The yacht defence system is ridicolously OP

Alright, yesterday i picked my hydra and gone near a yacht, and all of a sudden, it exploded. There wasnt any missile chasing me , so i thought it was a bug. I retried again and my hydra randomly explodes, AGAIN. It would be ok if it was some sort of SAMS missiles chasing aircrafts and doing crazier turns than the homing launcher, making life difficult for the attackers, but at the actual state its impossible to even fly near the yacht, because you immediately get randomly exploded out of the sky.Rockstar should nerf this system by replacing it with the more reasonable SAM missiles, so avoiding death is still possible. And people should enjoy their yachts on private/solo lobbies, since public lobbies are made for deathmatch.

I bought my yacht today and, as soon as I spawned at my yacht, some twat was approaching in a Savage, presumably to kill me. But then he was obliterated!

Yacht* The yachts aren't classed as a vehicle. They are classed as Apartments. The defense system was added due to the yacht having exterior areas that include new animations actions. Can't relax in the hot tub when you're yacht is getting strafed by a hydra.

The system is more of a "passive" mode for people on the boat. An instant kill zone for anybody dickish enough to go very much out of their way to ruin someone else's time is nice, but I could see some people exploiting that. I paid millions to get away from the city's war; It's nice to be able to keep it away.

Says this, clearly knowing there are IO lobbies to avoid FR war... You shouldn't get such 'insta death' defenses in a public warzone. Seems like a more trolling way of dividing the haves and have nots, while simultaneously persecuting anyone taking advantage of FREE ROAM and what can be done there...

 

 

Is everyone free to be griefed by jets then? And did R* have the nerve to make them safe from Lazers and Hydras?

Not really. Use the Kraken to get near the back, surface and get blown away by the owner waiting for you on the back. Or make it aboard, realize defenses are active and you have no guns. Then get wasted when the owner drops his defenses and shotguns your face.

It won't be nerfed end of story. As far as the whole "You now what you get into when you join public lobbies. Yeah we do, But not every lobby is a full 30 player FR war. It's usually small skirmishes between congregated players. This allows for casual not normally aggressive players to be in public lobbies. That gives them the option of if they want to they can drive etc to these skirmishes and join into the war. This whole mindset of "You're in a public lobby YOU WILL JOIN THE WAR OR WE'LL FORCE YOU TO" is Causing problems. Some players join to watch the shenanigans of the war/ To show off/ To play with random players in public. Not everyone joins with the "FR Death match" mindset.

And I don't even get the whole mindset. Wars are a HUGE thing in the MC community and everytime we have a huge public war (EVERY TIME) there is always at least one jetscrub and 4+ randoms. Why do people join in on crew battles? What's the point?

I shot down a jet earlier but the pilot bailed out and tried getting onboard.

even before this happened i put down 3 proximity mines.

When the air defence is active it doesn't deactivate the mines ") bahahaha!

You know what else is funny I learned yesterday? If someone bails and parachutes the AA Defense System shoots them dead too. Was playing with a few friends and when I was on one yacht my other friend tried to parachute down. Got blown out of the sky.

Then don't go towards people's yacht? It literally fires off two warning shots like 'back up' then, if you proceed to move any closer, it will kill you - unless you know how to evade. And if you're in a jet, you should already know how to.

Some dumbasses will never understand. How can someone evade a random explosion is beyond me(dont know what weapon is supposed to be, but the way its programmed it works like a random explosion). Thats my point, the weapons in the yacht should be dodgable.

What exactly are you trying to gain here? You want to be able to dodge them and then what? Shoot at the yacht? Even if there was no instant explosion that kills you.. if defenses are up you can't KILL anyone.. PERIOD. It works like passive at that point anyways.

 

See the way i see it is.. Its basically a f*ck off type of thing. See you can't kill anyone anyways and no one want to sit there and just have you pummeling the yacht for hours on end making the screen rumble with explosive shots every two seconds. That is simply annoying. Really.. freakin annoying.

 

You have the entire land area to troll. Yet you are fixated on a small area of water with a boat. And you get a warning anyways.

got to love it. the same people who abuse the op military vehicles in this game and grief entire sessions are now whining about something else that is op, and giving the players that want nothing to do with the jet griefing and the jet griefers a way to avoid it....

 

you would not have these issues with the "op yacht defense system" if you would do more ground combart and not need to use the armored bricks to get all your kills.

Had a Hydra right behind me as I was on a Jetski heading out towards my boat. Lured them right towards the boat and watched what remained of his Hydra fly past. Was glorious.
