I thought he was South African at first but after a while, definitely an Aussie.

 

As for people saying Scottish... Really... Scottish.... Just no.

As a rule, every Kiwi I've ever known had a nice, cultured and subtle accent whereas the Australians sound like louts. Thus the former are a joy to hear and the latter rape my ears, although not as bad as Engish accents which seem to flip between annoying and rage-inducing.

 

And yet, the Irish are again a joy. Evidently bit of the ocean is all it takes to swap between obnoxious and acceptable.

 

While we're on the subject, Scots run the gamut and a Welsh voice makes even baby jesus cry.

 

Americans are all over the map, but mostly awful. Not English awful, mind you, but close.

I thought it would change depending on your flag but it all makes sense now...

 

There's actually a lot of Australian sea captains in the multibillion dollar Yacht industry, particularly in Europe. Billionaires seem to love a good Aussie Captain, as well as exotic waitresses.

 

P.S The accent is pretty bad

Granted, in Braveheart they do but that's 'cos Mel Gibson is an Aussie.
