Mehh, haven't been on a single yacht yet, nor do i wanna get on one, there is nothing and i mean nothing to do there. Sit in a big bathtub and do nothing.

Yes the crowds are quite dwindling already. I was in three 20 plus person lobbies and only two-three players were out on the yachts compared to 10 plus last night, or could just be the evening crowd attracted to ocean fun more so than day.

Defenses are down/ weapon wheels are disabled on every player so everyone is friendly and chill, We all get into the hot tub and have fun

 

Yacht owner suddenly takes defenses down and a friend of his bombs the whole hot tub killing everyone in there instantly. At least 8 of us died, Others around the pool were gunned down. Yacht owner then puts defenses back up so no one can take revenge.

 

I took the chance to trust and chill and be friendly for the first time from everyone here encouraging me to try it out and that's what I get, lol

 

Time to go back and treat the whole map like a death match, Im done with being lured in for friendly role play. Im done, ill never be convinced this game can have friendly get togethers , no way, no how, nor ever.

 

You post a warning thread yet give more attention to something that was blatantly obvious as soon as you start playing with the yacht options in the interaction menu.

 

 

Online multiplayer, you say.

 

Make friends in public free mode, you say.

That is why you set yourself in passive mode as double protection. Never trust anyone in a GTA Online freeroam public session.

And don't go into the heli, it's an instant passive-disable.

 

I investigated a couple of yachts yesterday while I was killing time checked out the new heli that was on one of them, got a message saying something about passive disable and disregarded it. When I realized it was passengers only I got out. After that I got into the hottub and just as I relaxed...

Had fun last night, when one of my mates became the beast - on my Yacht:

 

 

It was pretty hilarious seeing people come out to the Yacht, only to be slaughted by us repeatedly. The weapons defence system protects the beast as well when on, so even when people made it on board they could not do any thing.

 

When we had a few people on board, I would (in a party with the beast) count down deactivating the weapon defences and then wipe them all out before they had a chance to react - then quickly turn the defences back on when they respawned on the Yacht.

 

Sometimes I would move the Yacht to a new location, leaving anyone that was on the ship behind - yet they would then come to the new location.

 

Needless to say we received a lot of nasty messages - but it was well worth it! ^_^

It was a lot more mellow today, All the full lobbies Ive been on, only one yacht on avg, two players on board. Most back on freeroam, with a quarter of the lobby into VIP and bodyguard missions.

OT, in Los Santos, strangers are not to be trusted, ever. Rule #1. OP forgot that and the standard result was generated.

Yup, do it until they stop joining. I'm sure most randomers are going to find ways around this very soon. I've seen more passive mode players around my yacht in the past hours.

I never trust anyone who send invites to apartments. I remember the first invite I accepted the guy got a good chunk of the lobby in and kicked us all out where we walked into the waiting arms of a firetruck cannon, killing everyone (this was back in the day where passive mode players could die by a firetruck). Now whenever I accept an apartment or yacht invite, I go into passive and just chill. If not on passive, you have to be on your guards and makes having a good time impossible.

 

I can emphasise with you. There was one instance for me where some imbecile and their friend made use of a temporary glitch where a sticky bomb could be smuggled into and detonated within an apartment.

My friend and I sort of did the same thing. We invited the whole lobby and had the defense system on. When the yacht got pretty packed we went to the room, turned off the defense system and spectated through the tv. It was hilarious watching the whole lobby slaughter themselves over and over again until they spawned by the beach lmfao. Good times.
