The yacht defence system is ridicolously OP

Then don't go towards people's yacht? It literally fires off two warning shots like 'back up' then, if you proceed to move any closer, it will kill you - unless you know how to evade. And if you're in a jet, you should already know how to.

Some dumbasses will never understand. How can someone evade a random explosion is beyond me(dont know what weapon is supposed to be, but the way its programmed it works like a random explosion). Thats my point, the weapons in the yacht should be dodgable.Don't retort to calling me a dumbass because YOU can't evade a missle properly. You have 2 options buddy.

 

1) stay the f*ck away from the yachts

2) fly high enough so the missiles can't get you.

It's not random - you get warned. They are completely dodgable.

I've encountered about 7 different yachts and haven't been killed by the defense systems (i was in the hydra for 5 of them).

So I don't feel that bad for jet pilots - there's just one place they're not allowed to take their overpowered vehicle; meanwhile the already underpowered helicopters are at that risk everywhere.

 

I agree that it's blatantly overpowered, but at the end of the day it's meant to be a safe place, and it's hardly like the jets themselves are balanced is it? I don't think it's a problem.

i don't know why you're attempting to attack the owner with jet even though obviously suicidal ( even then , the owner is immune almost all forms of damage as long as defense are maintained but he cannot fight back until he say so )

Well, to be fair, I only encountered it once. I flew my Hydra there to check out the system, seemed to just explode with no beeping or anything, so I got the message and didn't fly near them again.

 

It could have easily just lagged out I guess, or it could just be different to missiles/use a different technique.

 

At any rate, it's supposed to be a safe place, and the jet is pretty overpowered anyway.

Alright, yesterday i picked my hydra and gone near a yacht, and all of a sudden, it exploded. There wasnt any missile chasing me , so i thought it was a bug. I retried again and my hydra randomly explodes, AGAIN. It would be ok if it was some sort of SAMS missiles chasing aircrafts and doing crazier turns than the homing launcher, making life difficult for the attackers, but at the actual state its impossible to even fly near the yacht, because you immediately get randomly exploded out of the sky.Rockstar should nerf this system by replacing it with the more reasonable SAM missiles, so avoiding death is still possible. And people should enjoy their yachts on private/solo lobbies, since public lobbies are made for deathmatch.

WOW! First of all, there are game modes accompanying the yacht to play i public lobbies.

If it wasn't for jets being so overpowered, the homing launcher wouldn't have been added - meaning helicopters would be much more usable. Helicopters were already weak, and it's ridiculously hard to dodge the homing launcher in one of them.

 

So if there's a weapon that can take jets down, and it can't even be carried onto land/the usual battlegrounds (like the homing launcher can be), then it seems harmless to me. Just a small taste of what jets have done to helicopters.

 

From pretty much all accounts, it can be dodged anyway.

It's the same people who complained about people in passive coming out of passive and obliterating them. No it couldn't have been the fault of someone in passive that you were probably annoying the F out of them so they came out of passive, right? There are people in this game who see the yacht and go, "it's a big thing, I must obliterate it!" then throw a temper tantrum when they can't. Even if I took the yacht defenses down, you can't sink it anyways, so WTF is the point? The badasses who sit in their hydra for an hour griefing the lobby (and go in passive when their plane gets wrecked so that they can easily run to another) are now whining and it's ridiculous (and delightful.)
