Tacho is short for Tachograph, a paper disc used to record the driving of commercial vehicles.

Speedometer and rev counter are what the OP is looking for here.

FIXED!

It didn't need fixed.

to be honest i have never hear someone calling that a "rev counter" haha

That's what we usually call it in the UK.

The mods must be enjoying their time reading this thread as well, as I find it strange they haven't locked it.

Hopefully they won't!

Or these days, a small credit card like device inserted into the vehicle

This type of thing does make me laugh. All this rubbish about "the cars don't go the speed they should do" and similar conversations are just utterly ridiculous. It's a bunch of flashing lights - accept that and move along.

to be honest i have never hear someone calling that a "rev counter" haha The confusion is, I believe, between tachograph and tachometer. The graph is the driving record and the meter the rev counter or RPM counter. Edited by Sencha
