WARNING, Shady new trick Yacht Owners are doing...

WARNING ! theres a shady new trick yacht owners are doing. They give out invites to the whole lobby. Once players are in they ask everyone to leave the yacht where they are forced to walk outside onto deck.

 

Defenses are down/ weapon wheels are disabled on every player so everyone is friendly and chill, We all get into the hot tub and have fun

 

Yacht owner suddenly takes defenses down and a friend of his bombs the whole hot tub killing everyone in there instantly. At least 8 of us died, Others around the pool were gunned down. Yacht owner then puts defenses back up so no one can take revenge.

 

I took the chance to trust and chill and be friendly for the first time from everyone here encouraging me to try it out and that's what I get, lol

 

Time to go back and treat the whole map like a death match, Im done with being lured in for friendly role play. Im done, ill never be convinced this game can have friendly get togethers , no way, no how, nor ever.

A similar thing happened to me and a friend, so you're not alone. Only difference is that we stole someone's yacht, drank wine in their jacuzzi then killed the yacht owner's friend.

 

So they both came back, put the yacht on defence, took it off and killed us.

Agreed, I would've done it too. I made this post cause Im pissed that I get harassed on this forum for working on my K/D ratio and I read post after post how everyone should be more friendly and how great this yacht is for getting players together on a friendly level

 

For five minutes Im talked against my senses and lost two lives of mine that I have to make up for. I got killed in the hot tub and I got killed when I had to get my ass back to shore

 

Stealthflight is right all along, Ive been telling you guys/gals this the whole time that this game will never be Second Life but many wont listen, I hope this post convinces

 

This trick will work for awhile but people will catch on and then soon no one wil accept the yacht invites anymore

In reply to "Id have been", I know in my case it wasn't the yacht owner per se that detonated us, it was another name. The yacht owner had it all perfectly timed to assist the killer, cause I went to draw my weapon wheel after I respawned alive, I was still on yacht (respawned on yacht) and he had put defenses back on.

 

People were running around dazed and confused just like in real life, many jumped overboard...it was kinda sad actually, seeing the invited players all stunned and running around like chickens with their head cut off, piecing together what had happened.

 

But that's a good question where the yacht owner himself can aim his weapons exactly, I never took a close look where whatever gunner or missiles launchers were.

I pulled two smaller tricks like that.

 

1. Saw a boat approaching my Yacht, so I shut off the defenses and threw a Proxy in the hot tub, then went inside. After this guy buzzed the door twice, he got in the hot tub. Dull boom outside and the screen shook as he exploded.

 

In passive and getting a Mallard from the airport. someone in a Hydra still tried shooting me with explosive rounds. A short while latewr I got invited to a Yacht, a few people were there including the wannabe jet troll. They got into the owner's helicopter, which was set to passengers, and the jet pilot got out. So I got in and out immediately, and was out of passive. Gunned him down then jumped off the boat and hid beside it until passive cooled down. Then went back to being nice to everyone, after getting back at the player who tried to kill my character.

Hot water literaly, I was in the pose where my elbows were bent on the ledge of the tub and my body arching back in the steamy jet stream next to two girls in white bikinis and five other men and then KABOOM ! fire and blood and smoke and 8 deaths popping up, then another and another as the others outside the tub were gunned down

 

Again, Im done with this friendly role play sh*t

 

 

 

Please continue on btw with all your comments and stories, I don't reply to all but I read every one of them.

 

We need this post kept busy so more players can see this and be able to heed the warning before they accept any yacht invite

@sky, good idea, in my experience tonight none of us did, It was a high death toll. I didn't go into passive cause I trusted the yacht owners disabling abilities but Ill only trust myself next time.

 

He even had the audacity to send out another round of invites five minutes after his trick.

I made this post to pat myself on the back for my decision to go back to my mindless killing . Friendly Role play is not for me. First time and last time Ill try it.

They can use my vehicles, but a few sometimes hop in the Helicopter before I get a chance to temporarily lower the defenses so they don't get shot down. As they're checking out the Yacht, I'll do a quick Sightseeing mission and share the $2OK+ with whoever's still onboard when I'm done... Afterwhich I hope to anotherssession and do the same thing again.

 

Not the typical Yacht story, I know.

I blame the game. When you give hammers to a roomful of monkeys, you get a lot of caved-in skulls. That's how Rockstar designed GTA Online.

I never trust anyone who send invites to apartments. I remember the first invite I accepted the guy got a good chunk of the lobby in and kicked us all out where we walked into the waiting arms of a firetruck cannon, killing everyone (this was back in the day where passive mode players could die by a firetruck). Now whenever I accept an apartment or yacht invite, I go into passive and just chill. If not on passive, you have to be on your guards and makes having a good time impossible.

I honestly question when I can ditch passive mode completely and not get gunned down for no reason. I doubt it's going to be anytime soon.
