I'm cool with the defense system only attacking aircraft...I like the idea of being able to defend my yacht with a little PVP back and forth. Let's face it, anyone making their way to the yacht via boat only has one point of access and a simple sticky or proximity mine will resolve that. My issue is with the passives that can simply walk on board despite my wishes. The "no fly zone" should be a "no passive" zone. A simple warning as they approach let's them know that passive will be removed if they proceed. Problem solved...mostly. There's still the small issue of people being able to punch and kick you when they are on the yacht and the defenses are up. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or if it only happens sometimes but I've been nearly killed because I couldn't fight back. This definitely needs to change, and soon.

 

It would also be great if you could simply select a specific player and have them booted from the yacht. Just like your apartment, you should be able to vacate the entire yacht at will. I've had a blast trying to defend my yacht, and I've certainly abused the defense system to weed out those who I don't want on it, but a few tweaks here and there could really eleminate the issue of unwated guests.

They really need to force people out in passive especially in the piracy prevention game. It is just ridiculous that you can get on the boat in passive

This seems like an unreasonable addition considering all the things Rockstar should be focusing their attention on instead. I would much rather they try and add in sea life to GTAOnline for the PC. Such a shame that there's no sharks, whales, dolphins, etc in the ocean... especially now that we have these awesome yachts. Also, I'd like an option to choose which vehicles spawn on my helipad/boat port. I'd love to be able to store my Dodo seaplane behind my yacht. Or be able to deliver my hydra to the front helipad.

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you want to get rid of people sneaking on to your boat... turn off defense system and light them the f*ck up. Or hell... have your bodyguards do it for you... that is the point after all.

I don't have a yacht but I do have a Dodo. Been trying to perfect a method where using the float's to approach from behind, under air defences, then at the last moment take to the air to belly flop on the hot tub funsters. Just takes so long to keep getting the Dodo.

Bounties don't remove people from passive mode. I'm not sure why anyone who plays the game regularly would think they do. You can stop them from going into passive - once, until someone kills them - but if they're already in passive and you put on a bounty, they stay in passive.

Bounties don't remove people from passive mode. I'm not sure why anyone who plays the game regularly would think they do. You can stop them from going into passive - once, until someone kills them - but if they're already in passive and you put on a bounty, they stay in passive.

 

 

I know it doesn't boot them from passive mode, but now they have to make a choice if they want to stay in passive mode and be on the boat and do nothing and be stuck in passive mode while the timer doesn't run or get out of passive mode and then go from there and either get swimming or I'll turn off the defenses.

 

Also, have now started bountying the people swimming or jetsking towards the boat. They go right for the proximity mines and haven't gone passive yet.

You can put Yacht access to no-one. Move you yacht on the other side of the map. The people on your yacht will be place on the shore where your yacht used to be. But this technique involve paying 25K

I did that earlier - moved from Vespucci Beach to the very top of the map. I left in the dingy, the unwelcome guests went ashore, I turned back and moved back to my original place. Money well spent.

I've actually seen with my own eyes now that the yacht defense system is avoidable. Some random got on my yacht, stole my helicopter, and flew off. I saw explosions near him, but he managed to avoid them.

 

So to everyone flaunting their jet - padded k/d's: you couldn't avoid AA defenses that even a helicopter can dodge. Think about that - while in a military jet, you couldn't dodge what an ordinary helicopter can.

 

You can pull out as many high levels and k/d's as you want, it doesn't change that. I myself have a k/d over 1.00 - and I fully acknowledge that it's only because I like to use certain vehicles (particularly helicopters). If I switched in and out of passive mode, abused suicide, and never left my jet, it could be much higher. But I don't care about this pointless number, so I don't play like a b***h.

 

I could do - I can use a jet as well as most of everyone else (it's actually really quite easy). But I don't. People need to stop pretending they've found some hidden talent - most people can use these things, they just prefer to stick to more balanced vehicles and legitimate tactics instead.

Sounds good OP Hate people who board my yacht and act like its theirs. Not only that, they start sh*t with other players that ends up with me in Passive Mode cursing the others as they f*ck around on something that isn't theirs. A simple kick option would do the trick.

I had mine set to Friends and had the defense system on. Was leaning on the rail looking out over Vespucci. I looked up from my laptop and had the typical passive player. Standing centimeters from my character. He eventually left. 15 min later the VIP player who owns the yacht moored infront of mine fly's over mine and of course explodes. He waltzed up on my yacht out of passive like he owned it. Did the typical "Middle finger" and "air thrust" actions to try and get a reaction.

So idk what happened but with it set to friends he strolled on with no problem. Before that the non-vip player who boarded died. Hope it's not VIP and passive players can stroll onto your sht no matter the settings.

As far as the security detail. I liked the invisible barrier idea Where they wouldn't be able to walk up the stairs.

First of all i haven't tried approaching a yacht with any air vehicle. Just from reading topics, i can see that the yacht defense system is an issue and R will do something like they did the tank.

 

As for dodging the explosives with a heli, its actually easier to do so than the jets. Has been proven by multiple people on the boards. Any random can do it. So before you say i cant do it, you're wrong.

 

There's been one topic saying it's overpowered, and 90% of the people there condemned the person who started it anyway. If you think it's overpowered, you're either a bit crazy, or just want everything to be easy.

 

These yachts are not on the ground - you do not have to approach them, and will generally have no risk of flying over them by accident.

 

You should try helicopters, they're a real challenge; unlike jets.

In the mean time it appears that if your yacht spawns in a less populated area you won't be bothered too much. I was out on my yacht for hours and had zero visitors basically because it wasn't in an area players typically frequent;the only person who came close was on a boat but they were getting chased by police so they weren't really there for me.
