partypatzn
Hello Everybody, i really hope someone here can help me. First: I played the game on this system when GTA5 was released and i had no problems with the game. I had to replace my motherboard though. I used to have a MSI Z77A-G43 motherboard. Now i have a ASUS P8Z77-V LX. The Story (Context): After a longer break i wanted to check out the new stuff and downloaded the game again. I could start the game and it seemed to run fine. But after a period of a few seconds up to a few minutes the game just froze and the PC crashed aswell. Only a hard reset could help. Now when the PC rebooted it didnt even manage to reach the windows login screen. The screen was just black. After a few tries the OS realized that it didnt boot correctly and it gave me a reason why. It seemed like it was a problem with my graphics card driver. (NVLDDMKM.SYS) Which was probably the same reason why the game crashed. Since i couldnt boot Windows in normal-mode i booted in safe-mode, uninstalled all nvidia related software and drivers and reinstalled them. After a restart i was able to boot Windows like always. I tried different drivers and reducing the GPU clock of my factory side overclocked graphics card. Both lead to the same problem including not being able to boot Windows. After repeating this madness a few times i noticed that the voices of my buddies on Teamspeak sounded weird (sound quality got worse). I reinstalled my sound card software and drivers just to then have no sound at all. Trying to solve this problem lead to the ultimate wannabe-expert solution. I reinstalled Windows. After downloading and installing GTA5 again i hoped for some kind of miracle. But the problem just changed. The new problem: Now when i start GTA5, i start with a weird stutter. My sound starts to crack within seconds and it gets worse very fast and the fps drop at the same moment and in the same pace. If any of you ever played Dead Island with a 5.1-Headset you might have encountered a similar problem. If so. This feels exactly like that. The first time i quit the game Windows even showed the error message (nvidia driver has stopped working and has recovered). So i guess its the same problem as before but it manifests in a different way. From this point on i tried several fixes and started the game only for a few seconds to check if it helped. Since it didnt, i closed the game instantly, because i didnt wanted to wait for my PC to crash another time. What i tried: - fresh Windows installation - different drivers - lowering GPU clock - disabling PCI-Express energie saving - reducing the sound quality in the playback device settings (Dead Island experience) - closing the Launcher through the task manager and setting the priority of the GTA5 process to "high" - changing my audio device in windows from 5.1 to stereo (Dead Island experience) My Specs: - ASUS P8Z77-V LX - Intel i7-3770k @ 4Ghz - 2x8GB G.Skill DDR-3 2133 (F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL Kit) - EVGA Geforce GTX 680 SuperClocked Signature R - Creative Soundblaster Z - Windows 10 Home I honestly dont know what else to do. Please help me. P.S.: Drivers are all up-to-date now. Thank you in advance! greetz EDIT: I don't have the Steam version. I bought my digital copy directly from R*.
