I sometimes wonder what Americans would make of my deep Northern voice, I somehow can't imagine them getting all excited saying what a cute accent I have. It seems to me that other countries' impression of English accents is either haughty upper class or Cockney ragamuffin.

 

At least that's what tv has taught me.

 

I have a northern accent too, but it's not too thick. I've spoken to a few Americans in real life and they normally just say "I love your accent" and keep asking me to say random words over and over.

 

I'm sure it's a stereotype though. I always hear posh or cockney accents in movies and tv. It's rare there's a northern one in an American made movie.

 

 

 

On topic: India even has a space program.

The thing with India at the minute is that it is reaching what our countries reached decades ago. The politics, the economies, the health and general attitudes in India now are what Britain, America and the EU achieved anywhere from 50 to 150 years ago, and took just as long to realise what needed to change and do something about it. What India is doing, much like Australia has done, is get through the worst growing pains of a nation in a shorter period of time than the great nations, avoiding some of the worst mistakes, but alas making some howlers of their own. They are changing their third world visage by the best means they have, and while they have a bit to go, they have proven a great potential. Now the need to consolidate what they have by cleaning the country, putting back what they have earned and do what Indians are good at, making something from nothing, only now making more from something.

Poor or not, India has approximately 1/5th of the world's population. If Lichtenstein with a population of 36,000 people can have a yacht flag, then so should we. Even if every citizen of Lichtenstein played GTA, they still won't have as many players as India. As far as poverty goes, India is a country of extremes but we do have some of the richest people in the world here who own big car companies (Jaguar Land Rover), F1 circuits, F1 teams, private jets, etc. When you're driving a Baller or Ocelot, you're essentially driving a clone of a car manufactured IRL in a factory owned by an Indian. My guess is that R* decided to keep India out of the flags to be politically correct, but I and almost every Indian GTA player would like our flag to be in the game and don't see anything politically incorrect with it being in the game. It's not that much work, either: they have just have to rotate the Ireland flag and add a blue wheel in the middle.

I think Liechtenstein getting a flag is a subtle nod to them being a notorious tax haven for criminals; and if Rockstar wanted to be politically correct they wouldn't have added Palestine. I do hope they add more flags (Starting with the Glorious Principality of Sealand, then India right after) though.
