I'd be cool with AI players gunning down passive mode people who want to come onto my yacht. Anything that can get that kind of player is welcome in my book. So tired of passive mode being used as a tactic.

 

Off topic, but we could also do with aircraft carriers. Imagine carrying a group of Savages around, then letting them loose to cause chaos. It could have the same air defenses too, and you could go round gunning down jets.

If we could have aircraft carriers with savages, lazers and hydras on board I'd buy one and order them to sink your yacht.

Also, judging by the replies to this thread, other owners are experiencing the same thing.

It must be a bug or something. I even tested this with a friend after he told me what you told me. And even he could not get on. ANd he was all "WTF?"....

 

Did you have yours set to "None" then? I'm willing to test the other settings just to see what they do. Maybe Friends & Crew in particular doesn't work, I don't know. What happens when your friend swims to the ladders in the back - he just can't go up them? What happens if he tries to parachute on board?

I don't really see much of a reason for Rovkstar to change anything about it, and with their past history of always breaking multiple items when trying to fix/change one thing I really would not even want to see them even attempt to change anything.

 

I bought the yacht for me, not every other player in the session.

 

Yacht defences are only for aircraft. Boats and swimmers are not targetted by it.

 

Simple solution, make the whole of the yacht invite only, like apartments and garages currently are.

Shame. I'd just get them to kill the yacht owner over and over.

Move the yacht far away when you see one of those noobs.

 

...at a cost of 25K. No thanks. I may be wealthy but that's still a massive ripoff. And another sore subject with me (I'm tired of my yacht moving itself around).

Why is anyone ever paranoid about a passive player they don't know hanging out ten feet from them? Because they can decide to kill you at any time, as soon as your guard is down - that's the main reason.

 

Your "reason" there is not a good reason at all. Spawning a few NPCs would be an incredibly simple thing for them to do.

Like I said, as long as you have the yacht defenses set to on they can't do anything to you or the yacht, even if they come out of passive mode, even the people sniping from land can't do anything to you. When it is set to on, no one can pull their weapons out, or fight.

 

So like I said if you have yacht defenses set to on and vehicle access set to at the very least friends the random players CANNOT do anything to you or anyone else on the yacht and can only lean on the railings and get into the hot tub.

 

So yeah my reason is a good reason.

He got close to the jet skies and boats but could not get on board. Just stuck in the water.

 

Honestly i always had it set to friends and crew. A few times i set it to everyone because, people where floating around the yacht asking me to come on.

 

I wonder if the defenses up and down might cause problems with it not working.. i dunno.

 

Now i wanna figure this out too.

 

 

I've also had some other weird stuff happen like outside lights some how glitching inside. Which looked pretty cool. Not sure how that happened.

What if I don't want the defenses on, for whatever reason? What if I want the option to use my weapons for whatever reason? I have to tie my hands behind my back just to prevent randoms from killing me while they hang out on my 9 million dollar boat against my will?

 

I still want my security detail.

Honestly, just f'in ask if you want to get on my yacht. I had two people who were like full on trying to fly straight down into the Yacht yesterday and kept getting obliterated. I finally said, "if you want to see it just ask." They said yeah and I invited them. I didn't spend $7M GTA and all manner of time and effort grinding and farming and whatever just to come back from doing something else and find randoms crawling all over my stuff. I'm not going to go into the whole "peasants" thing, just this is not something I spent a lot of time to get so that you could use it for free. The boat as a whole does need to have some option to toss people entirely. Or I'm going to be spending a lot on prox mines.

Was he hitting Y to try to get on the boat/jet ski, or just going to the ladder to try to climb up? Maybe he didn't actually understand how to board.

I don't mind people visiting as most I have meet so far are nice & just want to look around but it's getting really annoying now when the odd random shows up sits in my hottube then as you leave they shoot you down as their weapons become active.

 

Things I would like in the future.

 

1. Security team so you can kick off unwanted intruders if they trespass.

2. A plank & Pirate flag then I can walk those pesky trespassers off the ship with a nice pair of concrete boots.

3. NPC Instant Party option including many dancing girls & superstar DJ.

4. Proper Helicopter pickup. When you call in the copter in it only spawns on the beach. You might as well call in Merryweather for the same price as they pick you up wherever you are.

5. Mini games like Skeet shooting off the bow & scuba diving for clams.

6. Poker/blackjack table.

7. Launch a firework display from the ship so you can watch it from the deck.

8. An outside mini-bar area.

9. A waterslide from the deck.

10. A few docking slots so you can have a sub, seaplane or any watercraft you own also spawn around the ship.

parachutes get shot down by my defenses however the board and swimmers can board still. Settings are On crew and friends

No "defending" against passive players. As for Merryweather, they're not that good but they're better in small spaces (like on a yacht) than out in the open world where you have cars and cover to hide behind. And if someone was in passive, Merryweather will kill them eventually. There's not many places to hide. And I'd enjoy watching them run.

The funny thing is me and you are having the exact same conversation me and him had. He made me test it... and he was shocked that he could not get on. (hes level 500 so he knows how to climb)

 

Now this is starting to bug me. Must be a reasons as to why its happening.

I think something must be broken. As the yacht access is meant to work exactly how it seems to be working for me. I can only imagine it won't stay like this if lots of other players are having issues.

 

Because its not like that setting is for getting inside the yacht as you have to be invited inside anyways.

Another one that I've pondered is putting a bounty on randoms who board while I'm inside. Lock them out and then tell them not to worry because the defense system is on....when it's really not.
