Bug with invisible online character

Not sure why I did not post this here before.

The ongoing ticket with rockstar support is now several weeks and pages long, but still not resolved.

So in case someone else has faced a similar problem before and have found a solution, please share!

 

This started around the time the lowrider dlc arrived.

Suddenly in a pacific heist setup my friends told me that my character's body had gone invisible. That means completely invisible(no passive mode effect or parts gone). I could see the character, but the team could not see me.

 

I thought, great, another new practical joke up the script-kid's sleeves?! Just restarted game. No difference. I then restarted the computer. No difference.

 

I need to point out that I NEVER EVER USED ANY MODS myself!!!
I also heard some players using a glitch to have a floating head/invisible body before, but I never ever touched that stuff. I am a clean player.

 

But it seems like the "invisible to other players-bug" only happens very very rarely. On the other hand, what I soon found out is that 90% in-game recordings of that character was then not visible in the editor. Thumbnail shows character, but footage just a floating gun or a bike driving itself. In director mode it is even worse; the character is never visible. In the casting trailer I can toggle "live" between the 2 online characters, but only one of them will be visible. Always the male and never the female.

So now my main character(female), is frustrated, because "she" never knows if she's visible before I record the game and enter the editor to check the footage...

 

Most friends are aware of my bug issue, but It is also frustrating for me when playing with randoms. They might think I am using some cheats to make the character invisible.

 

R* support and I have tried technical troubleshooting on my computer and on steam without getting anywhere. Also tried removing/re-applying tattoos, getting killed in director mode, etc, etc... nothing changes.

 

I am sure this is a R* server issue since all online saves of the characters are saved there. R* have still not ansvered me if the 2 characters's saves are in the same file directory in their servers.

 

So any tips or tricks are very welcome!

In worst case they need to delete that character, and transfer the inventory to a new one. But then I need to rebuild all the skills and unlocks from scratch... not the greatest solution!

Well... in my view it's not awesome at all.

 

(Hehe! Could be you were just joking, though)

 

Even if someone that had this bug/issue wanted to abuse it in the game, it would not work that way at all. Because you never know when you are visible to others or not. It is 100% random. Confirmation in the rockstar editor footage is the only way to find out without help from others.

 

But personally I would never use it that way even if it was fail-proof. Then I would not be any better than the script-kids that has ruined all the fun in gta online!
