Also, I'm not sure how you're calling a level 560+, day 1 player with more money than God and more player kills than you a scrub - seems like an abuse of the word.

This isnt COD, in an open sandbox world with almost no limits to what you can do...you can expect to survive by all means necessary.

I've only had friends launch on to my yacht with boats. So i couldn't tell you.

 

 

But the 1st day. When everyone was trying to board no one could get on. I sat there for a while watching people try. And when i did change the settings they got on. I didn't even know this was an issue till a friend told me about it. Then me and him argued for a bit till he tried to get on, he couldn't and was like WTF???

 

My only issue so far was friends taking my helicopters all the time. Which i then set to no one and they could still use. But when i changed locations they could not use it.

 

Gonna test it again today. But if people are having issues we should all spam R* support.

 

 

I've yet to have a uninvited guests on board, but have had plenty of people try. It must be working as intended for me so far. But it probably won't last if everyone else is having issues.

My problem with the security detail idea is that I want my yacht to be a chill place, not one with a bunch of armed guards shooting at players all the time. I'd much rather have the missile system work on boats, swimmers, and divers than guns going off all the time.

 

Speaking of guns going off all the time, isn't that what griefers would be doing if they simply couldn't step foot on the yacht and the game told them they weren't given access?

I don't have many randoms come to my yacht. If they do, I disable defenses, kill them, and move on.

Also the defense system is bogus, with no cooldown and very abusive. Yacht owners can even lure players on board and kill them off guard.

 

Its all good tho, a well planned attack from sea and air can really mess them up lmao.

 

 

ranking means nothing and neither does the k/d ratio, especially when you pad it by hiding in an armored brick and get easy kill.... and 3 characters? not possible, you can only have two, so nice try..

if you want Rockstar to mess more stuff up, so you can use your armored bricks and grief the players on the yachts, so be it, but it's not going to happen.

This idea just occurred to me. Yachts should each have a security detail - NPC goons who walk around and defend the yacht. And if your access is set to exclude strangers, security should attack them, even if they're in passive mode. Problem solved - nobody will be on your boat long with a half dozen Merryweather guys shooting them with their typical pinpoint accuracy. Even if they do run around and survive a while, they'll be bothering you less, and you'll get to be entertained by watching them die.

 

The same goons could also shoot at anyone inside the invisible defense bubble - people trying to invade by boat or parachute.

Great idea OP. The only ones opposed will be those that can't afford a yacht.

They don't need to roam around. Just two stationed on the fantail that have highly accurate shooting skills. No need for separate settings. They follow the same settings as the defense system.

This seems like an unreasonable addition considering all the things Rockstar should be focusing their attention on instead. I would much rather they try and add in sea life to GTAOnline for the PC. Such a shame that there's no sharks, whales, dolphins, etc in the ocean... especially now that we have these awesome yachts. Also, I'd like an option to choose which vehicles spawn on my helipad/boat port. I'd love to be able to store my Dodo seaplane behind my yacht. Or be able to deliver my hydra to the front helipad.

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you want to get rid of people sneaking on to your boat... turn off defense system and light them the f*ck up. Or hell... have your bodyguards do it for you... that is the point after all.

I've actually seen with my own eyes now that the yacht defense system is avoidable. Some random got on my yacht, stole my helicopter, and flew off. I saw explosions near him, but he managed to avoid them.

 

So to everyone flaunting their jet - padded k/d's: you couldn't avoid AA defenses that even a helicopter can dodge. Think about that - while in a military jet, you couldn't dodge what an ordinary helicopter can.

 

You can pull out as many high levels and k/d's as you want, it doesn't change that. I myself have a k/d over 1.00 - and I fully acknowledge that it's only because I like to use certain vehicles (particularly helicopters). If I switched in and out of passive mode, abused suicide, and never left my jet, it could be much higher. But I don't care about this pointless number, so I don't play like a b***h.

 

I could do - I can use a jet as well as most of everyone else (it's actually really quite easy). But I don't. People need to stop pretending they've found some hidden talent - most people can use these things, they just prefer to stick to more balanced vehicles and legitimate tactics instead.

I set my yacht access to Crew & Friends right after I bought it. Have since had multiple strangers on my yacht, in my hot tub or just running around. That's with the defenses on or off, it doesn't seem to matter.

 

Also, judging by the replies to this thread, other owners are experiencing the same thing.

All you have to do is turn the yacht defense to on and the vehicle access option set to at the very least "friends" and then they can't do anything to you.

 

I don't really see much of a reason for Rovkstar to change anything about it, and with their past history of always breaking multiple items when trying to fix/change one thing I really would not even want to see them even attempt to change anything.

Why is anyone ever paranoid about a passive player they don't know hanging out ten feet from them? Because they can decide to kill you at any time, as soon as your guard is down - that's the main reason.

 

Your "reason" there is not a good reason at all. Spawning a few NPCs would be an incredibly simple thing for them to do.

Like I said, as long as you have the yacht defenses set to on they can't do anything to you or the yacht, even if they come out of passive mode, even the people sniping from land can't do anything to you. When it is set to on, no one can pull their weapons out, or fight.

 

So like I said if you have yacht defenses set to on and vehicle access set to at the very least friends the random players CANNOT do anything to you or anyone else on the yacht and can only lean on the railings and get into the hot tub.

 

So yeah my reason is a good reason.

 

 

So every time you spawn in your apt, everyone gets come to your apt and walk right in. The random players CANNOT do anything to you or anyone else in the apt
