Why isn't the Tampa available yet?

It's a surprise gift for logging in on Xmas Eve as far as we know so far.

 

No so much as "know" but "speculate", or am i missing something?

Speculate to be accurate but I'm 90% certain from the info posted so far and the teaser picture it's the first gift.

The sad part is that I tested the Tampa vs the Dominator with fellow forum member @Grade-A-Hole and the Tampa got absolutely destroyed, both acceleration and top speed-wise.

It was sad to watch.

 

Also, the Dominator feels like it's lighter.

1. The reference to seasonally apprpriate is in relation to the holidays, but NOT necessarily an indication the items will be temporary.

 

2. In the past, Rockstar has always referred to temporary holiday or event items, or temporarily available items, as being limited edition or having limited availability.

 

3. There are an absolutely ridiculous number of festive items this year, it would seem a waste of time not to let us keep them.

 

Granted, none of this proves we will retain any of it, but unless they state limited availability then the only indication we won't keep them is speculation based on previous events.

Yeah I raced somebody with the Tampa, too. Not even close. Sigh, I was hoping the dominator would've finally met it's match. Sadly, it's still king of the muscle cars.

A new Gauntlet based on the Hellcat will take the Dominators place. Add some visual mods to it and add the engine sound from the stock car version in SP and better speed than the original Gauntlet and Dominator and boom. Brand new king of muscle cars.

I have some outfits saved in hopes they will stay. I know they most likely wont, but if i have them saved and they are wiped will my cop outfit etc get wiped with them?

I've tried saving Christmas clothing items and it WILL save. However, there's this weird glitch that happens to me when I do it. My character can't do anything but walk. I can't pull up the interaction menu, I can't run, I can't get in cars, I can't access the wardrobe or clothing racks at stores. I literally can't do anything but walk. Does anyone have this problem? (By the way, the glitch goes away if you switch sessions and change outfits, but it'll return after a few seconds if you don't delete the outfit from your inventory.)

I've seen this comment somewhere else on a forum. What he did was reinstalling the game, that's all i know for now. Reinstalling the game fixed it for him.

I have the disk version so that wouldn't be possible. Lol. Also, it only happens with the Christmas content. I wonder if Rockstar implemented this on purpose.

I have the disk version aswell. But there is a GTA_V_Setup_Tool.exe Rockstar made.

And download the Windows version if you wanna reinstall the game without using disks.

This is quite useful if you disks are broken.

If I remember correctly didn't they extended snow in 2014 because of all the lizard squad bs? It was supposed to be only 2 days but no one could get on so they made it last longer. Would be nice if it lasted that long again

Dude, we just got 9! cars last week. Are you serious? Rockstar doesn't have to give us the Tampa at all, but they are because they love us, well most of us that is. The ones that don't complain after every update release. I don't understand why people complain on and on about free DLC content, yet they would gladly pay $15 dollars on a FPS games DLC that contains the same things over and over. Yeah Online's updates are similar as in they contain cars, weapons and clothes most of the time, but you don't have to pay a single penny in order to get them! /Rant Edited December 22, 2015 by AlphaSierra111996

THE car.

 

The Tampa is one that has often been requested to R* bring over to GTA 5. The fact that it is about to happen is great. R* dropped something special this holiday for the Tampa fans.

 

That said, what did you expect? Festive Surprise 2014 the only thing we got to keep was the fugly stocking mask. Everything else was timed. If the Tampa is a timed release or perminent has yet to be seen.

We got 4 cars last year, even if three of them were retools of existing cars. And they're still in the game...there's no way that they take the Tampa away after the holiday.

 

Edited: I see that's not what you meant. But the four cars from last year are still available for purchase was my point. Permanent installations in the game.
