pbeezy
Hello everyone,  I've been trying for a few days now to replace my games Police2 & Police3 models with a new model and textures I've created for my local police department however everything I've tried has not worked and the default LAPD models are being used in game.  I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong or why the new files arent being used.  So far I've replaced Police2 & 3 in the following vehicles.rpf:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64\dlcpacks\patchday4ng C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64\dlcpacks\patchday7ng C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64e.rpf  I'm not sure if my MOD folder is created properly so I've included a screenshot incase of any duplicates:   Any help is greatly appreciated.
bizzlezx10r
I'm also dying to know this as "Police2" keeps showing the original model/texture even though i replaced it in all of the directories you mentioned.

Try what I mentioned and report back. Dilapidated
Dilapidated
The Admiester has some solid advice for you. That should resolve the issue. Â Some information to go with this... Â In update.rpf there is a file called dlclist.xml. It contains the order in which DLC files are loaded into the games memory. By placing the textures in the last DLC listed in that file you can ensure your texture will overwrite the original. To take this even further inside the dlc.rpf is a file called setup2.xml. Open this file, find the .rpf which contains the models and set overlay=true. Works the best to ensure the texture gets overwritten and is how me and Yard1 built RDE's DLC mod. Always ensure you add the vehicle texture files to the correct path in the dlc.rpf and if there is not one create the path and add the files info accordingly in setup2.xml. Once you get the hang of it start creating your own DLC mod files so users can install everything by just dropping in an dlc.rpf and editing the dlclist.xml to include the new content. Â Hope this info isn't overkill
