Actually a hell of a lot more people don't know of this than do know of it. I've only ever once or twice met randoms actively doing it the rest just do it as per normal.

 

Of my friends I've shared it with three of them.

 

This is just an open secret and the idea of R* not being aware of it is frankly ludicrous.

 

Of course you don't want too many people to know because that's when R* will make waves to close it down. But as long as people are buying Shark cards then everyones happy.
