Who put salt in your pants? I don't understand why you're so against the idea of Liberty City returning. And who the hell said Los Santos took 8 years to make, that's ridiculous. Don't be so hyperbolic. How the hell is that even possible if the game took like four years to develop. You're under the impression that Los Santos will go unappreciated, not that it's unrealistic for LC to return because it totally is.

 

They could easily include missions in both LS and LC. Besides, Rockstar is gonna incorporate old maps eventually, so why not start with LC? It's not like they're taking away from the resources GTA V has to offer. GTA Online already raped and cultivated the f*ck out of Los Santos and Blaine County, a return to Liberty City will be welcoming to players.

 

Rockstar plans to expand GTA Online to a point where players can travel between old maps. They also said "we have some old toys we're working with." That easily hints assets from GTA IV, their previous GTA game. They never ever, EVER implied "Oh, we're gonna make NEW maps for Online, like San Fierro and Las Venturas. Old maps are out of the picture."

 

I do agree with you saying it needs to include the trio. They're very underdeveloped characters and a story DLC could potentially flesh them out.

There's no salt in my pants. And I' not "against" Liberty City in the slightest. I've logged more hours on GTAO than any game I've ever owned, I'm all for R* enhancing it. The more the better. And I'm not saying R* can't do it. They created Liberty City and they created Los Santos; they might be the only company that CAN do it. The question is "Why?" Why would they slap a coat of polish on their old game? Why go backwards? If it's one thing that R* does well, it's evolving. Moving forward. While I do believe that a map expansion of any sort is highly unlikely, if they're gonig to go through the trouble (instead of working on GTA6) why paste on an old city? R* attention to detail is staggering. The amount of work required to bring to bring LC from 2008 to 2016 would astronomically high. GTA had over 860 voice actors. They'd have to update all of the pedestrian dialogue. Yah, they could just keep the old ped dialogue, but I don't think that's how R* works. The Housers would want it done right. Why go through that? Why not "complete" San Andreas and add San Fierro or Las Venturas? Liberty City makes no sense at all; it's on the other side of the continent, and it has no ties to the story or it's characters.

 

Also, again, if they've "raped" Los Santos in two years, Liberty City's been raped four times longer. Why would they go from an "old, used up" city to an older, more used up city? That's a dumb argument based SOLELY on your opinion. We had Liberty City in an online space a few years ago... Why would they dig it back up after it's run is over? I'd imagine that players developed the same disdain for LC back then as you have for LS now.

 

As far as "old toys", that could mean literally anything. Old systems they wanted to implement but couldn't, old characters, vehicles... That's obscenely vague. It doesn't mean that they're going to transplant Liberty City from last gen to current gen and attach it Frankenstein-style. GTAO has SO many issues in it's current state; why risk heaping on a sh*t-ton more?

 

Dude, just stop it already. We know your standpoint, but you keep "backing up" your posts with bullsh*t.

 

Imagine it from a business standpoint. You have one of the best selling games in history. You have the chance of releasing a major, major, major DLC by re-using a city with relatively small effort (compared to building something from scratch). I mean, have you seen how people freak out about IV vehicles? Have you read this thread? Liberty City would be cheeringly welcomed by many players and could generate more income.

 

Also, yea guess what. Did IV have a predecessor which ran on the same engine and had the same model and texture niveau? No? There you have your answer why it would be a whole lot more likely for V.

And I know you all's standpoint. I've read it for almost 40 pages... I don't see your point. I understand that opposing views aren't appreciated on the hype train, but that's how discussions work. And again, I have to disagree with the relatively small effort. I'm not saying that R* is incapable. I'm a fanboy; I KNOW that they are. But why? They'd have to model new peds (fashion has changed a lot since 2008), new signs, billboards, dialogue, pop culture references, music, storefronts, radio chatter, etc... They couldn't just refresh the map, they'd have to refresh the whole "experience", because that's one of GTA's biggest strengths. And again, I'm not saying they couldn't do it, but if they're going to essentially "rebuild" Liberty City to bring it up to snuff, why put all that effort, energy, time, and money into a horribly outdated city when they could utilize all that effort, energy, time, and money build up the one they have? They've probably still got unused dialogue, artwork, ped models, car models, music, commercials etc from Los Santos that they haven't used that would fit perfectly a map expansion in Los Santos.

 

I [kinda] understand the nostalgia for LC, but from a logical/monetary/resource standpoint, LC doesn't make sense. But, you win. I'm done. There's no point in attempting to reason or argue logic here; the hype train has no brakes. You guys have at it. I'll see myself out.

Why wouldn't they go backwards like you say? They've done it before, more than once. You do know that this isn't the first time we've had Los Santos in a Grand Theft Auto game, and that GTA IV's Liberty City wasn't the first Liberty City they've ever done.....

I think Funz and other top "leakers" should just open a new thread and have it pinned and just post all the things they find in the Game files and Unknown sources, and so on from now into that thread with no else allowed to post there. I see a lot of potential.

Well seems more like you have shown your own "inteligence" with your arguments.

#1 - New HD cities like VC, SF and LV are more likely to be used for a new game since R* would get the most out of it that way.

#2 - LC is a already existing city that just needs to be upgraded and adjusted for GTAV/Online therefore easier for R* and would justify the DLC price.

#3 - Funmw2 is one the most trusted members on here.
