IMO Schafter V12s Aren't Worth It

Now before you guys light me up, please try to understand my perspective and reasoning behind that statement.

All I'm interested in is making money. I don't fool around in Freeroam doing PVP and what not, so I can't speak to the car's abilities in that area. What I can talk about though is its capabilities in missions.

Before I post the negatives, I want to talk about the positives:

- Low cost - 100k for the V12 unarmored is an amazing value for what you're getting. 1 of the fastest cars in the game, sleek looks, decent customization, good bang for the buck in the sports class

- Nice customization on the armored version

- Sick engine sound

- Fastest way to carry 4 people on the ground

Now the negatives (mostly for the armored version):

- Weak windows - The AI will break these windows like nothing. Even with handguns so I shudder at the thought of what players could do to them. I'd barely call them armored.

- There's nothing the armored version can do that the Zentorno can't do better in reverse - For missions like LS Connection and even easy stuff like Pier Pressure, the AI will chew right through your glass.

- The normal V12 is in the sports class - For racers that already own a Massacro, Jester, Elegy, there's no reason to buy this car, unless you only plan on going in a straight line.

I have a little buyer's remorse after buying this car (armored version). Its not that I don't like it, its just that it really doesn't do anything that something else does better. Its cool that we have 50 car slots now, because otherwise I think these 2 cars might be a waste of space. Again, for someone that is interested in grinding money via contact missions, get yourself a Zentorno for 400k more, or a Kuruma for only 200k more, or if you really want to go all out, get an attack chopper. Don't buy the V12 for armor, and stick with your normal sports car over the unarmored version if you're on the fence.

You must not have heard....

The S-V12 is the new king in both Sports and Sedans.

Sedans yeah. Middle of the road Sports car outside of the straight line.

I like my v12 swb schafter lots, drive everywhere sightseeing with it. Best thing i got for about 100k.

I love the engine grumble. Just very disappointed in the windows. (Armored version)

I don't think any of the new armored variants are worth it but the civ versions are.

Indeed. The low price on the V12 unarmored is justifiable, but not the armored one.

I love it. Would i have one if we had only one garage? That's a hard question. Bikes, lowriders, muscles, supers and all the wacky ones i want to have.... Possibly no.

SWB Armored V12 is definitively worth it if you want to dominate sedan races (which are not as rare as you might think).

Thing is, there is no contact mission where you need to take a direct rocket shot. At least no mission I've ever ground out.

As you clearly stated that it's your opinion, I will not say you are wrong. I will say it makes a decent freeroam car* and a great choice for certain freeroam events. Unlike the Zentorno or Kuruma, there aren't loads of players that have a mindset to destroy them on sight simply because they exist.

*= The bullet-resistant windows aren't as good as the Kuruma's in missions/heists, but it has the ability to withstand a brief encounter with most players (using guns and explosives) better than either the Kuruma or Insurgent which are best suited to defending from one or the other.

I love the armored V12 Schafter

It can take a rocket and keep going. Its really fast and its bullet proof windows can take a few shots too. Its perfect for free roam and avoiding cheap shot kills from cheap shot players.

Basically it will stop that one cheap ass bitch from getting a random kill on me when i least expect it. As this has already been proven to me many times a already in a few days.

At least it can take more than a couple of bullets though, unlike that ... which costs 2,000,000$.

The windows aren't Kuruma style yeah, but it'll still give you a chance to get away before they break. At least its got more armour than that anyway ...

Because it's fast as hell and destroys every other vehicle in the sedan class.

This is exactly what I'm getting at. It may be a good choice for Freeroam PVP, but like I said, that isn't what I do.

Someone who is thinking about taking this car as a workhorse to get them from mission to mission while they grind cash should pass on it. That in essence is the point I'm trying to make.

Spending 325k and then feeling uncomfortable about taking it into dangerous missions is a bad look.

Wait so the armored version is faster than the unarmored variant? I would of though the armored variant would have been slower considering the extra wait the armor adds

The Armored one is a Sedan. The normal V12 is a Sports.

I do most of my missions with Street bikes Or muscle cars anyways.. which offer far less protection the V12 Schafter. Relying on a said vehicle to do all the work and make you invincible really takes away from the game play.

I personally never use OP vehicles for missions. It makes missons waaaaay to boring. But there are a few heist set up where i might crack out the Kuruama.

My point is tho.. The V12 Schafter has its uses. It really is well worth it for me.

The "worth it" part is subjective. I bought one because I liked the look, the speed, and it's properties that make it a good freeroam vehicle to complement my Kuruma and Insurgent. It's a lot more useful than any of my Lowriders which all cost 2-3 times as much.

I've made (not hacked) my millions (currently 18.9) and I'd like to be to go as long as I can without grinding any more. I just do Daily Objectives and whatever heists/missions/FR events/PvP modes that I want to do and make enough, over time, to keep me occupied and entertained.

Tipping my hat to you sir. I like to back it in, spray everyone in the place then cruise to the mission's end with very little difficulty lol.

Well see the lowrider is completely aesthetic. When you buy one of those, you're buying it purely for style. With this Armored V12, you're buying it for protection as it really doesn't offer much in style further beyond its brothers and sisters. I knew what I was getting into but I bought it anyway because it was new. If I can save someone with my mindset the money then the thread served its purpose.

I'm not knocking the car, I'm just saying the money is better spent elsewhere if you're looking for real protection in a PVE environment.

I love the new armoured cars but for missions you should get the Kuruma.

The windows aren't that good against NPCs which is why a Kuruma is better if you're into sitting inside a car the whole mission.

Kurumas cannot survive explosions and you can still kill the player with a Combat MG or snipe them if you remember where the window gaps are so they're not that good for free-mode.

It is my go to car now for free roam. Classy and has enough protection if some one tries to shoot me in a drive-by. Much better than the Cog and Baller versions.

The V8 is brilliant value and in both missions and online has the speed, which can be as good as armour. The Kuruma is indeed the perfect, par excellence mission grinder. NPCs will not use explosive. The police chopper gun seems penetrative (I think), but nothing beats the Kuruma in a mission. In that Merryweather docks mission I climbed the stairs in the Kuruma and used it to shield me while I opened the safe (laid down some mines too).

I was driving a crew members armoured one while trying to tolerate the stupid VIP missions yesterday and it was totally unimpressive.

Cops managed to take full heavy amour off me in 1 shot through an armoured car... Waste of time and money
