Is there any way to swap characters without going to public free roam?

Every time I swap characters, it takes me to a public free roam lobby, even if I started in an "invite only" session first. Public free roam lobbies take a lot longer to load, then I have to exit GTAO and start a new invite only session which takes even longer, since I don't want to get into a gunfight with random people or have jets try to blow me up on my way out to sell a Baller or get snacks. Is there any way you can set it up to load into an invite only session by default, instead of public?

That's a little odd as it seems if I begin in an invite only than I usually switch accordingly when swapping characters. The only tip I can give is that if you end up in a public lobby, rather than exiting online and switching you can instead load up creator mode through the start menu and switch to invite only via that route more quickly.
