Why don't people use mic's in GTA online

They have their chat set to friends only, or they are in PS/XB chat.

 

The reasons for this include not wanting to hear children, and not being able to easily mute individual players (without digging through the menu every time).

Please dont say text because I won't even have time to bring my phone out before i'm dead. Communication is vital for everything, and it was proven to me earlier in a heist where a level 28 with mic did much more than a level 222 without mic, simply because he was able to communicate with us.

No a mic is not vital for everything. I can do heists and missions without even being on mic at all and I do perfectly fine.

Did Criminal Mastermind and Elite with the same group of guys, only 1 dude had a Mic and it was mostly for Banter not for Heist strategies.

Some people are just useless and need that voice to tell them what to do.

I hate using a mic, why do retards think you have to use a mic, I can understand if your friends want to speak to you, but randoms, seriously ? I have had people leave my heist (good riddance) just because I refused to talk .. during setups .. and when I do speak, I almost immediately regret it as the people generally are douche bags.

 

Some players love to talk or more likely love to hear themselves, we not all like that, I talk when I want to talk, not because you lonely.

I don´t use a mic because I´m simply too lazy to plug a mic every time I join a mission or heist and then unplug it when it´s done,and besides,I don´t even need it 99% of the time (I mostly play in invite only,I mostly do missions alone,and when I was playing with a good team I even did some heists without having to use a mic).

1. They speak another language

2. They are rude and swear a lot

3. They are stupid

4. No one is talking

5. I have people over

6. It's late where I'm playing and I don't want to wake everyone up by talking

7. They have a really crap mic and I've muted them

8. They are too loud or talking way too much

I use it primarily for barking orders at lowly randoms,blasting dubstep music and berating non native English speakers and furreners alike

Party chat, but if I'm not in a party the only time I'll put a mic on is if I'm trying to tell someone something, normally 'PLAYER SAVED OUTFITS'

I don't talk because 95% of the time I'd be talking to morons and c*nts. I try to avoid talking to morons and c*nts as much as possible. Seriously though, no need to communicate in contact missions. Everyone knows what to do and if someone doesn't then they can just go ahead and die, makes no difference to me. As for heists, I only play with my friend and we always recruit two high ranks 100+. This usually guarantees everyone knows what to do and gets the job done.

1. The console supplied headseat is uncomfortable.

2. I don't want you to hear my missus nagging me to change this or fix that.

3. I don't want to hear you gloating how you killed me whilst I was flipping chanels on my TV to check the cricket scores

4. I don't want to hear the background noise of somebodies screaming baby

5. I don't want to hear the moron who thinks it is funny to say deranged things in a stupid voice

6. I don't want to listen to some god awful rap music being blasted through my headphones by some random imbecile

7. I don't want to listen to the the French, Spanish or Arab guy who only knows two words in English, "F#$k" and "you" and insists on using them endlessly

8. I don't want to listen to the American who tells the non-English speaking players to speak English because the game is set in the USA and that America is greater than their country (which it isn't if my substantial travel experience is anything to go by)

9. I don't want to listen to the German or Swedish guys who think that because they don't speak English they can insult me in the lobby without my understanding them

10. I want to listen to Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone without some kid singing it in my ears

11. I want to let my ears feel cool for a while instead of toasty warm.

12. Beacuse I just don't want to talk to you!

I mostly play on PC and we have a chat box so we can talk there so mic isn't really needed on PC otherwise i'm in a party chat or not at all.

 

When i play on PS4 i only turn my mic on when needed as most people have said already 99% of the people with mics have nothing worthwhile to say

and who exactly are you calling a failure? I never use a MIC yet I've achieved more than most in this game. People that like to talk, fair enough but how can you play a game seriously if your talking through it all most of the time about complete and utter nonsense!
