I like how all these people talking about how they've blown literally hundreds of millions of dollars on crap and have less than a mil in the bank basically prove my point, and the point many other players have made as well. You show in your own posts what you are wasting your money on, and most of it is useless, trivial junk. You really need over 30 Pegasus vehicles? How many do you even use? Having all the lowriders is another waste. They are sh*tty, useless, and very expensive cars. And wasting money blowing up personal vehicles in free roam or just free roam fights in general, I can't even think of a better way to waste money. You literally get nothing out of it, except the ability to waste hundreds of thousands of dollars per hour. Do you really enjoy it that much?

Personally, I enjoy having a ton of money, AND all the crap I want like Yachts, Pegasus vehicles, properties, etc. AND kicking ass in missions, survivals, death matches, races, you name it. All my favorite activities are very lucrative, and that's a big part of the reason I enjoy it. Fighting with trolls, hackers, and squeakers in free roam for literally no reward and wasting a fortune to do it just sounds like a complete and utter waste, not to mention moronic to the core. But hey, continue to do what you do, just don't complain when you have no money; it is obvious why you don't and why you never will.

It's worth it to keep at least 10 million in the bank.

10 million should be your absolute base money. At this point, that's poor (if you're a day one player).

LOL.

She does sound ridiculous, doesn't she?

Not really. In fact, she's entirely correct. It's absolutely worth it to keep somewhere in the region of 10 million or more in your bank. Obviously, play time being what it is, 10 mil won't be baseline for everyone. I'm pushing toward ten now, from 7.7, but I know I want to make maybe a million's worth of modifications to my yacht and get a custom apartment, and assuming the Tampa isn't free, one of those plus all the mods.

In essence, you should look at the prices of things that have come out before and plan ahead. R* showed that with Ill-Gotten Gains, they weren't afraid to post stuff around 10 million mark. Hence why 10 mil is currently a good baseline to have. If, in the next update, we start seeing things for 15 mil, then 15 is going to be the new, efficient baseline.

And one final thing, and this is something which pretty much drives me insane every time I hear it: You are not MAKING money when you sell off your personal vehicles to pay for other stuff! You are losing it! What you have essentially done is paid money for something which was useless to you (because let's face it, if it was something you found useful you wouldn't be selling it) and then sold it to get half your money back, with nothing else to show for it. In other words, take the amount you spent on the vehicle, divide it in half, and you have basically just wasted that much money when you could have saved it and used it to pay for something else, WITHOUT selling anything. I mean how are so many people so stupid not to see that? The math is very simple.

VIP aside, it's worth keeping $1M in the bank for some newly-released item you just discovered out you can't live without.

Simple question.

Do you think it is worth it to keep a million dollars in the bank in order to access V.I.P. status?

Or is it a waste, and that money would be better spent on something else?

yes it would be worth it as long as you earned it or r* gave it to you or you bought it with shark cards, but blow some of it on your character so you could enjoy it. :santa:

Personally I'd save up and if something decent comes up worth buying then get it. By then you might have saved up enough to buy whatever you want and keep V.I.P status.

I've got 40 days playtime, 2 characters levels 290 and 212. I've made 64.9 million dollars total. Been playing since Feb 2014 totally legit. Having $50 mil in savings seems pretty ridiculous.....

Reality check time. Everything we blow our money on in GTA is trivial junk. Its not like any of this money goes towards further education or retirement. I dont get the point of saving virtual currency for the sake of having some for a rainy day. Enjoy it. Spend it like there is no tomorrow.

I think so just so I can grind VIP Work.

It doesn't pay much better than grinding missions, but it's something new and I don't have to deal with those load times :/

If you plan on using VIP as a means to generate income then yes, absolutely. If you just plan on running around as a VIP in freemode your going to just wind up wasting money.

Depends on what you use it for.

Which is fine, as long as the person who has this philosophy, doesn't turn around when the next update comes out screaming some lame cash card conspiracy cause they can't afford this or that.

Don't save for rainy days (updates) don't bitch and moan that things are too expensive.

If you have adequate funds in your bank, doing heists, contact missions, and other activities is not "grinding". It's "I'm playing the game and hey look R* gave me some more money".

What your sense of "adequate funds" is, is up to you. The tools to make money are there, no one should feel stressed or forced to grind when a new update drops. It's been two years. Your character shouldn't be scrappin' to grab a few bucks from a convenient store or gang attack crates. You should have moved up in the world. Part of being successful is financial independence, which doesn't mean getting rid of your money like it's infected. The latest update shows you where R* thinks your characters finances should be.

I've been playing since the start and have only made $22 million. I want to know what the hell people are doing that claim they've made $100 million legit or that $10 million is some chump change I should always have on hand. I don't have the time to play the game for hours every day like it's my job.

Never really thought about it. Got rid of all my bonds and I'm sitting at 130m after buying the yacht. I also have every Pegasus vehicle, from the golden Luxor to the box truck.

I should add that I only play about 3-4 hours a week. I'd like to send a thanks to all the former hookers the are in a better place now.

You have never seen a post like that from me Miss... I Completely agree. Plus we have usually enough fore warning an update is coming out to start the saving process for some of the new content. Worse case scenario I dont have the funds on release day and it gives me something to work towards. Its nice to have something when it drops but I am not too worried if I have to wait. It also gives me the time to do some research and see wether its worthwhile and what I want.

Definitely - I mean, it's not like you're spending the money is it?

Being a VIP also makes it easier to get money, and you can spawn a Buzzard (which is brilliant for someone like me - to the point of almost being unfair). I think it's great. It's also a lone wolf's dream come true - suddenly all those 2 person vehicles are possible to use with bodyguards.

Besides, I would feel very poor with under 1M in the bank. I stopped playing for a while and had 15M. Now I'm down to 4m, and I feel pretty poor now to be honest. I can't imagine dipping under 1M.

Also, to everyone curious about Miss Malevolent's money being legitimate or not, I'm 99% sure it is. She just must play differently and do different things. Take me as an example: I'm a day one player, so I should have much more money than I have right now. But I bought literally every Pegasus vehicle in the game, and I also play a lot of free mode (which is a massive money drain). Factor in that I like to fly helicopters too, then there's insurance costs, etc.

If Miss Malevolent didn't buy everything, didn't/doesn't play as much free mode, and doesn't blow up cars, then she could easily have much more money than someone like myself (who hasn't preserved as much money as I could have).

This is such a stupid question. You should always strive to have AT LEAST $10 million minimum in your account at all times. VIP or not.

I have never glitched (got dropped money which was wiped) and up until the last update had nearly $70 million legit from just playing.

I have everything I want (except the Roos) and it's a great feeling seeing a new DLCs without worrying about costs.

A loose goal is to get back to $50 million after dropping made stacks on this DLC

Yes, the fun of having bodyguards wiping out anyone who comes near you is great. "Why are they all shootinq me?" Because you're interfering with their paycheck.

Actually I usually keep 2-3 million, but I just went on a buyinq spree and fell below a mil. I actually miss it after 2 days of V.I.P.

I'd also say it's much easier to keep making money if you have friends who play, at least for grinding missions. You'll be doing the same missions a lot if you want to make a lot of money, so having some company can help make it less tedious.

Actually I should probably get grinding myself soon. I'd left the game for quite a while, so there are still some things I haven't bought (lowriders, new apartment, etc.). I've only got 4M, which is low enough as it is.

But then again, it's so much easier to just cause mayhem in free mode. I've already grinded the missions so much by now, plus it'd solo. Oh well, I'll get it done. I can't have some major update pop up, but have nothing to buy stuff with.

it may be worth as " trump card " during freemode battles , you could take advantage of vehicles , bullshark ( better than brucie's delivered since VIP themselves are dropping it ) and armor

not to mention ghost organization , in order to momentarily turn tables if your organization are overwhelmed
