Petition to enhance the 'bodyguard system' in GTA Online

Though the 'Executives and other Criminals' update for Grand Theft Auto Online is a vast and well-enacted adaptation for the game, it could use a few additional or modified features.

For brevity's sake, this petition seeks to change the current system of bodyguard compensation to allow executives to adjust the income that their bodyguards receive and thus distinguish one organization from another.

The new compensation system would simply do the following:

  • Allow executives to pay bodyguards individually or simultaneously in adjustable intervals
  • Cap the maximum paycheck per pay-period to $100,000
  • Create an 'organization bank account'

If you are a Grand Theft Auto Online patron, I urge you to sign this petition to increase the likelihood of Rockstar implementing these select features. Please sign the petition here: https://goo.gl/xFS2qY

Many thanks,

Jeh.

Goddamn, that slap was so swift I think I got hurt by the wind it made on the way by.

OT: So, ability to raise pay up to 100K? Definitely gonna be abused, mate. Every VIP will just set it to 100K no matter what the bodyguards do for the VIP. That organization bank you mentioned should be elaborated, though. Why would an organization have a bank even though the VIP contract ends after 4 hours? Do you mean you all share the same money for 4 hours and then get split at the end or does the organization, depending on levels/skills, can have more money to distribute between each bodyguard meaning higher levels/better skilled players can have higher paid bodyguards? If second, that could be interesting...say, average level of each player combined in organization should be "X" and if met you can pay your bodyguards more than the 5K currently set.

VIP could also set his own cut (like in heists, pretty much).

Sorry, not signing. This update is just way too new to change it. Let's get used to it more and figure out what's worth changing. This isn't worth it - at least not yet. There's more pressing issues for GTA:O (like the f*cked economy, as I've said for way too long).

You have some good ideas but they won't work.

Firstly, since heists no one would trust a VIP not to pay them $50 there would have to be a bare minimum, if you're here long enough you'll see players defending giving only 10 or 5 percent in heists.

100k is too much. 20k is more reasonable

You need to make the petition more attractive. If you tell everyone they get a free hat then it'll attract more attention. Never underestimate the power of a free hat.

The changes suggested in the petition would not create 'free money' but rather allow the VIP to pay out-of-pocket as all of the proceeds for organization tasks do go to him or her. The petition is purposefully open-ended to allow Rockstar leeway in implementing some of the ideas.

Thank you for your input.

So what happens when you reach the heady heights of 100 supporters?
Will you turn up on their doorstep demanding change? If not, I'm not signing!

I will pursue this as vigorously as the support-base permits.

Except near as I can tell bodyguard payments happen out of thin air, not the VIP's pocket. Am I wrong on this?

That is correct. That is why one suggestion is to allow for the payment out-of-pocket.

I don't see the need for hostility. I'm fully aware of the things that you said, I simply chose to address one part of your statement as I find the other simply cynical.

What a terrible abuse of change.org!

Really, it's a freaking video game. At least make a petition about something that matters!

This thread needs to be locked and the petition needs to be forgotten about.

It is clearly important enough for you to be so vocally involved on a GTA Online forum post about a 'freaking video game' that 'doesn't matter'.

What I feel is important is the abuse of the idea of a petition. Go make a petition about something importnant and worth-while.

We all have our own ideas about what is important and worth-while. I'm sure we'd agree on many of those thing believe it or not, however, I believe that there is always a necessity for change regardless of what's in question.
