--Vega--
And have to say, what a dreary, depressing GTA this one was. Some people might not like me saying that, but it's true. The atmosphere is so depressing, the driving is pure garbage, the shooting is garbage, the game takes itself WAY too seriously, the story is like watching a "B" movie, and the radio stations are definitely the worst in the series. It's no wonder the last time I played this game was in 2010. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GTA 5 has a decent amount of flaws too but at least the game feels open and free like the older GTAs. Xing of Virtue
Excellent. Algonquin Assassin
That's fair enough. Not everyone likes GTA IV (clearly), but I don't know why you're making it sound so obvious that not everyone is going to like you saying that. I mean it is the GTA IV forum after all. BlackSnow176
Agree about everything, except the "B" movie and the "worst soundtrack" parts. It's more of an "Oscar" movie-type game with one of the best storylines and soundtracks in the series. Then again, it's kinda subjective. GTA IV with GTA V gameplay would've been the perfect game... Gnocchi Flip Flops
I'll stand by my views of every GTA being at least a 7/10 or more. No GTA is bad, except for Advance. Honestly, I think we need to create a bitch n moan thread for this section. Just so we can keep the "I know you'll hate my for voicing my opinion" people there. Both IV and V fanbases are getting annoying. Always going at it at each other and playing victim. Grow tf up. Osho
I found both IV and V to be disappointing outside the story compared to the 3D Era games. IV is just the lesser of the two evils, with a great story, lot more immersive and fleshed out game world, and the driving / physics. The positives in V can be spotted in the vistas, the polished and well optimized PC version, and the car customization to enjoy driving on the big open world, but it felt a lot less immersive, empty, boring, and always had this constant feeling of a "lonely" existence than IV. Also, the way game forces the single players to download a large number of title updates makes V a lot sh*t, because of its overly focus only towards the garbage online. Basically, V isn't that different than IV in disappointments but IV on its own merits is a lot better than V, unless and until you enjoy having a modded experience, in which case the V offers a much better selection to pick and install of variety of mods. So yeah, depending on your tastes and preferences for the"positives" seen in both games, you may find yourself siding with either both to balance out the equation and overcome the negative sides in both, Or you may end up playing one and reject the other. I have been facing this same issue of deciding which side should I pick, and the mods helped a great deal here in making a decision. I have chosen GTA V. TheOneLibertonian
I disagree that GTA IV is a drab and depressing game. Sure it's dark and gritty, but there is still things that are light hearted within GTA IV. I do respect OP's opinion though. *Plays GTA IV* Algonquin Assassin, BenMitchell90, Officer620 and 2 others
CodeRedBruh
Totally agree bruh. I criticise V a lot but at the end of the day it offers more fun than GTA Snore. 95% of this game was boring. The new graphics saved its reputation a bit. Just imagine how much more crappy it would've been on Renderware? It would have sucked even more in 3d graphics. More than the game I hate its fanbase. Say one word against and they'll try to tear you to shreds and ridicule you.

Because V is so scripted is imposible to not get a Mission Failed screen when you dare to step out of the line, i can't take people seriously when they criticize IV and make an example of V being less flawed in some way. I mean, if you could provide examples of your feeling being in the right maybe I could relate to this post more. You just said a lot of steaming criticism and left. But okay. I am by no means shutting you down though, just saying examples are always needed. Otherwise it just comes off as a troll. Cheatz/Trickz
The atmosphere is so depressing, the driving is pure garbage, the shooting is garbage, the game takes itself WAY too seriously Highly subjective, I love the depressing atmosphere of IV because it's more hard-hitting. I love the driving due to the slight skill required for it (and this is from someone who also enjoys GTAV's driving as well). I think IV's shooting is far superior to V's because of the grittiness of it. V makes it too easy and the guns sound like pea-shooters. Gnocchi Flip Flops
It's funny how he says the game takes itself way too seriously when 90% of ads, talk radios, hosts and AI conversations are satirical. You even see 69s above doors and bowling pins in between two balls to represent male genitalia. In what way is that taking itself too seriously? I honestly feel like people are beginning to talk out of their asses. The charm of IV came from the realistic and gritty approach but still maintaining the satirical side with the radio and such. It strikes a balance between being both a believable story and a parody of reality. UshaB, sammystarock, Gnocchi Flip Flops and 2 others

Basically all you're saying here is it's not alright for GTA IV fans to point out where GTA V lacks, but it is for everyone else. The ironic thing here is you keep defending GTA V like you're some massive fan of it when you bash it worse than most of us do.
