Salvatore's Missions in LCS are horrible!

Can anybody tell me a way to complete it? I had trouble doing them for the past 10 years and I haven't played Liberty City Stories in like two or three years. I can't complete his missions. And worse yet I only remember two of them. So that means if I try and to go prepared in, I might always don't have something. So can somebody tell me what things I need to carry into the mission and where to find them? For example what will I need for the mission where *Spoiler Alert, don't read if you haven't finished the game or at least finished the whole Portland Island* What will I need in the mission where you and few Leone take of Columbian Cartel?

I recommend you on Contra Banned; full armor, guns, then when Colombians, Leone's and the cops start to shoot, hide behind the Patriot to prepare yourself, then kill the Cartel members and steal the Patriot heading directly to Pay N Spray. Is there other mission you have problems?

Correction: RC Missions are horrible

I've only really played this game until mid-Staunton Island, so I can only give advice you so far. Spoilers ahead:

  • The Offer: As soon as you gain control of Toni after the cutscene at the docks, start running and don't stop until you get out of that place
  • Ho Selecta!: Use the Leone Sentinel found by Sal's mansion and try not to drive too recklessly, specially because if one of Sal's girls dies it's mission failed
  • Frighteners: Use a heavy and fast car, like the Patriot or the Pony. You can kill 2 of the people that you have to intimidate. Coincidentially, 2 of those people attack you (one with fists and the other one with a 9mm). The other one will flee
  • Rollercoaster Ride: You have to drop off Hopper at the Harwood docks, not the other one used during The Offer. So try and end the mission somewhere close. Don't try stunting too much, try driving full speed without crashing too much. The unfinished Callahan Bridge works, as long as you can brake before you slide off the edge and into the cyanide-infested water below
  • Contra-Banned: Full health and armor, preferably with some boosts from the Pizzaboy/Punk Noodles Delivery Missions or the Vigilante mission, respectively. Also, there's a set of stairs in the back of JD's club. Take them, navigate the rooftops, and you should find an AK-47 up there, with an orange glow around it. That will help fighting off the Colombians and cops
  • Sindacco Sabotage: Either grab a BP vehicle (there are many options) and pancake all the Diablos you can or do the same as above. Also make sure the Leone don't die
  • The Trouble With Triads: Complete the Firefighter missions, and don't drive your car to the mission marker at the Fish Factory; leave it somewhere close instead, making sure the car's door is open so it doesn't despawn. If you drive it to the fish factory, it will be severely damaged after the cutscene
  • Driving Mr. Leone: Use the Leone Sentinel, not the PCJ-600. Also avoid crashing and if you have to change vehicles, do it in a lonely place with little law enforcement
  • A Walk In The Park: Grab a Mac-10. You can find one near the Portland junkyard. Enter the park on foot, without any weapons, then when you get close to the mayor pull out your Mac-10 and shoot the mayor and his bodyguards (you can shoot while moving when using the Mac-10), grab the cellphone and haul ass out of there
  • Making Toni: Don't drive like a crazy psycho
  • Caught in the Act: Don't let go of the 'fire' button. Also practice practice practice
  • Search and Rescue: Full armor and health, lots of AK-47 bullets, and if you're about to get busted try a drive-by on the cops (this works for all missions lol)
  • Taking the Peace: Good luck lol. Try taking control of Paulie's car when he's real close to the meetup and make sure to not stop close to any Forellis
  • Shoot the Messenger: Try sniping the wiseguy from a distance. Or try the Minigun, if you can find one

That's all I can help you with

It still sucks. I always had my cousin complete the missions for me in the past 10 years.. Those missions still annoy me. Also I completed the game 3 times (with the help of my cousin's of course) so if you spoil anything I won't be mad. I know everything.

Also any help for 'The Portland Chainsaw Masquerade'? I tried fighting Vinnie's goons with a shotgun, a revolver found in the ship and an Uzi and when I stop to reload they always get me.

M60. Need I say more?

M60 takes 1 shot kills. So easy to do The Portland Chainsaw Masquerade. It's just a "taste" of things to come. Wait until you need to do Slash TV Side Mission. It needs to be completed TWICE for 100% and it's basically The Portland Chainsaw Masquerade but a lot longer and harder.

Idk why people find this game or any of the Story Missions difficult. When it comes to LCS, it's one of the GTA's I try to do as much as possible WITHOUT saving. It's risky, but it's a risk I will take cuz I know 99% of the time I will pass it first try...

The Python was pretty good in the Portland Chainsaw mission, probably a lot better & easier since it was right there in the hall.

Python does help. It's all one shot kills, just like the M-60. Nobody would have the M-60 anyways, unless they did all the Rampages after Home Sweet Home like I do which awards me the M-60 right at the beginning of the game after only 1 Story Mission :D

However that Python Pickup is there only during the Mission, as is the Body Armor. When you do Slash TV, you have to get through a bunch of levels and not only once, but you need to do it twice and get the COX Outfit for doing it twice and also the game completion for 100%. I don't think it's hard at all these days. Maybe on my first time through LCS back in early 2014 I thought these things were difficult but now onto my 13th playthrough, there isn't anything in LCS that I find ultra hard anymore. There is some annoyances still, but nothing that I can't handle these days.

I actually like LCS for its simplicity. A lot of fun in LCS for me. I like it more than VCS and think some of the VCS Story Missions are the hardest one we've seen to date in a 3D Era GTA.

  • 3 weeks later...

For Slash TV and the subsequent playthrus of that side-mission, I just used the Stubby Shotgun which you can get from killing that douchebag biker that you have to chase who hops on the PCJ bike in that one mission. It chews through armor for one-shot kill so you don't have to worry about shooting them twice after they get knocked down with the regular shotgun. The only downside is running out of ammo for it, but I do believe there's a Stubby Shotgun spawn over at the factory by the diner that's close to the docks, the one that gets blown up both in this game and GTA III, lol. A bit tricky to reach but you can technically get to it even before the factory blows up.

Actually there's an M60 spawn with 100 bullets at the Francis International Airport. It requires a little bike stunting but it's reachable at the beginning of the game Edited by DragonpokeZ

Correction: RC Missions are horrible

Honestly, this, and some of the other more finicky driving missions, are the main reason I am hesitant to buy the game for my iPad. I found the RC missions ridiculously hard on the PSP because of the crappy analog stick, but more than fair once I bought it for the PS2 with a full controller. Rockstar's problem with mobile GTA games is they couldn't be bothered tweaking some of the more challenging missions to make them more easy to manage with the virtual controls of cell phones and tablets. It isn't so much that the missions themselves are hard, but its the lack of controller. Not sure I want to invest in an iPad controller just to play this one game.

True. On the way to the M60 there's also a hidden package and a Colt Python spawn as well ;).

True, but there is no need for it if you're going to SSV. If you're there, you might as well do the Side Missions, Hidden Packages, Rampages, and Stunt Jumps and just finish the Starter Save. Then you have the M-60 right after Home Sweet Home and can easily reach 9999 rounds for it by the end of the game, but it's not needed then since you get infinite ammo, lol...
