We need more control over the yacht

3. When you pay the $25K to move port that should become the default spawn point regardless of where you spawn on the map

^^ This - so much this.

I cannot for the life of me get the logic behind first of all having to pay a ridiculous amount of money just to move your own yacht, but for it to just move anyway when you change sessions (which happens a lot more than we have control over) is just plain stupid. So you pay $25K to move it, get kicked from the session (everyone "leaves") and then your yacht is somewhere else. Cool move.

Just wait for Rockstar to have a special discount weekend where you get 50% off for moving your yacht.

It's sad because you're most likely right.

It is a bit annoying that the yacht has a mind of its own in terms of where it decides to locate itself, must admit that it doesn't overly bother me though and I don't pay to relocate because I'm only ever about 60 seconds away from where I need to be with the awesomeness of the Buckingham Swift that's on board.

Might as well ask R* for a Frigate lol.

But seriously though, i find nothing wrong with people boarding my yacht in passive mode if they just want to explore and look around, i understand some of them might be trolls and for that R* should do something like have a permanent Passive mode or block the ability to use weapons and melees when on a yacht (similar to how things work while inside your apartment). Torpedeos also make alot of sense since we already have an air defense system. but anyways the yacht is there for us to own for the moment, R* will probably introduce alot of features and changes to in future updates. i'm sure they toke this update as an experiment for how the players and yachts thing will work out, and they're probably remove and add things here and there later. for now, just enjoy the sunset n' smoke some cigars.

Or you need the option to hire Schwarzennegger.

trying to board the yacht in passive mode? not on arnie's watch.

Trying to use a boat on the yacht that doesn't belong to you? i wouldn't do it, since He will be back.

Enemy boat incoming? not for much longer, arnie is here.

I agree with making people who have passive mode enabled, it should be auto switched off.

Or simply have an invite only system.

But the fun there is putting proximity mines on the back of the yacht and in the hot tub, put a bounty on them.

Maybe go for something a big more extreme like, the guns off the valkyrie, can be used manual or auto.

How about a couple of flame throwers pointing the the back of the Yacht,

Water cannon, low life comes on board, they get knocked back in to the sea.

I changed sessions 5 times while standing on my yacht and everytime it spawned at where I moved it to, But.....

When your off the boat it seems to always spawn at what it thinks is close to you

I stood at the Beach and changed sessions 5 times and it spawned in front of me all 5 times, so you can control it somewhat

I moved it to Mt Gordo and bought the house in Grapeseed and set that as my spawn location. So far my yacht has spawned at Mt Gordo everytime...

I don't really care if folk want to board my yacht as they cannot kill me with the defences up.

I also don't care where my yacht spawns as I can reach it from anywhere on the map.

People need to chill the f*ck out!

a few small changes that i'd like to see implemented and honestly don't know why this isn't already how it works...

1. our "floating apartment" operates like those on land. no weapons and you deny access / kick out anyone you want, whenever you want. (seems most of us agree on this)

2. it stays where you leave it, only changing location when told to. (again we generally agree on this)

3. i would like it to work like a taxi does. i set a destination (spawn points) and watch the world drift by from a hot tub / petri dish. (just a thought)

nonetheless i'm more than happy with "The Bearded Clam".

Like everyone tells me when I want to be left in peace just go to an invite only session. If you're actually annoyed by people on your yacht and not just bragging that you have a yacht than IO is no problem.

Invite only pretty much makes the VIP mechanic redundant. The yacht is like an apartment so of course nobody should be allowed on board unless permitted by the owner. Either that or they should make it so anybody can let themselves into your apartment and garage and steal your cars regardless of settings.

Just when I was about to say "I've never had any issues with plebeians illegally boarding my yacht", I was illegally boarded. They changed my radio station, infested the hot tub, then stole my Seasharks before I killed them.

"Crew+Friends" clearly doesn't mean anything.

Wandering Bastard

Imagine a map with Yachts equipped with air defenses and torpedoes on ALL yacht spots. Air travel and water travel would be HELL. When ever a plebeian comes on your boat to jerk off and litter it with beer bottles, just don't give a sh*t, maybe? I mean, you afforded a 10 million dollar yacht, I'm pretty sure you can afford to not give a f*ck.

Having had my yacht for a while there are only 3 things that I'd like to see.

First, for visitors to be unable to damage me with their weapons. That way, I don't mind if people want to come on board and have a look around or chill in the tub etc. I'm not talking about my being in passive mode, still able to use my guns but just not be hurt.

Second, passive to be disabled for anyone else who comes onboard who isn't a friend or in my crew (or according to yacht settings)

Finally, for people who get killed on the yacht not to spawn back on it, but rather on the mainland instead.

If these things were possible then I would be in control when I'm on board, and other people would be welcome to come and join me as I am safe in the knowledge that I can deal with them if the get all trolly.

Perfect idea.. Hire AI bodyguards to automatically attack those without permission trying to get onto the Yacht.

The point of it isnt to be a battleship, everything has to have a weakness, this is the first legit thing to counter jet griefers it doesnt not need more weapons and so what if people can walk on it, activate your defence and they cant do anything.

Everything in the game has a weak point.

I submitted a ticket to Rockstar support - they replied back that it would stay put unless the location is full in your new session, which is not true at all. We need to hammer them about this. It's really dumb that it just moves itself around and that $25,000 buys you at best a brief rental of whatever spot you go to.

I assume that the issue with the yacht location changing when you join a new sessions simply one more result of Rockstar's lazy, intentionally incompetent, brain-dead lack of matchmaking.

If they could simply dynamically index their own servers to find a session with an available spot corresponding to your last location, there would be no problem. But nooooooooo.

In my last session as I was trying to get offline some dude pulls up in his boat, climbs aboard, and immediately hops into my hot tub as I close the game.

I shouldn't have to deal with these people when I'm actually playing so I was lucky there but damn.

Gtao would be all f*cked up without the plebs, man.

If he counts as a pleb, can our yachts like shoot his boat into oblivion before he gets there? Or you know, him if he swims? Or even better, underwater if he tries to dive?

Like, gimme a perimeter. Bout the only thing that can get through it is a titan from AoT.

Lol. The yacht defenses will shoot down parachuters though. It's not all bad.

It does not. And it needs to be fixed. When my yacht is anywhere near the city, I can count on some goofballs going over and hanging around on it. I don't even understand what the "Yacht Access" setting is for; it seems to do nothing.

Here's the ultimate example of the amazing logic of yacht access: I was away from my yacht and saw a guy on my pause menu map flying over there. I knew my defenses were up and that access was set to Friends only, and sure enough, the defense system blew him up. Seconds later he respawned ON MY YACHT and then just hung out there for 15 minutes. I mean... really? What is the point of having a yacht access setting and a defense system if neither one will actually keep randoms off the dumb yacht?

Availability is not the issue. And even if it was there are better workarounds to lack of position availability than what you're suggesting (the easiest being, just assign the yacht the nearest available slot until you switch sessions again; with multiple slots in each of the map areas where yachts can go, you'd almost always end up within sight of where you were before).

"Yacht Access" is only for the cabin, it seems.

... Because that makes sense.

When they said yachts I thought that you would be able to sail them like you did with other boats. If you can purchases a aircraft carrier with defense system and npc guards that I would pay for. Would be a glorious WW3 scenario.

All the nouveau elite in GTA0 seem to be going apesh*t over a few plebs climbing onto their precious yachts. These threads represent a true experiment in human nature.

The analogies to real world entitlement and class war are apt. :p

Lol I remember this morning I logged on to GTA Online and my spawn point was set to the yacht. I went AFK for about 5 minutes and when I came back there were like 6 or 7 guys chillin' in me yacht, someone was even trying to grind on my female character lol.

Is "yacht access" for the radio? I can't figure out what it does!

I wish instead of a cutscene we could actually watch our yachts move from location to location. That'd be nice.

In-game disinfectant to clean the plebeian cooties out of your hot tub: $5000 per application :p
