7 just for how easy it is to install/keep maintained and it's compatibility with most programs.

Windows 7 since it never f*cked me over, but if I had to choose a favorite in terms of UI design, 8/8.1.

I've been using Windows since 3.1, and I have a lot of fond memories with 98 and XP, but Win10 is probably the perfect culmination of everything I've ever wanted in a Windows OS, so my vote goes to 10.

How about some login nostalgia for the thread? ;)

My favorites were 2000 because we had it on our first home computer which i played x wing vs tie fighter on, xp because I used it the most since it was in all of my schools, and 7 because it just improves while still keeping the general style of the past. I don't like how restricted the new windows are as far as the themes go. Plus, it all looks so flat and unappealing.

I'm a bit younger than a lot of you here, so the earliest version of Windows I remember being in my house is 98. I don't remember much on that, apart from the 3D pipes and maze screensavers (pretty awesome) and playing Reader Rabbit and Thomas the Tank Engine games, lol. Most of my memories of Windows come from XP, as that's what I put up with for many years on a variety of slow computers. I was always trying to get features from Windows 7 up there through various programs and tweaks, jealous of the snap features, the Aero glass, and the ability to change the window colors to anything you wanted. I also had a brief stunt with Windows Vista on an even slower computer with 512 MB of RAM. No idea how I got anything done on that.

When I finally got a new computer with Windows 7, I was absolutely blown away by it. The best operating system I had ever used. I did upgrade to Windows 8, but I found myself trying to turn it back to Windows 7 via the same hackish methods I used in the days of XP. Eventually when I had problems updating to 8.1, I ended up going back to Windows 7. I chose it for when I built my own gaming computer. To this day I am perfectly content with it. Everything--the look, the customization options about it--is pretty awesome in my eyes, and everything I don't like is easily changeable. (I will say that I use Classic Shell to modify the explorer and Start Menu, a few small changes really.) It feels like the operating system I always wanted growing up. I plan to faithfully use it all the way until its support dies out in 2020.

95 was a great platform, very stable.

But it terms of features 10 is a very nice version, so overall I'd probably vote for the latest incarnation.

Definitely Vista.

It's the one stop shop for all your free virus needs.

Wanna download more RAM? Done.

Wanna download more CPU Cores? Done.

Vista is the way to go.

With all silliness aside, Windows 10.
