earthrocker
So yesterday, after a few months, I was in the mood to play GTA. So I swung by the game store and grabbed a copy. Upon placing the game in the PS3 I was printed to install the 1.26 update. The update would occasionally reach 75% on update 2/18 but often wouldn't get further than zero percent on update 1/18. Either way, after no progress at all, I'd get a random error code. Troubleshooting my internet connection in every way possible, I was convinced the HDD was failing. I took the PS3 to the game store and had it swapped. (always buy the warranty kids) and brought home another one. Same problem... I get several error codes, all of them pertaining to internet or PSN connection. The game installs and plays fine, but it will not take the updates. This could be an issue with the disc itself, If it's a used copy take it back that is most likely why the person sold it because it was acting up
Spuds725
The above may be true-- How are you connected to the internet-- wired or wireless? If wireless-- is it possible (even temporarily) to run a wired connection to your router/modem. Also if you have a seperate modem and router-- try connecting and updating with the PS3 connected directly to the Modem instead of going through the router--- this will pretty much eliminate your home network setup as being the cause of your issues. earthrocker
The system is ran with an Ethernet cord. I've tried doing the update wired and wirelessly with the same results. I also purchased another copy of the game today, believing the other disc might be faulty. I deleted the game entirely and attempted reinstallation with new disc. The problem persists. I'm starting to think it's something related with my ISP.
