Online Racing: Is the Blade really that useless in races these days?

I have a Dominator, and a Blade for a long time now. Supposedly the Blade for turny tracks, due to it's acceleration, but when going over bumps, it feels simply terrible, even with off-roads. I almost never use it these days.

What I want to say is: Is the Dominator all I need (even on turny tracks) or should I practice more in the Blade for the possibility of getting a better lap time in turny tracks?

The Dominator is all you need. If you get good with it, you will always beat your Blade times. I don't care how many turns there are, the Dominator is faster.

Blade is good because of its traction. It makes it stable and consistent. That unfortunately doesnt make up for its lack of power (like the stirling GT).

Main character races a blade or Blackfin. 2nd character uses a dominator. Honestly I feel most confident when using my Blade. Plus it's just a bad ass gasser :)

I don't remember the last time I went hotlappig with my Blade, lol, but I've always prefered the Dominator. Thank you. :)

Im a good racer man but you may want to take at least a few more opinions from other people lol. My word isn't law, some others may think it is nessesary to own both cars for racing.

Heh, alright, alright, then board not closed.

Someone who knows the Blade very well, and can speak about it going over bumps?

I use my blackfin instead of Dominator, way more stable performing car and its fun watching everyone in their dominators spin out.

Noooes, thank you, but I'm speaking of a higher racing level, no spin outs, just better lap times. :/

I think it boils down to what you're comfortable driving.

Honestly, I have both, and I'd never part with my Blade. I love that car for racing, and it accelerates out of corners like a dream.

Then again, I have a garage full of muscle cars, and both them and Sports Classics are my absolute favorites in this game.

You are 100% correct though. If you know what you're doing with the Dominator, no other muscle car can touch it. Not even close.

I race my blade a lot and can say I've never been frustrated with bumps while racing this car. Did u change the suspension? I kept stock suspension cause again it's a Gasser. I do know that I had a horrible experience with my blade when I took its ducktail spoiler off. The handling was just wonky without it.

Never EVER take off the spoiler of a car you are going to race with.

When I try to climb a bump vertically (meaning those at the sides of the road), it seems to have a hard time, and sometimes even oversteer a bit. With the Dominator I can go over the side bumps continuously with no problem. :/

Dont have any issues with the blade and bumps. Its me then possible to beat dominators with it.

Oddly enough I would not pick it for a track with lots of slow corners, it suits faster tracks I think.

Dominator is fast though, provided you can live with the oversteer. I'd take that on a tight track over the blade because you can get it through the corners faster by using the oversteer.

I always use the blade because on unknown tracks that's the fastest car for me. I usually always get beaten buy one or two pro guys in dominators and beat everyone else. I'll take that because I would be lower down in a dominator (if I owned one).

I dunno, I've won or place second in the Blade a lot of times.

I may be misreading, but are you saying the Stiling GT is the Blade of the Classics class? Cause unless your on a race that's mostly highway or straights, the Stirling GT completely dominates Classics hands down. Meanwhile in Muscles it's more questionable if the Blade or Dominator is better.

Blade's main strong points over the Dominator are that it's more consistent (easier to handle) and has great acceleration, but not as powerful overall as the Dominator. There are tracks where the Blade can outshine the Dominator, especially ones where the Blade can really utilize it's acceleration, but I'd still take the Dominator in most cases just because I'm more used to it.

Not just anybody can race the Dominator successfully. It is more of a challenge, but once you get used to it, it's unbeatable. In the hands of the right driver, the Dominator is the undisputed king of muscle. I wish this wasn't true, as I'm not a ford fan, and don't like mustangs, but it is.

Not always, on maps with a lot of cornering, if driven by masterful hands the blade will dominate (excuse my pun)

John The Grudge

I think the Dukes is the best. I've certainly had the most success with it and I prefer it to the Dominator. I haven't tried a fully upgraded Blade but I honestly don't remember the last time I got beaten by one.

I think that the Blade were made for 3/4 miles rather than for circuit racing (i take experience from my standard height, fully modified Blade with turbo to kind of simulate a supercharger). The Dominator is quite hard to beat and i haven't really been able to keep up with serious Dominator drivers with either my Blade, my natural aspirated Blackfin or my wingless natural aspirated Dukes.

Here is what I know, what I've experienced myself.

The Dominator is king of the Muscle class, if you can get the hang of it, if you actually can handle back end, and prevent it from sliding out on you, prevent all that wheel spin when you slam on the accelerator, then you can and will consistently beat your laptimes you've put down in any other muscle car, on any track, if you can do that for an entire race, and avoid all the other stuff during a race, then you have a very good chance of finishing high, if not winning, because most people can't handle that back end.

The Dominator is just raw power, and it's hard to make it go in the right direction sometimes, I personally have huge issues with this car because I prefer cars that react better to the input I give them, and not slide their ass out every time I go around a corner, but I also know that when testing for a replacement, that one that one rare lap where I actually didn't have any problems for a change, it was faster then the other cars I've tried so far.

Definitely the Dominator, it goes too far to say it's OP, but it's hands down the best Muscle car on tarmac.

I can,I prefer this car waaay ovet the Blade.

I'd prefer advices from people that are in competitive racing crews btw, not from people that race randoms, sorry. :/

I think Dominator takes it, lol.

I believe the Blade has far more consistent handling than a Dominator and it won't try and kill you for no reason. I haven't had any trouble with it and bumps and it's my default choice for a muscle race. I feel like it turns way better than other muscle cars and combine with the fact that more often than not you're first off the line and ahead of the pack going in to the first corner, it works. In my experience I have single-handedly murdered Dominators on several occasions although I would more put that down to the driver than the car itself.

I think that in racing, what matters most is consistency. The blade will consistently not try and slide out and eat you for breakfast hence I prefer it. If you're going for the fastest lap times and you're really good you'll need a Dominator but I feel like on the real track environment where there's competition and only a lap or two (instead of spending hours hot-lapping) the Blade is a far better vehicle.

My record is 1,168 wins to 810 losses, for reference, if it matters to you.

I had a Dominator, but sold it when the Blade came out. I race quite frequently with my Blade and I find it faster then the Dominator. That's just me though. Everybody is gonna have different opinions and feels.

If said track has some long straights with a few turns the Dominator always has the advantage. Always...

Short tracks... with with lots of turns or Rally style races. The Dominator is no longer dominating anything and alot of muscle cars can keep up with it. This is where the blade really shines as well as a few other muscle cars.

If you play tracks that favor certain cars.. then you get exactly that.

Thats also my take on Broughys vids. He does all his test on the same track. If he tested muscle cars on a short track at the docks or a rally style race.. Its just NOT the same and everything would be different.

blade : wise handling for muscle car , V8 engine , great acceleration and finally , one TL:DL explanation

The Blade is also somewhat special in how hard it is to ram off the road. Being a very back heavy car, the Blade can shrug off most rear-end rams and attempts to PIT with ease. This makes it a good car for attempting to evade police, or in racing, as other players attempting to take down a Blade will find it very difficult to force the Blade off the road. Crash deformation only furthers this, by being able to take large amounts of head-on collisions before smoking, and axles being damaged is not very likely in normal circumstances.

the flaw is that blade is top speed is lack to keep up and difficulty to see the road in first person ( hood view minimize this problem )

dominator : one of fastest muscle , high torque v8 , decent acceleration & acceptable durability

the flaw is dominator has typical muscle car's weakness : fishtail and immense oversteer ( even more problematic in rain ) due to raw engine supplies at which is bad choice for inexperienced player

I have no problems with the Dominator, I must say two things.

1. *kiddy part comes out* HAH MY RECORD'S BETTER.

2. *kiddy part closed* I have a much better record, but because I used to race only randoms. Record doesn't really matter if you're in a racing crew, lol but thank you. :)

However, to the point, as you said, racing is more about consistency, I already have consistency with the Dominator, what I'm trying to ask, is that if someone that is consistent with the Blade, can beat in some tracks someone who is consistent with the Dominator. :/
