In my case, it's probably a result of using an older driver (AMD Catalyst 13.1) for backward compatibility reasons.

If I run in Direct3D11 mode the game will crash my Win7 64 PC after some five to fifteen minutes, which nothing else has ever done.

 

Have you tried lowering some graphics menu settings, such as Post FX?

if so I strongly recommend, updating Windows and all your drivers, to the latest.

my drivers are the newest and ive updated already altho i will not update to windows 10

I had the same problem. I was using that "AMD Gaming Evolved" program. I saw on there where it said to optimize GTA, so I did. Then I started to have this weird shadow pixel problems. I solved this by starting the game, go into settings and set all my graphics back to default. That solved my problems with those dark areas.

 

I have found out that this game and AMD are not the best of friends.

You're right it was setting it to dx 10 changing it to 11 fixed it
