The yacht defence system is ridicolously OP

Alright, yesterday i picked my hydra and gone near a yacht, and all of a sudden, it exploded. There wasnt any missile chasing me , so i thought it was a bug. I retried again and my hydra randomly explodes, AGAIN. It would be ok if it was some sort of SAMS missiles chasing aircrafts and doing crazier turns than the homing launcher, making life difficult for the attackers, but at the actual state its impossible to even fly near the yacht, because you immediately get randomly exploded out of the sky.Rockstar should nerf this system by replacing it with the more reasonable SAM missiles, so avoiding death is still possible. And people should enjoy their yachts on private/solo lobbies, since public lobbies are made for deathmatch.

I feel like the system is more accurate on the jet. Everytime i was testing out the system with a hydra I was blown out of the sky right away, but with a helicopter without any weapon on it I was able to fly in the zone and there was explosion all around me but could manage to live. The system is not OP its actually perfect, I can enjoy my yacht without jet griefer. If you want a fight come with a boat or submarine. I usually put the defense down on my yacht until I see a jet near me

Public lobbies aren't made for "deathmatch". They're made for randoms to share a lobby. What happens in that lobby is down to those people.

 

In the case of the yacht, its missile defense system is there to protect it and its owner from those that go around thinking public lobbies are made for "deathmatches" when they in fact, aren't.

I want there to be sea defenses as well. And a toggle so if you use the defense system you can set it to take out only aerial vehicles, only sea based vehicles, all of them, or have it turned off.

It seems to fire the equivalent of warning shots if you hang around on the edge of the warning zone. A friend and I were testing it and his Savage managed to evade a couple of shots and escape unscathed. He had to break off a direct approach, however. He didn't even get close.

 

I imagine there's a buffer zone or two; one where you get the warning, then closer you get a warning shot, then any closer and all bets are off.

Poor guy my a*s, i will not attack yachts since it has magical weapons no one has, neither the American army in their NO-FLY ZONE "Fort Zancudo. I will wait until rockstar replaces the defence with the more reasonable SAM missiles. I am not saying attacking yachts should be easy, but shouldnt be impossible as of now. For this, i think that the SAM missiles should do crazier turns than that of the homing launcher, and flying in circles should be useless.

It's not impossible. During a Piracy Prevention, Yacht defences are disabled and you can be the jet griefer you so clearly are to your hearts content. In normal freemode, it's nice to have a defense against it.

Yeah, won't happen, so enjoy the wait. Players can't actively wield the yacht's APS, so it's not nearly as OP as you're trying to claim.

 

Take your Hydra to solo freemode if you can't handle the power of these fully armed and operational luxury yachts.
