Ok two questions.

 

1. They show Casinos in the trailer, but not on the newswire. Any idea if they'll be included?

 

And 2. Do you think this will be an overpriced dlc? Considering a 3.5 mil shark card costs $50, will they really stick us for more than that for something we've all been waiting for?

This update looks nice, my two takeaways are:

 

Number one, this update for most likely break the bank for me because while playing legit is rewarding it's hard to keep up with exuberant prices. But I mean its always good to have a goal.

 

Take away number 2 is that I don't think they will activate snow on the same day the DLC drops. It would just be sort of out of place though I figure they're going to do probably the same thing as they did last year and just have it as a three day span. Around Christmas. Maybe a week till New Years.

This update looks real nice, god knows how much this stuff will cost though, definitely in the millions range..

Gonna wait and see the prices before I do anything about my bank, would rather pick and choose as I go.

Oh and if the Nightshade costs millions then they'll have to have a really good reason for that.

That's a silly question. This looks like a permanent update, just like all the others, excluding 4th of july, halloween, and christmas

i got little over $140million in cash and some 14-15million in sellable cars.

I wonder if the addition of massive yachts mean that they can now also add animals to the map.

 

No. Believe it or not, super-yachts are probably easier to add (at least on current gen) than animals would be. Yachts may not move at all - if they do move, it will be slow and predictable movement, like any vehicle. They don't have behaviors to worry about and there aren't going to be whole herds of them doing stuff. They are really only taxing to your console's memory - its ability to render stuff. Animals are taxing to your internet connection - like peds and traffic and knocked-over lamp posts, the game has to track which way and how fast they move, everything they do, and then pass that around to the other consoles in the session.

 

It's never been memory or hardware limitations that kept the animals out. The amount of stuff happening in even a busy Online session is already less than happens most of the time in single player - less detail, less dynamic objects. The problem is communicating all of what's happening between a bunch of individual consoles that all need to show the players on them basically the same thing at the same time. This is probably the same reason that a beat-up or bloody car looks different to different players who see it, or that one player might see a blood smear on the road while another does not - they don't even bother passing all that information around. It doesn't really affect gameplay so they save the bandwidth for other purposes.
