Random times you meet another character

So, I was playing a new game (because I was bored), and played as usual.

 

I got up to the point where Franklin has to do Pulling Favors for Tonya Wiggins. Finished the mission. Then, when approaching the Premium Deluxe Motorsport dealership, I thought, "Why not I switch to Michael to start a new mission?"

 

So I pressed F5 and it switched to Michael. It didn't switch in the matter of going on bird's eye view though, IT SWITCHED AS IF MICHAEL WAS NEARBY. So he was, driving his Tailgater across the intersection. I was really stunned. THAT actually happened? I just completed a mission for Franklin and didn't use him that much prior.

 

Any of you guys ever encountered this situation? Or is it only with Trevor throwing grenades outside his trailer?

I had same situations few times (I wasn't doing any missions). For example I play always as Franklin, but rarely switch to Michael but when I do his ,,spawning areas" are:

-his house,

-cafe in Vinewood(he was sitting there with Amanda in tennis clothes, probably coffee after the match),

-Movie plan (firing Jimmy The Dog xD)

-randomly on the street. So maybe you drove a big distance and met him going randomly somewhere.

Lucky though!

I caught Franklin crossing the street, then when I tried to switch to him, he was in his house.. Was probably a bug though, idk.

I know if you follow another character long enough they will attack you

I left Trevor in front of a Ammunation once, switched to Franklin to do a few Strangers and Freaks and returned to that same Ammunation 20 minutes later, Trevor was right where I left him. Asking if I wanted to hang out as I got out of my car.
