That would be cool, but R* better find some room down below deck to transport our cars too!

And/or GTA: northwest passage. North Yankton tie-in perhaps. Come on houser! Make it happen!

FTFY and nah, I'd rather have a seperate fleet.

Cheap fast travel to almost every point on the coast around the map. Great for getting to Paleto for an event, or back to the city if you're stranded.

If that's not worth it then I don't know what is.

Cheap? Forget the 6+ mil price tag...it's $25,000 just to move it to one of the other 11 spots.

Isn't there a VIP/organisation mission that you can only do if you have a yacht? I haven't got a yacht to try it out myself yet but I would hope that it would open up a mission in freeroam that pays more than the other VIP work available.

But it costs $25K each time, correct?

If you switch sessions, be near where you want your yacht to be before you switch.

It's basically the best apartment money can buy. Great spawn point for coming into maps, about 5 million GTA dollars worth of Pegasus vehicles included, great anti air defence and a hot tub.

Also, you wouldn't believe how much people whine about not being able to have one, or refusing to buy one even though they have the cash - it's worth owning one for that alone.

" a seperate fleet ", LoL

....

A seperate fleet ?

....

FLEET !!

That's it !

We're not going to Vice City or Liberty City. We're not going to North Yankton either ! We'll be going, where noone else has gone before:

The next game will be set where everything started, where GTA hasn't been set yet.

I have a feeling the fleet will consist of three ships (yachts) and they will be going on a conquest eastward across the Atlantic to Spain/Italy. The game will be released in 2017, 525 years after Christoph Columbus sailed westward, and be a -complete- mickey-take of history.

Now -that- would be something, LoL !

I work too damn hard to earn my money to just waste it on something that will get no use.

I work smart not hard which is why I was able to buy the yacht with more than enough money to spare.

Yep, great apartment that has 0 space for cars. As for boats, dull as f*ck in the dead sea.

Helicopter is mainly for show, looks sweet on the yacht and I guess when you need some snacks (your multi million pound yacht don't stock sweeties) so you have to fly to the nearest mucky shop in passive mode. Then get back sitting in your hut tub watching strangers running amock aboard as your sh*t scared not to keep defenses up and meanwhile a dude is getting ready to join you in the hut tub. .

I get it, a brand new toy to spend your hard earned glitched money. I can afford one but don't want to spend millions on a hot tub.

It's called piracy prevention and man, it hurts to lose.. :/

I can't think of a good spot to position myself as I had no bodyguard first try.

Piracy protection. You get $30k and it's the most fun mission for me... You and three bodyguards fighting off jets, helicopters and boats as players try to capture the top deck.

A yacht is:

-A floating kind of ''base'', who you can move around entire Los Santos (the coast it is)

-Has a AAA system, and multiple yachts in a place can basicly create a no-fly zone for jets and especially helicopters.

-Has reactive protection (kill's incoming explosives)

-Spawns a helicopter so you can move around the map very fast

It's basicly your own personal safe-space in the open.

Also its very fun to do the VIP yacht protect thingy!

Still on last gen here, how detailed are these yachts exactly? Just watched someone doing a tour of the most expensive yacht on youtube, didn't seem as detailed as the one used in the heist setup mission, do they even have engine decks?

Then you can show how disgustingly rich you are and beat poorer players with golden champagne bottles

After reading the GTA Forum for the past couple of days, it seems to me that the main activity of a yacht owner is to come the forums and humblebrag about his/her new yacht by asking how to prevent the peasants and the hoi polloi from climbing onto it.

:p

Yeah it's pretty comical but also sad. You gotta wonder what some of those people do in their real life

After some discussion with dinlee, I'm convinced.. This is how we will travel to LC or VC

You may want to look at a map then have another discussion. Sure if you really wanted to you could set sail from the west coast of the United States down to Panama into the Panama Canal to the Caribbean Sea into the Gulf of Mexico around the coast of Florida and end up in Miami aka vice city. You could even take the same route but instead of stopping in Miami just go along the entire eastern seaboard of the United States until you hit New York aka Library city. It would only take you maybe a week

are you serious? yachts are the best thing that ever happened to gta online.

i dont even have an appartment anymore, just 5 10 car garages around the city.

spawn in at peace and quiet at the sea, enjoy the views and the sunset, do dives in the sea from the decks, drive your smaller sea vehicles around it, snipe npcs at the beach and escape wanted level by diving under the yacht with rebreathers, have a fast heli on the deck or your car at the coastline ready to take you werever you want to go and the list goes on...

as for occasional randoms coming on board in passive, they are obviously the hired help who are there to scrub the decks and make my gold railings shiny...

I'm trying to justify investing my hard earned money in a yacht. Everything else I buy serves a purpose. I buy a new apartment and I have 10 new spaces to store cars. I buy a new car and I have a fun new ride to drive around in on heists, etc. I buy a new weapon and I can use it on missions. So if were to buy a yacht, what would I do with it?

As a Yacht owner

If your looking for it to have purpose, you might have to look hard .......real hard

There is no reason to buy a yacht.

Gonna take 1-2 weeks until all yacht owners cry about how they wasted 8 mil. on something they can't even use properly.

8 mil. for something stationary I can't even drive myself? THANK YOU R*!

Sounds like it is a lot of fun for people to celebrate virtual parties or just stand around and "watch the sunset". Would make me feel bored after 2 minutes. I seriously can't undestand some people and their definition of "fun". But who am I to judge? :)
