Can someone help me make this game work?

Bought this, started playing single player. Got to the torture mission, got about halfway through where Michael's looking in the house for the dude with the beard, game crashes with 'failed initialization' error. Try the mission again, it crashes with the same error again at more or less the same spot...not exactly, but thereabouts. Try again, crash again, etc., so just can't play single player anymore. Also had to do the torture mission 5 times in a row, so that was pretty terrible.

 

So, switched to Online, but can't do that either because it keeps getting the failed initialization randomly. It's worked a few hours before crashing, and it's crashed literally within 1 second of logging in.

 

Also, idk if it's related, but every time I've successfully completed a heist, it boots me back to the single player mode instead of reloading with my team. It actually boots me back to single player a lot and loads into completely empty online sessions.

 

Things I've checked -

 

My drivers are up to date

I've verified files

Tried reinstalling 3 times

Defragging and all that

This business -

Other stuff I can't think of right atm.

 

Anyone have any ideas?

 

Edit; Forgot to mention I've already had an open ticket with R* for days. Got a form response pasted going on a week ago and nothing since.

You might have overheating issue, if not ps problem.

PS is brand new, and I installed a new water cooling system at the same time.

Then check if something like ram sticks is loose.

Monitor cpu temp in game using msi ab and Riva tuner.

Any issues running other games? Could be other programs that are running that are conflicting.

All firm, and it usually runs from 55-60 degrees C while ingame, same temp as most other games.

Nope Tried running it after closing everything, and it still kept crashing.

I had this problem twice I narrowed it down to a mod I had installed ,took out the mod and it never happened again.

I'm done trying to f*ck with it. This game is clearly sh*t. Suppose it's too late to get a refund, too. Figures. Never buying anything from R* again.

Have you overclocked your graphics card? If so, try reverting it to the default settings.

Also, try changing which DX the game is drawing from in the graphics settings.

 

We are trying to help, it is frustrating, but throwing your toys out of the pram will not fix your issue. It seems isolated, but if we can fix it means we can help again if someone else has the problem.

 

A thread where we are all nice and the OP has the strop, who would have thought?
