K/D of 0.42

I don't play GTA Online to kill people mercilessly or to grief others. I play it as a sort of RPG type thing where my character lives their life and I get to call it(like the author of a book in a sense).

My K/D is in the .85 or so region I think. I don't care for it. Would I like it to be positive? Sure. But I'm not gonna go out of my way to make that happen.

Almost every person has a kdr less than one. It makes absolutely no difference. I see people with high ones that suck, and some of the best people are well under your ratio of 0.42. Don't even worry about it man.

Yeh, my KD was 0.41 and yet I'd gone 200+ consecutive missions without enemies killing me before. A friend that I often play with has a KD of 2.45, and he's a good player for sure, but he died far more often in missions than I did...

I'm not sure what my KD is... but I can't imagine it being anything remotely high. I mostly play freemode and I don't bother much with the COD type players. Most people play in assisted aim or auto aim lobbies anyways, which takes significantly less skill than free aim shooting. Overall, the numbers are pretty meaningless as there is no context to them. There's a difference between someone who has a 2, or 3 KD from strictly playing TDM opposed to someone who carpet bombs the streets in freemode from his/her jet. But there is no way to differentiate, therefore KD has minimal if any correlation to actual skills.

Mine is 0.37. I only ever play heists these days but back when GTAO first started, I used to get killed by people all the time even though I never went after anyone which I guess is why my ratio is so low now.

Sometimes I will join a heist and I will get kicked for no apparent reason. I can only assume they are kicking me because of my k/d ratio, even though I am perfectly capable of completing any heist setup/finale.

If you want to boost your k/d quickly, just join Contact Missions.

Plenty of annoying douchebag idlers who deserve to die.

Otherwise they die anyway by NPCs.

I also noticed something interesting last night in free-mode, while offing schlubs.

Level 50s-70s were still alive after I ran them over at approx 40mph and hit them with 4-6 bullets from the machine pistol. It took an additional 2 or 3 bullets in them to get the job done. This shouldn't be the case, right?

Personally i couldnt care less about k/d in a game like gta. What I would like to have is a k/d against the cops. I think this could encourage people to work together, rather than having a constant deathmatch.

If I have a kd of 0.1. Is there enything stopping me from killing someone with a kd of 400 five times in a row?

Who's better?

The guy with a high stat, or the guy who killed the guy with a high stat?

Okay, but do you actually kill players five times in a row?

I just checked my K/D ratio... it's 1.34.

Is that good? I don't really fight other players that often. Never jet griefed or anything really. I'd like to think that's considerable better than average for someone who doesn't look for fights.

I'm actually surprised I've never even looked at my K/D ratio before. I figured it would be really low.

It matters for fighting against other players. But it doesn't matter for doing heists, missions, and races. I don't understand when people won't let anyone with less than a 1.0 K/D ratio join a heist.

But you can see why it might matter when hiring bodyguards or something similar right?

I think kills matter more. Someone who has killed 1000 players is probably better than someone who has killed 200 even if their K/D is lower.

There are so many chincy ways to boost your KD, it's a joke. Anyone who's half decent and plays the game often, plus wants to piss away time and money at free-mode can get to 1.25 or so, pretty easily.

So what, My KD is like .60 and I've done mastermind easily and everything else you ever need to do in the game. I can run around in freeroam and defend myself. Only thing is I don't do shoot at people first. Or actively run around looking for people to kill, I"m just around doing whatever, once and a while some nut job kills me, I don't worry about it. I don't even remember what my level is but I think the main character is well over 400, the others are over 100.

You have to play in the way you like. But i think that a competitive player have more fun in overall.

Bro, npc's dont are a challenge in this game. Your friend die just because he go without taking cover. If he play this missions with calm, im sure he can finish without die too.

I don't get the obsession over K/D. It's bad enough when FPS players crow on about it. K/D obsession and stat-padding have no place in a GTA game.

I've had teammates with K/D like yours who kicked ass in DMs.

I've also had teammates with 2.0+K/D but ended with stats like 3-17.

K/D says nothing to me about your ability.

Instead what I look for in the team lobby screens are for opponents with certain tattoos.

As a person with a poor K/D of 0.80, last I checked, I learned that K/D is a pointless thing to obsess about. Trying to have a decent K/D in GTA is like... forget it, I was never good with analogies. You'll be attacked by tanks, jets, RPGs, Marksman Rifles (I absolutely loathe that gun), stickies, and anything that has splash damage thrown at you. All of those are inavoidable, unless you go passive.

So, forget K/D and have some fun.

A K/D ratio stat is just plain wrong for a game like this. It's for the peabrains, who don't have the imagination they were born with or the intelligence to realize they should be playing cod or battlefield instead. It's one of the reasons I have stopped playing and sold the game, along with tanks, jets, rpg's, sticky bombs, proximity mines, miniguns, attack helicopters, armoured personnel carriers and the morons that use them.

There are two main types of gta player.

First are those that like to drive, chill, explore this vast gameworld and occasionally make some $ and friends.

Then there are those who use all of the aforementioned military hardware to run around like twats killing every blip that moves.

Or you could categorise the two main groups as.. those who think that gta freeroam is just one giant deathmatch, and those that do not.

Rockstar have basically catered for the cod kids with all this military hardware and I think its totally bullsh*t. Jets, tanks, rpg's in a game called grand theft auto, f*ck outta here, go play battlefield.

Not that I'm massively bothered, sold the game a month ago, don't miss it yet.

I suck right?

I've spend most of my time in GTAO doing contact missions and heists, tuning cars and buying clothes or houseswhatever but I never got into deathmatches or killing sprees in free mode. No, I don't have any jets/yachts/missle launchers/tanks/mods/nukes and don't ever plan to buy them. I was never the competitive player and I don't plan to become one.

When I get into firefights, I mostly die. Over and over again sometimes. But I don't care. Not at all. To me, its a game you can sit down and chill to and not some hardcore online shooter. It's still just GTA to me, online or not.

So, do I suck or what? Am I doing it right or wrong?

At least you're not one of those cowardly little bitches that is always killing yourself to preserve their precious k/d!

I could care less what my k/d.

If you're having fun you're doing it right.

And that's what counts.

A "good" K/D is overrated...

People call you a hacker all the damn time, even with a 2.6

It gets annoying.

KD from 0.41 to 0.94 in a span of 36 hours, during which I spent 4-5h in free-mode offing idiots. However, I lost about $150k so...

It was a nice break from missions.

Getting very close to rank 100, never have actually engaged in PvP (there was one time though where a King of The Castle event was active. No-one actually cared so I went there and then people suddenly decided to start swarming in. I blew up a guy with a sticky bomb but then he unfairly used a rocket launcher against me so I immediately cut the power to PC on the wasted screen so the game couldn't get a chance to save my death (and kill)), and I don't think I will on that character. If I'm in public lobby or with friends (just to make sure) I am in passive mode all the time.

I do PvP on Xbox 360, though, and I don't plan on transferring yet which is literally the only reason why I want the DLCs on last gen (yeah, maybe yacht would kill the performance but new cars and freemode events wouldn't for now. Adversary Modes definitely wouldn't. They just wanted an excuse to be lazy and stop updating last gen) because most of the content I would actually like to try want me to do the stupid PvP. The idea of killing players to unlock tints is sh*t, too. I want the orange tint on SMG and Carbine Rifle but there's no way to get it since I will be staying at 0.

Trying to keep my deaths at minimum. Currently I only died 62 times, all from NPCs.
