uses counties as its base unit for presentation of statistical information, and treats independent cities as county equivalents for those purposes." So basically St. Louis County and St. Louis are two separate places. Most cities are one with their county. When you look up the population of St. Louis you'll see 319,294(58th most populated in the nation) because they only measure the 66 sq mi independent city(St. Louis County and St. Louis combined is 589 sq mi). When St. Louis County and St. Louis are combined it has a population of 1,320,738(9th most populated in the nation). Character 1 So now that we have that all established lets talk about my idea for the game! East St. Louis is well known for being full of crime (1 in 7 people fall victim to violent crime here), but it is also known for it's corrupt police force. I see a lot of people saying they want to be able to play as a police officer in GTA so I thought E. STL would be great for that. It wouldn't be much fun to be a completely good cop so how about you play as one of the corrupt ones? GTA V had three playable characters, so in GTA VI we could have one of the playable characters being a corrupt E. STL cop. If you're not aware, East St. Louis and St. Louis are two separate cities. They border each other though so they're close enough. Rockstar would actually be reimagining the city so technically they could make East St. Louis and St. Louis all one city. I'll talk about my next character idea below. East St. Louis Character 2 For the second playable character idea I have a north St. Louis resident who takes part in a lot of criminal activity and constantly goes across the river to East St. Louis to do "business." In the process of "working" in East St. Louis he has a run in with character 1 and they begin working together slowly rising to prominence in the criminal world and eventually starting an entire organization with many members. Even though character 1 is an East St. Louis police officer, he may be able to work with the bordering St. Louis police force and get you inside information, ways into prisons, etc. North St. Louis Character 3 My idea for a third character is optional in my opinion, but I think he would make the game more enjoyable. This can be a guy who moved crazy amounts of drugs in Vice City and then moved to Gateway City(St. Louis) in order to leave that life behind him. He lives in one of the wealthy St. Louis neighborhoods in a beautiful mansion (bought with his illegally made money of course.) Three of the richest suburbs in the entire nation are in St. Louis. Those suburbs are Frontenac, Ladue, and Town And Country. Even though he made a lot of cash in the drug circles back in Vice City, he's beginning to run low on money at this point and needs to bank some more. This is where characters 1 & 2 come in, he needs to get back into the game, but being in a new city and having years gone by since he was involved his credibility isn't as major as it once was so he finds both of them after hearing of a thriving and growing new "business" among the criminal world; characters 1 & 2 allow him the chance to prove himself to them and they begin working together doing much larger jobs. A Ladue home St. Louis St. Louis, despite its perception is a large city with plenty of urban area to explore, plenty of criminals, and plenty of things to do. I'm sick of video games and movies using mainstream American cities like NYC, LA, Miami, Chicago, etc. so lets move past that and try something new. If GTA VI was based in St. Louis there could be both a more dynamic weather system and seasons which could keep the game fresh for players. We experience below zero temperatures and over a hundred degree weather in STL. We've seen enough of coastal and desert climates in GTA and Liberty City alone has been featured three times. I think many of you would enjoy a GTA game in St. Louis even if you're not sure about how you see this city. Trust me! Aerial video of St. Louis Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge Delmar Loop Downtown Riverfront Lambert International Airport Metrolink (From far to near) Downtown St. Louis, St. Louis County + St. Louis suburbs, and Clayton Forest Park(twice the size of Central Park) St. Louis from the Arch PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK GUYS! THANKS! Edited December 24, 2015 by aVisitingSalmon ClaudX

aVisitingSalmon
What's the music gonna be like? I would imagine it would be like every other GTA game. There are stations for everything here. I'm not sure if you're being serious or sarcastic making fun of the fact that its in the Midwest and the surrounding areas are country. I mean it'd be interesting to see what detail or other specifications you would put into the radio, given what you already put in for the characters, locale, etc.

Well I personally would add a classic rock station, modern rock station, an R&B station, rap station, two country stations, two talk radio stations(one for each political party), a pop station, and a variety station being that it accurately represents what we have here. I'm sure there are more stations than that, but I rarely listen to the radio so I'm not sure exactly. I can't really tell you the exact music that they play simply because I don't really listen to the radio like I said. I have Bluetooth on my stereo lol but what did you think of the other ideas I mentioned? Edited December 27, 2015 by aVisitingSalmon
