gooeyhole
So since the iOS port is fresh I thought I'd ask how your playthroughs are doing. Favorite missions so far? Weapons? Vehicles? Any major differences in the port? Â Is this anyone's first time playing LCS? Â If the thread blows up I'll have something to fap to as I wait for the Android version to release. Hurry up, Rockstar. Lethal Vaccine
I actually noticed the framerate is worse than PS2 in my case for the iPhone 6. It stutters so bad and lags horribly. I guess I gotta get used to it. I am glad it's released, though... Â I've already done LCS 12 times in all to 100% and obtained the same 72 Special Vehicles twice. Now that I got it for Mobile, I will do ONE Save (Not 6 like I did for PS2) and go for the best 12 Special Vehicles (Instead of all 72 like on PS2). First I will do a Starter Save to 48%. I've done this for PS2 as well so I know I can do it for LCS. I also own III, VC, SA, and CW for iOS, so I am no beginner to Mobile GTA Gaming. It's pretty easy for me. ALMOST as easy as playing on PS2 itself... gooeyhole

KilnerLUFC
Â Is this anyone's first time playing LCS? Â Bought it for PS2 not so many months back, so this is my first ever proper playthrough of the game, and not finding it that bad of a game atm tbh, since I realise it's a port of a handheld game, I know not to expect too much. Currently halfway through Staunton Island, and the only mission that has really pissed me off so far has to be the Portland Chainsaw Masquerade one... Â Will never top GTA3 for me, but fun nonetheless... gooeyhole

Lethal Vaccine
I do a speed run every time I play, basically, but I do it while obtaining 12 Special Vehicles and having minimal stats. Without doing Special Vehicles, I can probably do a Save for LCS around 15-18 Hours for 100%... Â But with Special Vehicles, I get 21 Hours to 28 Hours when I reach 100%. The 7 hour difference is dependent on which particular Vehicles I am obtaining cuz some take a long time to get. mkoyf and gooeyhole

Lethal Vaccine
Nice! That was pretty quick. It does go fast, though. On PS2, while starting at 48% instead of 0% since I did the Starter Save and only have Home Sweet Home passed, I can finish LCS in 2-3 days flat. It's really quick and easy and that is why I like it. VCS is a bit longer and boring, even with a 49.20% Starter Save in VCS, it still takes me a good 5 days to finish a VCS Save. Â I should be starting my LCS Mobile 48% Starter Save followed by reaching 100% with the best 12 Special Vehicles sometime in January. I just gotta finish my ultimate PS2 SA Save first that I am working on now. Should be done with it next Friday and then I can start LCS for Mobile... Lethal Vaccine
Bike Salesman from Staunton Island? All of those Bikes, like the Cars from Car Salesman are BP/EP/FP. They can't be converted to DP, either. You can convert them to PP, though. Anything with Tires can be converted to PP in LCS, but there is some limitations on the Crusher Glitch to add the DP property. It doesn't work with Helicopters, Bikes, or Large Vehicles like a Fire Truck, Trashmaster, Barracks OL, etc, etc...I literally have ALL of the BP/EP/FP Vehicles from Car Salesman and ALL of the BP/EP/FP Bikes from Bike Salesman. I converted the Cars to DP/PP so now they are AP/PP and I converted the Bikes to PP, so now they are BP/EP/FP/PP Bikes. Of course I did all these Saves on PS2 as I didn't start it on iOS yet, but in January I will start. Â Speaking of since you finished to 100%, is Car Salesman and Bike Salesman still active? Like, is the yellow marker still available even though they are completed? On PS2, Car Salesman is infinite, but on PSP, it's disabled once Level 6 is reached. Since the Mobile Version is like PS2, I'd imagine you can still do this. Socalkev

Yeah, good luck on getting a 40 points score in the "Scrapyard Challenge" side-mission - haha! I can't even imagine who's trying to make it using a touchscreen. Â However, it hasn't been that much since I last played, and completed GTA: Liberty City Stories on PS2. Besides some things about its storyline, I really enjoyed it. Some side missions were pretty hard("Scrapyard Challenge" and "Taxi Driver" more than anything), but I didn't find the other ones very difficult to pass. Also, I personally loved the "The Portland Chainsaw Masquerade"/"Slash TV" mission/side-mission - just pack yourself with a Python/Chainsaw, and you're safe. Â I do really like GTA: Liberty City Stories, and even though I prefer GTA: Vice City Stories, I never completed it at 100% as opposed to its predecessor. Both of them are very underrated, sadly. Lethal Vaccine
Scrapyard Challenge isn't that bad. What's the problem with Taxi Fares? I do 100 in a row. They are boring, but simple...
KarimNTerr
I don't know, getting a maximum score of 40 points in "Scapyard Challenge" made me want to break the joypad in half - haha! It was very easy to fall off the bike, but I liked how it was designed. Â Anyway, I'm having the same issue with GTA: Vice City Stories in the "Taxi Driver" side-mission: in GTA: Liberty City Stories, after 70/100 (20/50 in GTA: Vice City Stories), more or less, fares the time always run out, but after a week of retries I actually made it. It's not a difficult mission per se, but you have to calculate the fastest route to take to reach your destination, and a small error could compromise your goal. It's just, me, though, as I've already said, the mission in itself is not that hard, actually. However yes, it's pretty repetitive, doing the same thing for 100 times in a row can be pretty boring after a while, at least in GTA: Vice City Stories they are more original, and there are only 50 fares. Don't get me wrong, though, the vehicular-missions themselves are quite enjoyable. Â I found GTAIII's "Paramedic" mission harder back in the days I first played it, though. Lethal Vaccine
I found GTAIII's "Paramedic" mission harder back in the days I first played it, though. Â Lol, this was the same for me. I agree. I used to think III's Paramedics was the hardest Side Mission in the 3D Era (III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS), but now I find it just like the rest of the games. Â It's why I do a Starter Save. Get a lot of the annoying, boring mundane tasks out of the way first thing and then back it up so I always have it. You can reach 48% game completion, right after Home Sweet Home. I done it for PS2, so I will do it for iOS. A lot of the annoying stuff is done right when you star the game and there is only about 12% worth of Side Missions you can't do early and the Story itself is 40%. Once you have this Starter Save you can then use it for future playthroughs and it makes the game much more enjoyable as you can focus on the Story and have fun with obtaining Special Vehicles and such. There is 80 in total in LCS. I've obtained 72 of them on PS2 across 6 Save Files since 12 Vehicles can only fit in each Save. 3 Garages x 4 Special Vehicles in Each = 12. Lethal Vaccine
VCS was boring. Level 12 is bad enough. Level 15? More Replay Value? Just the opposite, really. They just made the game strung out in VCS making you do so much annoying Side Missions. Air Rescue Level 15 with broken Helicopter Physics? LOL, Boats and Helicopters were the slowest in the Series in VCS. Overall, I find LCS way better than VCS. Â Furthermore, if you use Checkpoints in VCS instead of doing Level 1 through 15 in a row, it will continue to add +1 to Mission Attempts. If I am activating an R3 Mission, I am gonna finish it from Level 1 through 12 or 15 (VCS) since I am keeping my Deaths/Busted/Cheats at 0, but also having Minimum Mission Attempts. The lowest you can get in LCS is 113 and same in VCS. 113 is the lowest you can get if you pass everything with no failures whatsoever.
GreenOnions
This actually is my first time playing LCS, so I was really excited to hear that it was coming to mobile! I have to imagine that they'll also be porting VCS at some point too, so that's something else to look forward to. Â I haven't gotten too far into the game as of yet, but here's some early impressions? Â Gameplay-wise, it seems kind of odd that for drive-bys, you have to both hold down a left or right aiming button and a shooting trigger. Maybe this has something to do with the game originally being released on a handheld, but it's kind of a hindrance here, since now it's not just a matter of driving and shooting, but driving, shooting, and aiming. I feel like this is going to make the Vigilante missions less fun, but I haven't attempted them yet. Â I like that you can activate an aiming mode for pretty much all projectile weapons, rather than just a select few like the sniper rifle or rocket launcher in previous games, mthough the auto-aim is precise enough that it seems mostly unnecessary. Even in that mission where you have to protect Salvatore from the Sindaccos by picking them off with a sniper rifle, I eventually just jumped down to the ground and got into the fray with Salvatore and his guys. It never felt like Salvatore (and by extension, the mission) was in any serious danger; it was just that getting on the ground felt like a more efficient way of getting that done. Â I like the selection of outfits available so far for Toni; they're quite varied and each has its own distinctive vibe. Being able to change into any outfit you want at the safehouses is convenient and makes more sense than picking out outfits scattered across the map ala Vice City, but changing into something different doesn't appear to have any effect on your wanted level. That was one of the cooler tricks about Vice City for me; it added a level of strategy, to both try and avoid getting your wanted level about two stars, since the clothes pickups respawned much more quickly than police bribe stars, and you wanted to avoid relying on the stars if at all possible since it would be a long time before they would reappear. Â The side missions are a mixed bag; the firefighting mission is a lot easier, probably because the water cannon seems to know exactly where to aim, and I was able to complete the mission on my first try. On the other hand, you don't get nearly as much bonus money for the taxi missions, so there's less incentive to complete them early on. Â Some of the missions feel a bit repetitive; do we really need multiple missions to illustrate that the Pay-and-Spray is the best way to lose your wanted level? At the same time, I haven't run into a mission as of yet that I actively disliked. Â Story/character-wise, it's pretty enjoyable thus far. Â Â It kind of gets off to a slow start with Vincenzo, who was (is?) kind of one-note; a generic all-around prick. (He certainly looks dead, but I'm skeptical that we've seen the last of him). Salvatore and Maria are both entertaining though. Toni's relationship with JD was interesting in that he's forced to work with someone he has no respect for, But as time goes on they seem to develop a decent working relationship. But I can't say that I was sorry or surprised to see him go. That whole series of events, JD being shot in the back of the head in a car, then Toni having to dump the car with JD's body into the river was very Goodfellas-esque, which is never a bad thing! Toni's relationship with his mother is nothing short of bizarre, but I don't mind dealing with the hitmen, since they're usually carrying armor, which is kind of hard to come by at this point. Â Â LCS feels unusually linear at that point. Most of the other games typically give you two or three "clients" to take missions from at any given time, but here you're often left with just one available mission you need to complete to advance the story. Â Finally, I was surprised by how they handled the music, using more of their own songs than inserting better known ones. I guess it makes sense in that this was how was in III, but it still feels like a step backward in a way. I also liked the original songs in III quite a lot better (Feels Like I Just Can't Take No More, Fade Away, Forever, See Through You, Good Thing). All of those just did a better job of capturing the sound of late-90s/early-2000s pop than the songs here, IMO. Between the music and the commercials, the radio feels a bit weaker than usual; not nearly as funny. But that may be fitting, in that III had a darker atmosphere overall than VC or SA. Â Not my favorite by any means, but I'm still having a good time.
