Drank 3/4 of a bottle of merlot one time. I was doing pretty okay until I decided to play gta for a bit. I got so nauseous from driving that I had to run to the bathroom and puke.

Also it's is much better than alcohol(Car accidents daily across the world, bad for Liver), cigarettes (Lung Cancer, etc.) and most other drugs. People can be addicted to ANYTHING by the way.

But the government doesn't want people who can be happy for themselves, and who can keep their culture/society going and stand up for themselves. Instead there's a whole generation of people who can think of nothing to do but blot out their lives with drink/drugs, and the few who don't are basically outcasts who have little choice but to just stay indoors and forget the world outside (much easier to do nowadays with games, internet, etc.). It's killing people off.

 

I'm sure America's probably not that far gone yet, but it'll fall that way soon enough if people aren't careful.

 

Also, doesn't Cocaine come off leaves or something? There are natural poisons as well - not everything that comes from a plant is good for you.

He said that Marijuana was "nature's drug", simply because it came from a plant - the implication being that if it comes from a plant it's good for you. I just pointed out that, by his logic, Cocaine is no worse than it, since that must be another of "nature's drugs" as well.

Technically it's extracted from the leaves of the coca plant. In actuality, pure cocaine is not "bad" for you. It's what people cut it and step on it with that is not good for people.

I played online once on some edibles (1000mg gummies) but my tolerance is low, so I was crashing into parked cars and stuff. The guys in my crew are pulling constant bong rips on party chat, not that there's anything wrong with it.

 

I've played drunk a couple times, but I'm in my 30s and can do what I want. Up to four strong drinks, my play is not affected but sh*t-talking increases dramatically. After that, I'm better off in freeroam.

Back in wartimes the Allied soldiers were also put on amphetamines, so they could compete with Nazi soldiers (who were being supplied with enough drugs to march many miles without sleep, perform seemingly impossible tasks, etc.). Way back in time Coca Cola used to have a little Cocaine in it. Everything has been legal at some point, and it used to be believed that these other drugs were good for you (similar to how some people defend Marijuana/alcohol).

 

I'd have no problem seeing alcohol and cigarettes go either - in my eyes they're just as bad as Marijuana, which is in turn just as bad as any other drug. I tend to see more double standards from drinkers and dopers, who tend to look down on those who take "hard" drugs (even though they're doing basically the same thing). If I wasn't against taking all drugs, I would be indifferent as to which drug I'd take (rather than delude myself that Marijuana and alcohol are good for you/somehow are better than taking other drugs).

 

But I see the lot of it as a terrible habit. It is border - line suicidal in my opinion. It is killing peoples abillity to make themselves happy, to develop as people, it is also killing peoples creativity, and limiting everyone's potential. By choosing to intoxicate yourself regularly, you are essentially stating that life is not enough for you, and that you want out: that your family/loved ones/friends are not enough for you, neither are any hobbies of yours - basically, that you don't have enough interest or love for anything in your life that you would actually want to experience it/them fully. If I am unlucky enough to ever feel this way, I would rather just die.

I can't understand how a sober grown adult can justify playing video games. Any sober person knows there's nothing to gain from playing & tons of better things to do, how could you suppress that feeling without some mind altering substance that helps fade away reality & allows you to be fully immersed in a virtual world? I'd really like to know the answer to that.

Entertainment doesn't need to have a purpose. It's there as a de-stresser. You get nothing from watching movies or television either, but plopping down to watch your favorite show or play your favorite game allows you to leave your work day behind you.
