Does anybody else think the OP needs to get some perspective?

 

Last night I spent all evening splurging my cash on new property, various cars, resprays, car modifications and transferring those cars between my five properties. Dawdling around in my own little GTA world... and it was a lovely evening, just like a gigantic shopping spree that lasted for hours and hours.

 

But here you're talking about spending days and weeks getting 10 million for just for ONE purchase? For one hit, for one in-game item? By all means suit yourself, but you'll be back after the next DLC grinding all that cash all over again for small kicks.

I was constantly invited to the finale when I met a good crew. I'd just f*ck around in free roam until I got a party invite. They usually needed me for bikes and finale. The only time I made more was pimpin dead hookers to the glitch gods.

Worth it to me. I've wanted a Yacht since Online went live. And having to grind actually has me playing again, I would only jump on for DLC releases before. Been too busy with other games like Fallout and WWE.

 

Then once I buy the yacht, I'll be grinding for a 5th apartment, then more cars, then the next dlc will come out.

 

If I had the money already, realistically I'd probably be bored already with no reason to keep playing.

Good point, but I got my fifth apartment and a garage full of lovely cars just by playing the game and NOT by playing Fallout 4 and WWE and whatever else..., and I've still got millions left. If you play the game naturally, get good at it, all of that stuff will come... but maybe I'm misinterpreting the word "grind", as I don't really see it like that.

 

BTW, I'm not too far off that yacht myself, and will certainly buy one when the time is right

I don't see it as grinding either, I love playing Cleaning the Cat house repeatedly by myself and driving those curvy roads got me so good at driving that I win the no crash challenge everytime in freemode events. I literally can play it with my eyes closed for more than a few seconds. I kid you not, Im that familiar with the roads, When my eyes are burning at the end of the day, they naturaly burn cause Im on the computer a lot. Ill just shut my eyes for a quick doze while still driving.

Maybe grind isn't the right word, it is but it isn't, haha.

 

Yeah, if only I woulda waited a lil' while longer. Had over 10 million when the Lowriders update came and tbh I wasn't even a fan of a lot of them, but I still bought one of everything anyway and fully souped. I figured hey, it's a new update, probably won't be another for awhile and I feel like burning all this cash I've been saving for a few months and just said screw it.

 

I'm just glad I didn't waste money on the Gold plane or copter, I almost did once when I was bored looking at my bank account before with nothing else to buy because everythings already owned

Honestly, I've played this game for more days worth of time than I'd care to admit and yet I still find it tremendous fun. I do, however, have the philosophy that this game is a lot of fun, but it's much more fun if you have a good deal of GTA$.

 

I've grinded a hell of a lot. Still, at this point I couldn't go through ages of endlessly doing heists with terrible randoms again to get to $10M. When there were 2x heists for a month, I played the **** out of that. I'm the guy who had tons of gold/chrome dubstas when they were spawning in the hills. I can't be that guy anymore. I couldn't play Rooftop Rumble a thousand times again. I have 8M left after this update and quite honestly, that's fine.

 

You have to realize that you have to have some focus here-and-there about making money in this game because R* is not going to let you know about an update until a week before or thereabouts. They're not going to give you months ahead of time to prepare.

@Fspiral,. content isn't going anywhere but the interest could, Im already seeing lower turnout on the waters since everyones already checked out the yacht. if you like slow gameplay two weeks from now then sure, the yacht is for you.

I like the intense, every second Im on my toes in the city action. So Im not one to consider the yacht. I wish I could've rented one for the first day , that's about it.

I feel it really depends on your play style and how people use the yacht. I cant see the interest fading for some people like myself, but others just wont care after a while. Im not into pvp and am friendly to a fault. Even though theres a 90 % chance a random will shoot me i give them the choice not to and maybe we can have some stupid fun. For me the yacht is just more stupid fun. I read your warning thread. Theres a huge contrast between our play styles and I think that tells a lot about who may enjoy this thing and who wont.

 

Gotta say. Wish you hopped on my yacht instead. Then I could have watched in horror as you killed all my guests.

nope, I saved all my money from Double Heists AND I didn't spend all my money on the last 2 or 3 updates before this because I KNEW this was coming. I warned folks on these forums, don't spend all your money.

 

Yet people did it anyway, and now folks are in your boat, and it actually bothers me that you are in that predicament, content you are essentially locked from because of the huge amount of in game money to it. I mean I can understand some people's sentiment of, "Progression" but even at a normal clip your months from it, and who knows what other super expensive sh!t will drop in the mean time.

 

Heck even I got to come out of retirement and start grinding heists again.

 

I'm sorry for your situation and I hope you get a good group to grind you up there. Keep in mind that 10 Mill is the upward limit, my yacht, was about 8.5 - 9.0, I didn't get the Gold fittings, and I kept the lighting presidential, I went more stealthy and military light, so Black w/ red striping and as dark as I can.

I keep a minimum balance of 20 million at all times and after this recent update I'm now down to 11 million, so my grind back to 20 mill began yesterday. In one, four hour session I made 650,000 utilizing contact missions, the VIP sightseeing mission, several Fleeca finales and random vehicle sales. I varied my activities, enjoyed my time and only sacrificed a few hours of my day. I still managed a dinner, a movie and Christmas shopping with my girlfriend among other day off related tasks. My point, if done smartly you could easily acquire 10 million in a couple of weeks of dedicated grinding without making it your life...don't let the nay Sayers get you down too much.

Just do CM and when someone dies you and your crew mates need to close the application immediately so it doesn't reset the progress. Then you'll just load up the game and continue. Makes it a hell of a lot less stressful.
