_47_
I really wish rockstar would ban mods completely from PC. Too many people abuse the ability to even be remotely beneficial. I could use mods now if i wanted to and wreak havoc in online sessions. Rockstar really failed when they released gta on pc.
Uncle Sikee Atric
Really? Pointless thread is pointless.... R* did screw up with Online, but you will never stop modders. The ideal solution would have been to release server hosting and let the community police itself, Garry's Mod style. As it is, it is bad. But fixing things is not impossible. Instead of banning mods, support them, rather than trying to sweep them under a carpet, or paper over the cracks. Counter argument over. In b4 lock too. 65536, Sweet Bellic, Red Hat and 10 others

Nick930930
You want a fix? Play in a private session and invite a large group of friends that don't hack. That's your only solution to the hackers in GTAOnline. No if, ands, or buts about it. Rockstar's NOT going to allow us to host dedicated servers. Rockstar's NOT going to ban the use of all mods. /Thread
raburs
I don't find this thread very logical. First of all, mods cannot be "banned", especially on the PC. It's GTA. Modding has been keeping GTA games alive for quite a few years now. The first GTA mods were more than a decade ago. (i.e. 2002, if i recall correctly). And are still going strong. Rockstar appreciates this fact too. They can't stop it. They can only try to minimize it in GTAO. If you think modding is that big an issue, just play alone or friends only. Way to go. Secondly, GTAV on the PC is one of the most stable and optimised games on the PC. And i can assure you that our modding community will keep this game alive for years to come. Thanks to Rockstar Games for appreciating this fact. They didn't fail at all. I feel sorry for people like you. P.S. I agree with and @Nick930930 completely. ClareXoBearrx3R9
The only thing Rockstar failed at (for the most part) is the anti-cheat. They should have thought that through a bit more than they did. They probably tried to save money, but in all honesty, I believe their decisions ended up costing them a lot more than it would have been had they implemented a proper anti-cheat. Proper anti-cheat isn't easy to do, but there are companies that dedicate themselves to it and if Rockstar couldn't spend the time on it themselves, they should have paid someone else to do it. Most popular games do just that- they pay another company and integrate their anti-cheat into their games. Rockstar didn't go that route, and this is where it's gotten us and has gotten them. They are losing potential micro transaction sales everyday- nearly every session I've been in, people are having money rained on them or near them and people are picking it up without any hesitation. The GTA Online economy, at least on PC, is completely f*cked IMHO just because of that alone. Nothing is fair anymore- the most popular mod has over 30K downloads each month. The Steam community has roughly 20K players with this game, and let's just assume people without the steam version is roughly the same number. Thus, it's pretty clear that nearly everyone is cheating. It truly is a shame. But it's not something banning mods will fix or properly address. They need to fix the problem, which is the anti-cheat. Most likely they won't at this point, so you'll just have to deal with it or find some alternative. If I were you, go with people's suggestions above.
