Last night I spent hours trying to export a project i have been working on for weeks, and ive started to suspect that its any clip with the smoking animation in that wont export???!!!

Can anyone confirm this? Ive searched the net but can't get a definite answer, as i have seen videos with people smoking but these could be PC modded or console recordings eg DVR

Smoking is more hazardous than breaking street laws and endangering other drivers, killing, and robbing. R* is behind the Smokers is 4 Jokers program.

I really would not think it would be for smoking man.. Is it just taking a very long time to export or will you get errors?

depends on what kind of smoking; cigarettes are easy but i haven't found a way to record smoking the bong. recording stops as soon as i trigger it and can't restart recording till the whole animation is finished. maybe use something like FRAPS for that and then move the resulting clip to the editor clips directory? haven't tried myself yet but should do the job. let us know if it works,

I remember way back in 2003, when Rockstar started releasing information about San Andreas. I was amazed that so many people seemed to have a strange gaming-fetish (strange to me, at least) about smoking in the game. Some people really felt this would add a lot to the game, and other than some cut scenes where others were smoking, and some peds walking around the cities smoking, CJ didn't have that ability. Fast forward about 12 years and people are still clamoring for this.

Not saying you guys who want it are wrong, but I guess I don't get the reason why this would add any more fun to a game. I am a non smoker, so maybe that plays some part in my inability to understand what the addition of being able to smoke in a videogame would bring to the table.

Then again, I shave most days, but don't want to see shaving added to a game. I shower and wash behind my ears, but wouldn't see the point of that either. When I eat, I usually take 20 minutes to finish a meal, more if I am eating out, but wouldn't want to see that level of virtual eating detail in a game.

I can't help but feel that realism has gone a little too far for my tastes. Not that I would personally care if Rockstar added it to the game, but I don't see the allure of it. Not to disparage how much smokers enjoy lighting up, or even smoking weed, in terms of gaming value, it seems like it would be a ridiculously mundane feature for Rockstar to focus resources on.

I guess, to my way of thinking, there are things in everyday life that can be great fun in a game, like driving, running, racing on a bicycle, and a million other things not generally part of most people's lives, unless they happen to be part of the Tattaglia family, of course. But isn't there a point where "realism" becomes mundane and pointlessly superfluous?

I actually think that both GTA IV and V already have way too much realism in them, even though I love V. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine why smoking in a videogame has garnered such incredibly vociferous support for the last 12 years.

That said, if its this important to so many people, and for this long, then Rockstar should probably add it. I mean, it wouldn't hurt the game any just to have a feature in it that I have zero interest in.

Are you are on PS4? If you are, any console recorded clip made using GTA V on PS4 is unable to be exported to external USB, it is the only game that does this, you can however upload direct to youtube from PS4/Sharefactory.

This wasn't about having the ability to smoke in game, that ability exists already online, it's about the abklity to export recorded footage of smoking from consoles, as when trying ticreate any sort of re-enactment of a movie or tv show it's a handy thing to have.

Anyway When i took the smoking clips out the videos exported (out of R* editor).

No one else has confirmed it but it must be.
